Hi I am pregnant for the 2nd time. now just over 3 months. My first child will be 15 months when number 2 arrives.

Has anyone else been in this situation, how did you cope, and am I mad?

diddle congrates to you. I have 12mths between both my girls and actually find it easier than the gap I had between DS and DD1 which was 2.2yrs. So from start to finish there is 3.2yrs. It is great and they all adore each other. DD1 was too young for any jealousy. Only slightly hard bit is lack of sleep when dealing with others and at the min DD1 is teething with her molars and DD2 is not a good sleeper..lol

diddle · 06/04/2007 14:36

Oh thats wonderful,
we'd planned on ours being close, and there is onyl 17 motnhs between me and my sister, and we are close. I think it will be hadr work, but great for the kids when they're growing up.

good luck with your 3rd, when are you due?

congrats Diddle and I'll see you over in the 'due in sept' thread. Our gap will be 22 months so not as small as yours but the gap between me and my sister is only 51 weeks and that's quite nice now we're older - and when we were young it never occured to us that it was a small gap (tho might have crossed parents' minds once or twice!).
enjoy!

millysimmons · 06/04/2007 17:16

We will have 11 months between ours. Think its going to be hard work, lots of people say we are mad but we're really looking forward to it. Only thing I'm finding is I am so tiered cause I am still EBF my nearly 6month old!! And eating for england.
My friend has 10 months between her 2 boys & loves it.

PinkTulips · 06/04/2007 17:18

ds is 18 months younger than dd.

he's 8 months now and it was by far the best thing we could have done.

she took to him so well and adores him, there was no jealousy at all. i'm so looking forward to when they're older and will be such good friends and be able to play together

canadianmum · 06/04/2007 17:24

a good friend has 2 girls who are exactly 15 months apart - absolutely no jealousy between them and they tell people that they are twins .

SquonkyDonkeyHotCrossBuns · 06/04/2007 17:25

ds is 14 months younger than dd2.

They are lovely together. Twas hard work with v. small baby and toddler, but now they are both a bit older (2.9 and 19mo) they are great friends.

JARM · 06/04/2007 17:27

15 months between my girls and its great. harwork pays off.

They are really good friends now - they are 2.8 and almost 18 months.

Im also pg again, so will have 3 under 3.4yrs, but wouldnt swap it for the world.

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 06/04/2007 18:08

Oooh-gatecrash alert...................

CONGRATULATIONS

JARM · 06/04/2007 18:30

is that for me or the OP?

THanks if for me!!! xxx

mad4girls · 06/04/2007 18:36

youl be fine dont worry what other ppl think

i did read this story in a mag about 1 woman had a 4 yr old then twins then gave birth to triplets 10 mths later and she didnt even know she was preganat

even scarire the twins were born in nov the triplets in aug so they will all go to school in the same year!!

now heres a scary thought

my dads a twin and his parents had 11 in total, at one point had a 7 yr old 4 yr old had twins my dad and sis, then 16 mths later had another set of twins 2 girls, that was when there was no disspoable nappies and no washing machines !!!

PeachyChocolateEClair · 06/04/2007 18:36

DS1 was 5 months when I got pb with ds2, I was g at the Christening but didnt know it.

I din't think it was so bad, really. I am however the sort of eprson who drives themselves a lot and prefers to run towards the hurdles rather than sail above them, iyswim. LOL. (it was planned btw).

I found the most invaluable things were a sling and a swing. I hated the double buggy (this was pre- someof the funkier ones around these days, mind) so just went for the sling and buggy oprion as long as I could. And found a swing that could rock either of them to sleep/ entertain them whilst I fed the other was a huge bonus.

The other tip is just to be easy as you can on the 'other' stuff- cooking, shopping (internet!), washing etc.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 06/04/2007 18:36

mad4girls, Nan ahd 16- Dad thinks 3 sets of twins but he can't remember!!!!!

mad4girls · 06/04/2007 18:39

PCE isnt it scary we have it so good, thank god for contraception love kids but i dont want 11 no offence to anyone BTW

everyone makes there own choices etc etc just my PO

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 06/04/2007 18:41

It was for diddle as I was on the TTC after MC thread with her but hey-CONGRATULATIONS to you too JARM.

PeachyChocolateEClair · 06/04/2007 18:43

God No, my other Grandad was one of 11 and frankly thats just too many!! Let alone 16!

Would like 4. Tahts enough, yet only 1/4 of what she managed. I cant even say I have respect for her, they were dragged up by each other and the older ones looked after the little ones (Nan was disabled so not her fault, but Grandad chose to be a useless so-and-so). My Nan with 11 though was apparently an excellent Mum and farmers Wife.

diddle · 06/04/2007 19:22

wow you guys are getting me very excited.

I'm quite an organised person and will love having two so young.

Think the hard work may be a shock, and the neglecting the internet part.

Humphreys! thanks mate
