Good morning! I've had some light spotting this morning, first time pregnant so worrying now!! Do I need to phone the midwife?
She deemed me high risk due to my weight? Do I need to worry? Or do I need to just calm down? Xx

Freaking out!! Been to the out of hours doctor again!
He's sent me to a and e! Says it could be a miscarriage or an ectopic
I've been sitting wait for an hour and half and I haven't even seen the triage nurse yet 😭😭

Hi @sussexgal i was in your shoes last year and the waiting at a&e is the absolute worst - i was so tired and upset and fed up by the end of it. Unfortunately was bad news for me but bleeding doesn't always mean something bad is happening so i will keep fingers toes and eyes crossed that it's a better outcome for you. Hope you have got someone with you x

Sussexgal · 28/08/2017 21:23

Yes my bf is with me
But he's freaking a bit!

You may need the bloods redone in a couple of days before they know what is going on, depending on what bloods they are doing.

Yikes at the fainting. Are you normally not great at having bloods done?

Sussexgal · 28/08/2017 21:37

I don't like needles but I've never fainted before, I think it was the trouble finding the vein then the stress the hot room and coz I haven't eaten since lunch

OP posts:
Brenna24 · 28/08/2017 21:43

That sounds horrible. Not having had anything to eat certainly wouldn't help.

violetamy · 29/08/2017 00:14

Praying everything is ok for you xxxxx

Sussexgal · 29/08/2017 03:34

They said miscarriage or ectopic is fairly high
As my progesterone levels are 4 and hcg is 500 and they think I'm roughly 8 weeks and that's too low
I have to go back for more bloods on weds and they will decide then if I need to have a scan weds to see if it's ectopic
Am I naive to have a small sliver of hope?? Xx

We're in very similar positions as I'm at 8 weeks today, but my hcg was 230 yesterday which is very very very low.

I've been monitored since 4 weeks 2 days and my hcg has been creeping up like a snail. I've been told from day one that it's either going to be an inevitable miscarriage or an ectopic so I'm being monitored pretty closely.

My next blood test is on Wednesday too.

I've had a little bit of spotting last week but I've had no pain at all which is good as I'm not in imminent danger of a ruptured ectopic.

I feel for you a lot as the waiting around for results or for something to happen is torture. We also had to cancel a weekend away (only 4 hours drive from home) as I was told I needed to stay relatively close to home and the hospital.

The problem with an ectopic is that they won't see anything on an ultrasound to see if it's located in the uterus or tubes etc until your hcg reaches between 1000-2000, so for me at least it's a waiting game until my hcg levels start dropping and I miscarry or until they see something on an ultrasound, and with my numbers there's pretty much zero chance of it being a viable pregnancy.

I truly feel for you. There's always hope of course as I've read a few stories online about women whose hcg never gets very high and rises very slowly too and they still end up with a healthy baby. These are rare though, but can happen. I think it's something like 15% that don't have the right hcg numbers yet still have a healthy baby.

I think you'll know more when you get your second hcg results and you'll be able to compare the two numbers to see if they doubled in 48 hours, which is the more important bit.

Sorry for the epic post, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Sussexgal · 29/08/2017 07:45

Thank you, my fingers are crossed for you too!
It's a horrible waiting game isn't it :-(

Today 08:55 Sussexgal

They don't believe it to be good news as I had lots of pain and blood yesterday, going for bloods this evening to check my levels but every one believes I've miscarried, thank you for all your thoughts and hand holding, a small part of me still hopes they are wrong but it is fading fast xx
