Hi I am pregnant for the 2nd time. now just over 3 months. My first child will be 15 months when number 2 arrives.

Has anyone else been in this situation, how did you cope, and am I mad?

Diddle the one thing I would say is make sure they each get some of your time. It can be hard but sometimes you just have to 'ignore' one while giving the other some quality attention.

16 months between DS and DD and it is hard work but DS loves 'baby' as he calls her, is very protective and lovely with her. I'm hoping the hard work now will pay off when we are able to choose outings that will suit both children, they will play together and share friends. Who knows they may fight like cat and dog but at least we won't be changing nappies for the next 4 years. BTW apart from a wobble when DD was first born I've never regreted having them close together and everyone I know in the same situation thinks it is great.

i'm just over 3mths pregnant, and DS is 9.5 mths. I can't wait! I know it'll be bloody hard for a couple of years (nappies, nights, feeds etc) but also very rewarding. I keep thinking about a few years time- nappy free holidays as a family etc. I think DS will love having a brother / sister- he's very sociable and playful.

i'm another who will have a small age gap...my ds will be 1 when the new baby arrives (give or take a week). A lot of the time i'm crapping myself, but i generally think the positives outweigh the negatives...you don't ever seem to hear of children born close together who don't get along

congrats by the way

LOL PT. We wanted ds1 done as early as poss, as he wasn't thriving. We were trying to hang on for our house move 4 weeks later but gave up waiting- wish we hadnt, we got to the Baptism to find we were sharing it with the most notorious of the local famillies (chain smoking, baby wearing grubby joggers, swearing over the prams)

I didnt mnd sharing, in fact I knew one or two of the people independently and they had lives I wouldn't have wished on anyone thorugh no fault of their own (one was abused as a child for example). But couldn't they have washed the baby? DS1 was wearing a robe from john lewis we had saved for months for (and it was £35- we were very broke back then LOL!.

My friends abominable dh took one look, and dissapeared into his BMW until afterwards! Bit of a joke- he's by far the biggest srim I know.

Hamp (part of Bridgwater) probably not the best area to leave a decent car though.

not sure whether to laugh or cry at the poor baby not even being washed

lol... i got dd done in the teeny tiny church by my parents as i didn't want to share with anyone! priest was overjoyed and it's a gorgeous church though. pity about the parents and pil feeling the need to make it a miserable day.

i'm afraid to get ds done now because i simply can't face all the hassle again!

know what you mean about saving for months for the dress... took us ages to afford dd's and it was only 50 euros!
