I have ds 3 and dd 19 months already and want to ttc for no3 when I'm 36 (next year) (Actually I'd like to before then but dh won't have it ) Just interested in how long took the slightly older amongst us to conceive as I know your fertility is supposed to take a nose dive when you get to 35. What is your experience? I got pregnant quite quickly with both of mine but was very scientific about it.

Hiya, I'm 39 and 18 weeks pg with DC2 (DS1 is almost 17 now!!!)

My DP and I decided to try in February so on 21st Feb i had my coil removed. Two weeks later i was pregnant so there was deffo no decline in my fertility!! Not sure if it has something to do with the fact that my DP is 14 years younger so his little swimmers are stronger perhaps??

Hi - Im 38 nearly 39 and due in 2 days!
Fell pregnant after one condomless session with my Dp when it was his 46 birthday!!
(Some birthday pressie I keep telling him!)
I was surprised that my fertility was so good at this age. Made me feel 16!!

I am 35, DP is 41. We started TTC in December '06 - I was pregnant by January '07 We're now expecting a baby girl in October this year.

I saw my GP before starting TTC. She advised that the average time for a woman 35+ to conceive was a year. Interestingly, my Mother and Grandmother both had children "late" 41 and 40 respectively, so I feel like a spring chicken compared to them!

My pregnancy has been fine BTW. A fair amount of nausea and tiredness in the first 10 weeks but since then I've been healthier than I was pre-pregnancy.

Hi - I conceived my 1st 3 really quickly and was worried that no.4 would take longer because of being 36.5. I was v. fortunate and my age didn't seem to matter cos I got pregnant v. quickly again - 1st attempt. Hope it works out for you too.

RG have I missed your toyboy confession or did you keep it quiet before. DH is 3 years younger than me but I might trade him in now,

I am 37 and 16 weeks with no 1. Took me 6 months without focussing on ovulation time. I really think that i put way too much pressure on myself initially and i got PG when i thought it would be better if i didn't conceive for a couple of months. Very common, i think

Will be 40 when DC4 arrives, didn't ttc at all, just got a bit careless with birth control.... Actually, that's how we got DC1 and DC2, too. .

I come from a line of rather over-fertile women, though. My mother was an unwanted pregnancy born when my grandmother was 36. WWII intervened to take Grandad away for 4 years or I think Gran would have had at least one more.
