I'm nearly 37 with 3 children already and he youngest having just turned 1 last week.
I've done 3 tests all saying pregnant. This cannot be happening. My last period was the 12th July and I've NOT had unprotected sex at all since my last period. I had a private scan yesterday and they said it was too early to see anything. I've googled which I know I shouldn't have done and it says certain medical conditions can give positive tests. I've now convinced myself I've got some sinister disease!
I'm heartbroken as after my youngest was born last year I had 2 operations and one being a spine op. I cannot push out another baby and I don't agree with abortion.
I'm cried so much to cause a flood. What am I going to do 😢

Wow amazing and congratulations! Certainly must have been a shock but it sounds like you have good family support. Good luck everything progresses well Flowers

vlooby · 24/08/2017 23:06

Fabulous news! I grew up one of 5 in av3 bed house, no problem!! :)

GladAllOver · 24/08/2017 23:12

Congratulations!
This must be a surprise for your husband too. How has he taken it?

GladAllOver · 24/08/2017 23:14

I hope you're stopped the smoking again.

seven201 · 24/08/2017 23:25

Will you physically be able to carry twins? Only saying that as you mentioned recent spinal surgery. Congratulations! Must be such a whirlwind of emotions.

jcsc · 25/08/2017 12:50

Thanks all. Yes still very shocked. My husband actually has taken it so well and has dealt with it head on, much better than me being tearful and emotional all the time.
I had spinal surgery November a microdisectomy. My last pregnancy was horrendous and I was hospitalised a lot unable to walk. My surgeon said the operation was a success and pregnancy shouldn't effect it but nothing is guaranteed. After my daughter was born we were separated for a couple of days which was horrific as I had a prolapse of the bottom area from pushing too hard. The pain of that was worse than labour itself. So based on those things that's why we didn't want anymore children as I went through hell but I did come out the other side of it all in one bit.
And yes I've given up smoking which is making me a monster as I've got a really stressful job too x

So based on all of that I was kind of hoping they would offer me a c section x

Oh bless you. What a surprise! I have a friend who got pregnant despite only having sex twice that month and using a condom both times.

I've had a prolapsed disc and it is excruciating. I think you have good grounds to ask for a section.

Good luck with everything. I'd suggest a large gin, but I guess that's out of the question now!

It sounds like you can make it all work out.

seven201 · 25/08/2017 14:34

You definitely have reason to push for a c-section. Be firm about it

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 25/08/2017 14:44

Twins, a prolapse plus back problems/spinal surgery - I would be very surprised if they denied you an elective c-section.

Huge congratulations on your news! Lots of luck with the pregnancy Flowers

lollipop7 · 25/08/2017 14:52

Oh my goodness what a roller coaster ride you've been on. Twins!
I can just imagine feeling overwhelmed but overjoyed too. It's a massive life changing piece of news.
I have no experience of this but wanted to write and wish you and your family all the very best. I hope if everything progressed well you get the best of care and feel listened to. Good luck! Flowers

Wow, what an amazing story!! I hope all goes really well for you, op! Flowers

jcsc · 25/08/2017 17:59

Thanks you all and Congratulations on your pregnancy with twins. How are you finding it? Have you got any other children?
I am excited and scared all at the same time. My main concern is that my other 3 don't feel a bit pushed out. They are 12,7 and 1. The 1 year old is at the possessive stage and won't share me at the moment.
I'm seeing a clairvoyant this evening and I have mixed feelings about going 🙈 x

I was 12 when my youngest sibling was born and I loved it! Loved helping with him and the next youngest. I'm sure they'll all be delighted x

I'm a twin, it's wonderful. How exciting for your family Smile

jcsc · 30/08/2017 10:29

I had another scan yesterday. Saw both little flickering heart beats.
One is still larger than the other and ones beating at 102 and ones 112.
Is this normal I thought they would be higher than that. My dates are 7 weeks but he said they are more like 6 weeks x

Yesterday's scan

How could this happen!!

Suggest you get a coil fitted to make sure, whatever happens, that you are not just relying on condoms.

jcsc · 30/08/2017 11:33

He's going to have the snip.
