Fraser

I know it shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks but i just wondered what the general thought was.

I want original but not names that can be joked at when school time comes.

thanks

i really like it but then i quite like 'different'names. my son is called Clark and some people think thats odd but then there are others who love it.including me so bollocks to the rest of them!

unknownrebelbang · 21/04/2007 23:42

There's at least one other Kallum that I know of, lol, Collision.

Not fussed on Frazer, if I'm honest.

Sorry.

Mhamai · 21/04/2007 23:44

A bit like expat, if me aunty had balls he'd have been me uncle! Cool name but in an American Frasier way, yeah whatever, shoot me!

expatinscotland · 21/04/2007 23:45

I've only ever seen it Callum.

Never seen it with a K.

2cheekymonkeys · 21/04/2007 23:46

Gordon Brown's son is called Fraser.

FirstAtForty · 21/04/2007 23:47

not really keen on surnames as first names (eg the name of the child of one of the Desperate Housewives, 'Parker' - just sounds really ugly to me). But Fraser's much better than Parker!

Astrophe · 22/04/2007 00:48

I'm also not a fan of surname type names as first names, but I don't hate it or anything.

If I met a child called Fraser at nursery or somewhere I wouldn't think anything, IYSWIM.

fionap19 · 22/04/2007 03:13

Hi I think its nice. I have a son called Ramsey..it is also a surname as a christian name...unususal but not teasing material. I have never been sorry I called him that and he doesnt have problems with it. He is now 5.
Fraser is really nice, simple spelling nice name, not common but not weird! LOL

Good luck!

DS was to be Fraser until I made the mistake of telling my family - they all gave me funny looks and my Mum said "you can't call the baby Frasier" - so as I wanted a name that was easily pronounceable I went off Fraser. Also a friend of a friend had a baby called Fraser and my friend said she just couldn't take to this child for some reason - couldn't get that out of my head either!

None of this was a issue as i was convinced I was having a girl!

Of course then DS popped out!

Doc says what will you call him so I said "Matthew". Cue DH looking at me and saying "where did THAT come from? I thought we agreed on Fraser"!

And then of course we hit the problem of Dubliners with a strong Dublin accent calling DS "Ma-CHew"! To DH's disgust!

But to get back to original OP - I like it again now!

Twiglett · 22/04/2007 07:13

you'll get loads of people calling him 'Frasier' and have to correct them all the time

but its a good name

Miaou · 22/04/2007 08:13

Yes I really like Fraser too (lol at LGJ)

I have a Calum. With one "l" (the more common way to spell it where I live). However every single bloomin' member of dh's family spells it with two!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/04/2007 08:27

I like it, lots.
