Hello everyone,
Hope you're all doing good! I'm keeping my eye on here daily, waiting on any announcements! Can't wait for some more babies to arrive!

Olivia & I are doing good. We were seen by the breastfeeding support worker today to assess me. Latch is good and Olivia definitely getting milk but to try switch feeding to boost my supply, and hopefully her weight! She's so alert now and a content wee thing. I can't tell you how amazing motherhood is!

Lovely pic Dolly :) Glad to hear all's going well. I ended up doing switch feeding with DS from about 8 weeks, as he no longer seemed satisfied with just both sides once at a feed. Hope it helps Olivia.

Ohb0llocks · 08/11/2017 21:29

Oh @Dollydaydream2829 look at her!!!!

What is switch feeding?

G only feeds for around 10 minutes every 2 hours. He’s gone for 30 minutes once. He’s back above his birth weight now though so he must be getting enough!

Anna2006 · 08/11/2017 21:52

Ahh a sweet nursery @moo. All prepped for your little one now. Our furniture will be up in a few weeks so will post a pic of ours when done ☺️

Such cute photos of George and Olivia. There squishy little cheeks! So adorable! 👶🏻

Been very busy last few week as had been my birthday an been non stop seeing people. Feel like I don’t get a spare moment at the minute an getting bigger as each day passes.

Not long until my daily injections start. My appointment is next Tuesday so that’s my next milestone. bella how are you getting on with your jabs?

Awaiting patiently for any news on the next baby. Baking sounds like it could be you up lol.

Xx

AmandaP86x · 08/11/2017 22:11

Ohhh gorgeous pictures both so cuteeee 💙💖 @Dollydaydream282@Ohb0llocks

bakingmad83 · 09/11/2017 07:02

Sounds like George is getting all he needs, probs just an efficient feeder :) Switch feeding is where you change sides several times during a feed.

Hope your injections go ok once they start Anna. Hopefully things will quieten down a bit for you so you can get a bit of time for yourself.
It's funny, as for all I was convinced yesterday things were moving, don't think so today! But at least I have a clean house and tea is already sorted for tonight :)

Ohb0llocks · 09/11/2017 21:54

First bath here tonight! He wasn’t sure... didn’t scream though which I’m taking as a good sign!!

bakingmad83 · 10/11/2017 06:43

Still remember DS's first bath, probs because he wasn't so keen!

Moo31 · 10/11/2017 07:13

I think I might be in early labour ... but having never experienced this before it's so hard to know!! Lost my plug on Mon and Tue then yesterday was cramping on and off all day. Waters started trickling yesterday evening and infrequent period like pains. Phoned midwife at 11pm and she said to put a fresh sanitary pad on and call her in an hour to let her know if it was soaked through - it wasn't. She said to try get some sleep and phone again if there's loads of waters or the pains are stronger/longer/more frequent. I did manage to get some sleep and am still having pains but they are so infrequent - have had 2 in the past 35 mins. Is this the start of labour or a false alarm?!

Anna2006 · 10/11/2017 07:49

Oooh @moo31!!! I have absolutely no idea so will let the mummies answer but sounds like stuff could deff be starting to happen! HOW exciting!!

Good that you managed to get some sleep if it is the start of things. 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻 Try rest as much as you can today to give yourself as much energy for if it is the time. Maybe have a bounce on a birthing ball if you have one?

DueNov · 10/11/2017 07:54

This was me at 35 weeks. I'm now at 37 + 2. Having my first girl and I'm due 29 November.

Have a feeling I'm going to go over just due to how uncomfortable I am. I've been measuring 2-4 weeks ahead each tim3 and had growth scans. Fluid on lower side so pretty much all baby. Fully expecting at least a 9 lbs er!!

I'm only 5'2 so have had a waddle for a long time 😂

I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea to help labour an evening primrose oil to soften cervix to hopefully avoid tearing. I know here wives tales but worth a Go!!

Had some reflexology yesterday which was relaxing but no labour. Baby seemed to love it though!! Also tried nipple stimulation that doesn't work either 😂😂 congrats all x

Also had period like pains that comes in waves nearly 2 weeks now. Always in an evening mostly. Midwife said it's baby engaging. She has gone from 1/5 to 3/5 engaged. I see the midwife again at 38 weeks on Wednesday. X

Dollydaydream2829 · 10/11/2017 08:12

@Moo - sounds like how my labour started! When my waters broke on the thurs - I had infrequent crampy pain start on the sat and carried on until they got to 8-10mins apart on the Sunday late afternoon and everything progressed fast from there. Are you needing to take any pain relief?

You may carry on for a couple of days with infrequent cramping or you could be of the small percentage that meets their baby on their due date! I'm so excited for you. Try to keep us updated if you can!

Thanks @Anna and @Dolly! Bouncing away on my ball and have the heating on to get a bath. Haven't taken any pain relief yet @Dolly but good to know that this sounds like how yours started! I have an appt this afternoon which was supposed to be for a sweep so will go anyway so they can examine me and see what they say. Will try and keep you all updated. Really hoping it's not the start of a 2/3 day marathon lol

Dollydaydream2829 · 10/11/2017 10:26

That's great that you have an appt anyway - hopefully there'll be good news for you while you're there and it won't be a long one. When my waters broke, they reckoned I'd been in early labour for a couple days. I'd been having back pain but not thought anything of it (probs cos I was only 34 weeks!!) So chances are you've maybe been in early labour for a little while without realising and now your waters are starting to trickle, it'll speed things up? I had to get the remaining of my waters broken by the midwife though before full blown labour happened so maybe worth keeping in mind!

What do you ladies think re: postnatal thread? I was going to create one but thought it may be nice to create a fb group? Easier to chat and share photos etc. I understand part of the appeal of this site is for anonymity and know that some folk don't have fb so if you ladies would prefer to keep to just a thread then I'll make one!
What would everyone prefer?

An fb group would be great @dolly!

I've been transferred from the midwife led unit (that disappointingly I tried my whole pregnancy to get transferred TO) and am waiting to be admitted to the consultant led unit to possibly be induced. I am in early labour (and same as u dolly - I think I probably have been for a few days) but the midwife is concerned as she thinks there is meconium in my discharge so baby has done a poo because something has distressed them.

Dollydaydream2829 · 10/11/2017 16:43

Best of luck to you moo - I was also gutted I never got to the midwife led unit but was pleasantly surprised with where I ended up - was as relaxed as possibly could be and the care was second to none! Also reassured me that there were consultants available should the need arise!
Aaaaand baby moo will be here before you know it!!

@Dollydaydream2829 aw a fb group would be fab!!!

I am 29+6 now!!! My hip has been killing me. I haven’t felt a lot of movement see when I’m nightshift I feel like it flings my movements off 🙈🙈🙈 I am measuring at 30cm but that was last week! So I hope I don’t have a massive child 😂😂😂😂

Xx

BellaMoon · 11/11/2017 07:32

i’d be 100% up for fb group @Dollydaydream2829 - i see that’s why we haven’t had anymore grads from the old PMA threads as they’ve all gone to a FB group - had to laugh a little cos their “come back and chat anytime” offer to us clearly expired 😂

i’m away for a baby breakfast with my colleagues this morning and then overnight
with DH for our first wedding anniversary to Loch Lomond. i better have wifi in my room so i can check in on the updates later 😘
