Strong gut-feeling/instinct on gender

Not sure if this is the right place for this question so I'm sorry if it's wrong!!

How often has anyone had an incredibly strong gut feeling about what sex their baby was going to be?

And how often has this been right/wrong?

I was so sure I even bought a little newborn dress for my unborn DD, who was in fact a ten pound baby boy! Grin

tittletattoo · 12/08/2017 17:59

Wow really!! Did you find out in your scan or was it surprise?

I need to hear these stories as I'm SO sure I'm having a boy but I need to tell myself I don't actually know that Grin

I have had gut feelings each time with all 5 of mine and been right each time, but that may be just luck!

tootsieglitterballs · 12/08/2017 18:04

First child, I was certain from day 1 it was a boy and it was.

This pregnancy, I was certain from day 1 it was a girl... 2 gender scans later and it's most definitely a boy!

PeachesandPie · 12/08/2017 18:07

I was 100% certain baby is a girl right from the start. Girl was confirmed at 20 week scan and now just waiting to see (29 weeks now) if she definitely is! I couldn't even imagine that it might be a boy but no one else could understand how I just knew.

IStoleThisUsername · 12/08/2017 18:07

I 'knew' with all 3 of mine, only a really strong feeling but it was in effect just really good guesses Grin

spankhurst · 12/08/2017 18:07

Scan. The sonographer told us but it was pretty obvious anyway, if you know what I mean!

user7841794168 · 12/08/2017 18:08

50% right and 50% wrong!

dippypanda · 12/08/2017 18:08

1st pregnancy and I had a gut feeling it was a girl and she was.

Currently on 2nd pregnancy and was convinced it a boy and again I was correct. Could be coincidence but my instincts were right.

DramaAlpaca · 12/08/2017 18:10

100% wrong all three times Grin

spacefrog35 · 12/08/2017 18:10

I knew (or at least my feeling was proved correct) Grin

MotherOfBeagles · 12/08/2017 18:10

My family get the gender right on every single baby without fail. In particular my grandma and her children. It's uncanny I have no idea how they do it. But myself and my female cousins (grandmas granddaughters) seem to also have inherited this.

But to be fair I was certain from the day I found out I was pregnant that it was a boy (despite really wanting a girl lol) and I'm 30 weeks with my first child - a boy! Lol

Jellybabie3 · 12/08/2017 18:18

I had a gut feeling about my little boy and was right Grin but like others have said, it really is 50-50. I was over the moon though x

usersos · 12/08/2017 18:20

I threw up for the whole 9 months and so people kept telling me it was a girl......
It was a boy!

HensAndRabbits · 12/08/2017 18:20

I was absolutely certain dc 1 was a boy, I even had an image of exactly how he'd look - despite the fact he was unlikely to have curly black hair I was adamant he would. He did.

With dc2 I was certain I'd have a girl who would look exactly like ds. I bought lots of lovely dresses for my great big ginger boy.

moofaced · 12/08/2017 18:24

My husband and I did, found out at the 20 week scan we were wrong Smile

shushpenfold · 12/08/2017 18:28

First child I suspected was a girl. 6'3" DS now. My second child was DEFINITELY a DS....name picked out, blue teddies etc. DD1 appeared. Grin Didn't bother predicting DD2!

Groovee · 12/08/2017 18:30

I was right with both my children. I just knew what I was having and we didn't find out until they were born what sex they were.

meltingmarshmallows · 12/08/2017 18:33

I felt convinced my baby was a boy but found out via a private sex scan & then at the 20 week scan that she's a girl Smile. So 100% wrong here haha.

BertieBotts · 12/08/2017 18:34

Wrong for me.

user1499786242 · 12/08/2017 19:52

I knew before I was even pregnant that my first born child would be a boy!
As soon as I was pregnant I just knew, thought of the baby as a he etc
Didn't officially find out but bought everything for a boy
And when HE was born I didn't even ask what the gender was, just started saying 'he's so beautiful'

I have a gut feeling my next will be a girl
And if I have a 3rd it will be another boy!

Batoutahell · 12/08/2017 19:54

I was right once and wrong once. There is absolutely no way in the world you can 'know' but at least you've a 50% chance of being right.

TeddyIsaHe · 12/08/2017 19:55

With dd from the day I found out I was pregnant I knew she was a girl. From the 12 week scan everyone kept telling me she was a boy so I started doubting myself. But found out at 20 weeks she was indeed a girl!

Aria2015 · 12/08/2017 19:56

I had 3 vivid dreams that my lo was a boy and he was. It wasn't wishful thinking because I didn't mind either way.

3littlebadgers · 12/08/2017 20:02

I was wrong all five times. I was so convinced each time that I bought little outfits and anything. Dh guessed boy correctly the fifth time purely based on how sure I was that he was a girl Grin
