Fraser

I know it shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks but i just wondered what the general thought was.

I want original but not names that can be joked at when school time comes.

thanks

I like it - it's uncommon, but not particularly unusual iykwim. DS's first 'best friend' was a Fraser.

Moomin · 21/04/2007 16:40

It's fine. Can't see it being the butt of any jokes as there seem to be a lot of boys' names that are surnames around (ifkwim), like Carter and McKenzie, etc. Sounds Scottish, which is nice as well.

I had a nice friend from Edinburgh, whose boss (in England) referred to her as Miss Freezer, in his best Jean Brodie tones.

MerryMarigold · 21/04/2007 17:09

Yes, it's nice but quite Scottish. Like Callum. It's also easily spelled and pronounced. Good one!

Carmenere · 21/04/2007 17:09

I like it.

Tinker · 21/04/2007 17:10

I know someone who named their child Kallum...there's always someone who can balls up an apparently easy to spell name

SherlockLGJ · 21/04/2007 17:10

I like it, and I can think of another MNer would love it.

SherlockLGJ · 21/04/2007 17:11

Tinker

Spelt with a K it looks like something you would take to stop a bad bout of the trots.

collision · 21/04/2007 17:12

Ooooh tinker.....I know a Callum with a K too. Awful IMHO.

Where does your Kallum live?

collision · 21/04/2007 17:13

Meant to add that I like Fraser but not Frasier as in the sitcom.

Tinker · 21/04/2007 17:14

collision - he was in North Wales. Where's yours?

Idreamofdaleks · 21/04/2007 17:18

I like it

collision · 21/04/2007 17:19

Love it. One of my favourite boys names.

Caz10 · 21/04/2007 19:16

I'm scottish so I know lots of Frasers, and they are all very nice! I think Frasers are generally calm, sensible type people.

littlemissbossy · 21/04/2007 19:17

Like it.
It was on my shortlist for DS3 but DH didn't like.

cameroonmama · 21/04/2007 23:11

We know an adorable small Fraser, very calm and sensible Lovely name.

moondog · 21/04/2007 23:29

Dreadful
Dull
Certainly not original

Malaleche · 21/04/2007 23:30

very scottish and a bit common in the 80's wasnt it?

MrsSpoon · 21/04/2007 23:31

Fraser's a good solid name, doesn't date, like it.

expatinscotland · 21/04/2007 23:32

That was our 'boy' name, had DD2 been a boy.

Which I knew she wasn't!

lucy5 · 21/04/2007 23:33

I must admit, i'm not keen on it, but then again it doesn't really matter as it's not down to me
