I'm nearly 37 with 3 children already and he youngest having just turned 1 last week.
I've done 3 tests all saying pregnant. This cannot be happening. My last period was the 12th July and I've NOT had unprotected sex at all since my last period. I had a private scan yesterday and they said it was too early to see anything. I've googled which I know I shouldn't have done and it says certain medical conditions can give positive tests. I've now convinced myself I've got some sinister disease!
I'm heartbroken as after my youngest was born last year I had 2 operations and one being a spine op. I cannot push out another baby and I don't agree with abortion.
I'm cried so much to cause a flood. What am I going to do 😢

They didn't see ANYTHING on the scan? Not even a gestational sac? Did they do a blood test to check your HCg levels?

RatherBeRiding · 17/08/2017 11:57

You need to book an appointment with your GP urgently. And don't panic. (Easier said than done I know, but until you know exactly what you're dealing with it's best not to dwell on the unknown). Good luck.

NC4now · 17/08/2017 11:59

Are you on contraception that could have failed? Agree, you need to see your GP asap.

Teddy7878 · 17/08/2017 12:02

Life isn't always within our 100% control and unfortunately things like the pill etc can very occasionally fail even if used correctly - have you had a bug or anything that might have stopped it working properly?
If you are pregnant could you get a c section if you can't give birth naturally and don't want an abortion?

Comedyusername · 17/08/2017 14:07

Sorry - no helpful advice beyond seeing your GP. Flowers

SparklyMagpie · 17/08/2017 14:12

Do you suffer with PCOS OP?

Just i've heard sometimes this can give false positives

Did they not see ANYTHING on the scan?

SleepFreeZone · 17/08/2017 14:15

I'd be pushing to have my hcg levels tested

GlitteryFluff · 17/08/2017 14:26

What contraception are you using?

Tonytonymacaroni · 17/08/2017 14:38

If you've had food poisoning or diarrhoea recently then the contraceptive pill might not have worked that day if it's not had enough time to get into your system (equally true if you throw up due to a bad hangover or travel sickness). I always forget this and just expect the pill to work every day! Just a thought.

Thank you for the replies. They didn't see anything at all on the scan, no sac or anything. She checked the ovaries and then tried again. She said it was too early. She said the lining of my womb is thick which indicates I haven't had a period and that it was too early to see. I'm booked back in to have a private scan again next Friday. I'm not on the pill due to age and the fact I started smoking again after I had my daughter they wouldn't give it me. My husband uses a condom religiously. I have had sex 3 times this month possibly twice actually and each time the condom was used properly and no splits and leakage at all!!
I did 3 different brand tests, the last one being the clear blue digital at it said pregnant 2-3 weeks which he leaflet states is 4-5 weeks. My period was 5 weeks and 1 day ago.
Online states condoms are only 98% could I really be that unlucky? But then why is there nothing on the scan no black little sac, nothing at all? Could it be too early?
I'm paranoid I've got some awful disease. The Drs want to rule out pregnancy and said wait for the next scan before they can do anything else. Is that right?

I had another scan today. There are 2 sacs visible measuring 5-6 weeks. They said it's very early to see heartbeats and one sac hasn't yet got anything in but that's not unusual as it's so early

jcsc · 23/08/2017 15:36

Today's scan

Freezingwinter · 23/08/2017 15:41

Oh wow.. TWO! Are you ok?

YouRat · 23/08/2017 15:42

Sorry. But thinking ahead. Would a
C section be better for you
If you were to be pregnant?

HeartburnCentral · 23/08/2017 15:53

Congratulations, you're having twins! We were ttc and were shocked to discover we are having twins. It took a long time to get over the initial shock. It will take time to get used to this so take your time. Flowers

doowapwap · 23/08/2017 15:57

Wow what a shock for you all and twins too!

How are you op?

flumpybear · 23/08/2017 16:01

Wow twins!! I'd ask for a section if I were you

Congratulations SmileCake

TwoKidsAndCounting · 23/08/2017 16:13

Holy crap OP, are you okay? Twins? A condom must have split, that's unfortunate, there is no 100% efficient birth control so i guess you are unlucky, although very lucky in some peoples eyes i guess. Good luck, i really hope it all turns out well for you and your family. Oh and ive had 3 elec c-sections and they were wonderful experiences Flowers

SparklyMagpie · 23/08/2017 16:43

Wow! What a shock for you OP but congrats and all the best x

jcsc · 23/08/2017 18:08

Thank you for the replies. I'm totally shocked and even though it's totally unexpected I feel a little excited and possibly blessed as well to be able to fall pregnant and with twins.
I'm a natural worrier and I have a million and one thoughts flying through my head from how will I cope with 5 children and how to fit them all in my 3 bed house, to worries of the pregnancy as it was too early I didn't see the heart beats. I suppose I just to have accept what will be will be and hope thang it all goes ok x

sophiejayne96 · 24/08/2017 10:57

Everything happens for a reason.. the fact you used protection and have TWINS just proves that if it's meant to be, it will be. ❤ I'm so excited for you!! Keep us posted on any news! I'm sure it's a shock but just think how incredible it will be to have 2 gorgeous babies in the house. xxx

BringMeTea123 · 24/08/2017 14:23

Hi @jcsc just read through your post. Congratulations! Hope everything goes ok. Just want to wish you the best. Let us know how you get on at your next scan x

jcsc · 24/08/2017 14:31

Thank you. Yesterday I was so shocked and cried a lot and today I'm still in shock and emotional but I want them so much I can't stop worrying. I hope they develop little heartbeats on my next scan and everything will be ok.
I have a loving husband and happy children and I know I have room in my heart and house for another 2 babies xx
