Shall I get my DP to come home?!

My partner is working an hours drive away. I think my waters went at 10 30 this morning. Although I'm not sure if I just weed.
I've had a bit of blood.
My contractions started about 2 hours ago and are about 5 mins apart and have been since they started.
I don't want to get him home if this is going to stop.
Would you call him and tell him to come home?
First baby. I'm a bit clueless! I'm 37+5. Is this the real deal?

Call hospital if there's blood. And yes, call DH . It could all happen very quickly.
My DS1 was born at 36 weeks within 3 hours of waters breaking.
Is there anyone with you? See what the hospital says, but think about starting to make your way there now.

NoCapes · 14/08/2017 14:09

Ermmmmm yes get him home!!
Have you spoken to the hospital? How much blood exactly?

geologyrocks · 14/08/2017 14:19

Did you ring the hospital? How painful are the contractions...are you still losing water?

Kittysparks1 · 14/08/2017 14:19

I gave the unit a call once the contractions started and they didn't seem too concerned with the blood and want me to call back at 3pm to see what's going on. It's like I've just come on. Mainly when I wipe, a little in a pad. Nothing major.
No im on my own, apart from a dog who literally won't leave my side! My mum and sister have offered to come over but I told them not to worry. My Ma lives 5 mins away so could be here quick if I needed her.
I've called him and he is on his way back.
So this could be it. Ok. Breathe.

I would say YES! Smile

Kittysparks1 · 14/08/2017 14:21

No other than little gush of water this morning but I've had watery discharge for days. So maybe it's just that.
The contractions hurt. I have to focus to get through and it's only the start.

Good luck OP!

Kittysparks1 · 14/08/2017 14:27

It could be. I started to loose my plug last week. It was jellyfied. And a bit brown to be fair. This blood is red and no jelly but the midwife on phone said it's probably from show. Grossssssssss, I just read that back!

BringMeTea123 · 14/08/2017 16:56

Good luck all sounds very exciting and like it's happening! Let us know how it goes! Flowers

Kittysparks1 · 14/08/2017 18:04

Thanks all. Still at home having pretty strong contractions every 4-6 minutes for about a minute each time. I see what people mean when they say "you will know" when it comes to contractions!!

Just hope this progresses well doesn't stop!

Ouch though.

Bobbiepin · 14/08/2017 18:15

Listen to the dog! They are freakishly accurate when knowing when you need looking over. I hope you've called DH! Good luck, let us know how it goes.

HeartburnCentral · 14/08/2017 19:17

Remember to breathe through each contraction. Your baby will be here before you know it Smile

geologyrocks · 15/08/2017 10:25

How are you getting on OP.?

sprinklesofweirdness · 15/08/2017 10:35

I think no reply means something big is happening! Grin

Kittysparks1 · 15/08/2017 20:13

Hey all, baby here safe. Turns out was the real deal. After 27 hours labour, couldn't get past 9cm so emcs in the end. Very sore. Very tired. Very surreal.

To anyone on the fence, get the epidural!!
