All move broke or were broken during labour.

vivavivaviva · 01/02/2018 16:44

If it helps, my second started exactly the same way my first did - so you may be exactly the same!

Mine both went while I was resting about 12 hrs before my contractions started. My sofa recovered and my bed had already been protected! It was exciting, not embarrassing!

FaithEverPresent · 01/02/2018 16:46

Mine did! I was sitting on the (fortunately leather!) sofa and they just went. It was fine though. Labour started a few hours later and DD was born a few hours after it happened.

MrsBertBibby · 01/02/2018 16:47

Mine went as I sat down to eat my dinner. I thought I had wet myself, took a minute for the penny to drop especially as I was 10 days away from due date.

The worst was I was wearing my lovely new slippers and there ended up with no slippers in hospital. Gutted.

RestingBitchFaced · 01/02/2018 16:48

Mine did both times. The first was a gush, the second was a trickle

GhostsToMonsoon · 01/02/2018 16:48

My waters broke in bed at night six days before I went into labour.

I was going to be induced 48 hours after they broke but consultant agreed I could wait to go into labour naturally.

annlee3817 · 01/02/2018 16:50

I got up in the night at home and mine started to break, lots of small gushes for an hour before contractions started, then two hours after the first contraction my waters went completely at the hospital

maybeIamtoo · 01/02/2018 16:51

Three labours, two started spontaneously, one inducted. Waters never broke on it's own xx

Alfwood · 01/02/2018 16:52

I had to have my waters broken with DS1 then my waters broke on the midwifes hand while she was checking how far dilated i was with DS2 Blush, so im thinking this time around it would be nice for them to go on their own was due two days ago though so not holding out much hope.

ladybirdie26 · 01/02/2018 16:53

I had mine broken for me in hospital!
I really was hoping for somewhere dramatic though 🤣

Vitalogy · 01/02/2018 16:57

My waters broke when I turned over in bed, I was overdue at the time.

Justwaitingforaline · 01/02/2018 16:57

Mine went when I was sat on the loo at 3am. I felt a weird pressure so went to the toilet and BAM. They kept going for about 4 hours and DD was born 28 hours later

honeysucklejasmine · 01/02/2018 16:59

Both times they went in the early morning, when I was in bed.

mommybear1 · 01/02/2018 17:05

Yep mine did at 36 plus 4 - total shocker as I was booked for an elcs.

Grumblepants · 01/02/2018 17:08

Mine broke while sat on the sofa 2 weeks early. Contractions started less than an hour later and within another hour they were a min apart. My baby wanted out! He is still a very impatient child.

faitheloise · 01/02/2018 17:09

Mine was a huge gush in the birthing pool last time, around 3 hours after labour started. Im 2 days over due so thinking they are going to just gush out at any moment 🙈 i dont have my bed protected and my sofa is fabric so hoping they will go on the toilet or somthing hahaa

Mine did second time about 3 hours before labour started. First time, the midwife burst them during labour. I didn't know it was possible to move so fast when so heavily pregnant, as I ran to the bathroom! I had heard them 'pop' as I stood up with the potty full of poo and made the loo before the worst of the waters came out. I then sat on a towel, luckily, for the second lot coming. I felt a hell of a lot lighter!

Oh, and I didn't drop the potty either. I calmly emptied it between gushes.

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 01/02/2018 17:24

Mine had to be broken for me mid Labour, both times

metalmum15 · 01/02/2018 17:25

Mine, they went at 6am when I was still asleep. Thought I was weeing myself! Poor dm had to come round and dry the mattress while we were in hospital!

user1499786242 · 01/02/2018 17:26

Mine broke whilst having contractions!
I thought I had wee'd myself
And there was such a small amount even the midwife wasn't sure

Expecting baby no.2 and I wonder what will happen this time
Carrying much more weight so I'm assuming there will be more this time 😬

MelvinThePenguin · 01/02/2018 17:28

Broken by midwife both times at 8cm+. No drama here!

TheBitterBoy · 01/02/2018 17:31

Mine went in bed with a pop and a gush - I know lots of people who did the same - well worth having a protector mat on it I think!

Shmithecat · 01/02/2018 17:34

Mine did. About 1am in the morning of 39+6. Nothing that ruined the mattress though. DS was born about 12 hrs later.

Oysterbabe · 01/02/2018 17:37

Mine did both times.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 01/02/2018 17:41

Dd1 two weeks before in bed. Dd2 waters went again in bed 3 hours before. Twin 1 on the stairs 2 hours before, twin 2 broken by dr in theatre (literally all over them Blush) 6 minutes before.
