How many of you, in retrospect *knew* you were pregnant almost immediately after conception?

Just idle curiousity....

I definitely knew two days after conception, just felt sort of wetter and slightly elated. Am I weird and unusual? Started vomiting at 10 days past ovulation as well

Yes, I knew just a few days after, can't tell you how I knew, I just did. Of course my friend thinks I'm a complete nutter but, I swear it's true. Had an agonising wait to do pg test, when it was positive, dh just said, don't know why you bothered you knew anyway.

lazyemma · 04/04/2007 22:37

no, didn't have a scooby until my period was late.

mad4girls · 04/04/2007 22:38

this time after 12 mths of ttc i actuley knew when we were having sex that this time we were making a baby right at that moment sounds crazy i know but 100% true and coudltn get the thought out of my head to the point that i couldnt even do an exam without thinking about it even though i wasnt due for about 5 days

sorry if tmi

I didn't with my first, but with my second I knew straight after the deed was done. Very strange, I just felt it. Sounds odd I know but its true.

tribpot · 04/04/2007 22:40

Felt it as soon as the deed was done. Odd but true.

Hassled · 04/04/2007 22:41

Of my 4, I only knew with 1 - and then it was within a couple of hours of conception - I had that ovulation twinge and worked out I must be conceiving. It was a lovely feeling

rantinghousewife · 04/04/2007 22:41

You lot do not know how pathetically grateful I am to hear all this, thought I was some kind of nutjob. (Does a little jig)I'm not the only one.

cece · 04/04/2007 22:42

No

with dd was 2 weeks late before I tested. Was quite shocked to get a bfp!

with ds I was a week late before I tested but had guessed when I was late that I was as I had got the same tingly boobs feeling.

with the 3rd (that I miscarried) I think I felt it implant and it felt quite different. Bloated and crampy from the beginning.

lucy5 · 04/04/2007 22:43

I knew both times, I don't know how, I just knew!

MarsLady · 04/04/2007 22:43

I did with the first two and was in denial for DD2 and the DTs!

imaginaryfriend · 04/04/2007 22:44

I had no idea whatsoever as I'd been told I could never get pregnant. I didn't even suspect it when I skipped a period. And I barely believed it when I had a positive pregnancy test result.

SlightlyMadSpringBunny · 04/04/2007 22:46

I KNEW within a coupe of days with DTDs. Didn't have a clue with DD3 tho, until I suddenly realised that my mouth was metallic and I was late (and we were ttc so you would have thought I would have been testing as soon as AF was 2 mins late wouldn't you???)

colinandcaitlinsmommy · 04/04/2007 22:48

I did. With DD (2nd child) I ended up ovulating about 10 days late, so test came up +ive 10 days later that it "should" have, and I had some spotting that I thought was a period, but I knew I was pregnant. I kept telling everyone I was and couldn't figure out why I wasn't testing as pregnant, and tested every other day until I did come away with a positive. With my 1st child, I did a test the morning my period should have came, because I was pretty sure I was.

mytwopenceworth · 04/04/2007 22:48

i did. almost instantly. i honestly can say within days i found myself thinking constantly about pregnancy. it was always in my thoughts. 2nd time, same again. but i did a cheap test and it was negative, but i still couldn't shake the feeling. it was a nagging voice in my head. i ignored it for ages because of the neg result, but then i started throwing up every day and finally did another one, yup, right again.

the downside to knowing from day one is the pregnancy seems so long! i got very impatient. i envy those people who don't find out until the 3rd or 4th month!

WaynettanEasterEgg · 04/04/2007 22:50

Definitely 'felt' it the day after DS1. Ds2? Well he wasn't a PFB, so what-eeeeeeeeeeeever!

Dinosaur · 04/04/2007 22:53

Only with DS3, but I really did know with him!

IdrisTheDragon · 04/04/2007 22:54

I "knew" with both DS and DD. With DS I knew the day he was going to be conceived - at work all day I was ready to jump on anyone (didn't ) and then when DH get home he had a headache (this wasn't enough to stop me ).

With DD straight after we had conceived her I "knew".

noseynora · 04/04/2007 23:18

Had a feeling I was even though I had a negative test result so not sure how that works in terms of timing(can never quite get my head round how the dates work). Three weeks later got a positive and thought, "I knew it all along!"

TwinklemEGGan · 04/04/2007 23:20

I thought I "knew" almost every month for nearly 4 years. When it did finally happen I didn't have a clue and only did a test when I was already 7 weeks gone!

I knew the day following conception.

Marina · 04/04/2007 23:24

I knew with dd, but not with my first two conceptions. It was a WEIRD feeling.

Blu · 04/04/2007 23:27

Actually I knew immediately, but that seems fanciful since conception doesn't hapen for a few hours anyway, so I don't admit it!

Lmccrean · 04/04/2007 23:29

I knew with dd right away. Everyone thought I was mad too...the night she was conceived I had a dream where I was lying in bed and my flat pre-preg belly starting moving and I saw a little girl with blonde curly haired and big blue eyes appear as if my skin was morphing into her(really hard to describe!-erm, you know the way you push your hand into a balloon and the surface stretches-that kinda thing) and I sat up and she was sitting on my knee and said Hi Mama. Fast forward a few years and I have a little blonde curly haired girl with blue eyes...

UCM · 04/04/2007 23:32

Knew with the first one as my boobs hurt, they never hurt. (3 weeks)

Knew instinctively as I was weeing alot. (3 weeks)

A few years previously I never knew and miscarried at 18 weeks. Then, I only knew after about 10 weeks.

Ectopic - 7 weeks, before this, again never knew until it burst.
