Maternity tights - arrrgghh!

Help!

I am in dire need of maternity tights that stay up! Anyone any recommendations?

I've tried the Emma Jane ones from ASOS. The over bump part stays up but the crotch slides down with every step I take - very unattractive look!

I tried H&M 100 denier ones - they stay up a treat but the legs are clearly designed for a giraffe as I had extremely wrinkly knees a la Nora Batty.

I tried H&M 40 denied ones - the worst of the lot. I can't walk more than 3 steps without them falling down!

Help! I'm at my wits end! I have to wear tights for work, so I'm in them 5 days a week whether I like it or not!

In case it helps, I'm 5 ft 3 and was a size 10/12 before pregnancy. If you're over 5 ft 8 and all legs it might be that the H&M thick ones work for you!

I bought mine on eBay. Gabriella or Fiore were my preferred brands.

I feel you! I'm 5'3", also a 12, and have had a nightmare! I bought JoJo 100 denier ones (£15) and they are an absolute disaster.

Most recently I tried Boots (2 pairs for £9), sixe s/m and they are great. About 50 denier ish and the bump is comfy and they don't fall down. You could be taller too and they'd be okay. Try em!

I have this problem too so following with interest!
So far tried mothercare and asos both crap

Porgs · 04/01/2018 15:49

Same problem here! I've converted to leggings (h and m are good although the size small is hard to find)

If it's the crotch that's the problem on the Emma Jane ones try wearing a pair of pants over the top of them. Weird but it honestly works!

I wore normal tights but in a bigger size. That seemed to work for me.

pastabest · 04/01/2018 15:58

I contemplated using braces.

WelshMammy123 · 04/01/2018 16:03

I've just switched to boots tights and they're getting a thumbs up from me so far

bananaramama · 04/01/2018 16:12

Pre-pregnancy I was a size 8 and 5ft 3" and have found the Seraphine and ASOS own brand ones to be absolutely fine... admittedly I don't have to be in them everyday though...

Having bought the ASOS ones after I'd purchased the Seraphine ones, I'd skip right to the ASOS as they are half the price! But admittedly the Seraphine ones are slightly nicer in quality.

Good luck!

Thanks ladies, lots of suggestions to try. I think my next attempt will be Boots by the sounds of things!

Marks and Spencer 40 denier maternity tights! They have been my lifesaver. I hear good things about John Lewis flesh coloured tights as well.....

guiltynetter · 04/01/2018 16:49

boots are definitely the best i tried!

cornishmumtobe · 04/01/2018 16:51

Not maternity ones but I've been using scholl light legs whilst pregnant. They don't fall down as they are compression tights and they are great for circulation so double bonus!

JessieMcJessie · 04/01/2018 16:54

ASOS own I found good. Before that I once wore a different pair to work that were so badly fitting they actually fell down completely when I moved! I had to rush out to M and S clutching them under my skirt and buy some emergency hold-ups 😳.

bottlegreen · 04/01/2018 16:54

This was me today! Mine fell off my bum in the middle of a lesson Sad

PointeShoesAndTutus · 04/01/2018 17:14

I hear you! I lost mine in the fruit and veg aisle at Morrisons today!

I had exactly the same challenge! M&S were brilliant and the ones I always rooted out from the big jumble in my drawer. Unfortunately they were out of stock on the website for the second half of my pregnancy so I had to get by with only 2 pairs for months.

buntingqueen · 04/01/2018 17:21

I always found Matalan ones good, and some nice designs on them too.

LittleWingSoul · 04/01/2018 20:34

Another one for Boots maternity tights! Comfiest and softest so far and most importantly stay up!

cheerylilthing · 04/01/2018 20:39

John Lewis maternity tights are pretty good & I’m 5’2. The sizing on the back seems pretty accurate which helps

MulderitsmeX · 04/01/2018 20:40

Another vote for boots ones.
They supper the bump nicely

You can also cut normal tights but I find I need a belly band if I do that as my bump feels too free.

INeedNewShoes · 04/01/2018 20:42

Pretty much the same dimensions as you and I also found the Boots tights really good.

StillMissV · 04/01/2018 20:53

Wholly recommend boots maternity tights!

spugzbunny · 04/01/2018 20:56

Also a vote for Boots! They are the best I own

RaeCJ82 · 04/01/2018 21:13

Another vote for M&S! They were so comfy! Those were the days; no need to even attempt to suck your stomach in!
