Hi girls, I had my sweep on Tuesday afternoon as was due on Monday! MW said I was 2cm, on Wednesday I had lost my plug, since then I have been experiencing like period pains in lower bump and back. The lower abdomen cramps have now eased but from this morning my lower back is in agony only time it eases is when I'm on my birthing ball & now tonight period like cramps are back in my lower bump, pain in my back is so sore it's making me feel sick. Am I in early labour? I was induced 40+10 with my first so can't even tell what I should be going through and not sure wether to hold off or contact hospital?

So sorry for rambling just so fed up and sore now Shock

Xx

My back to back labour was very different to my first labour.
I'm not saying baby is about to pop out but do stay aware of your body and do what it is telling you to.
The hospital wouldn't let me up as my contractions weren't close enough together but then I just knew I had to go up so did and I was 9.5 cm dilated.
Hope things start to become clearer for you.

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 19:13

I'm at the stage now where I don't think it will become clear to I'm actually in for induction 😓 I'm walking around with my face tripping me.. I should be happy and excited although I'm just in so much pain and fed up.

Want to just crawl into bed and sleep to Thursday when I know the day has arrived for bubba to come but I'm dreading my partner going back to work tomorrow and having my LO all day everyday to Thursday.. I'm exhausted thinking about it lol x

Do you think it's a good idea for your partner to go to work tomorrow? Can he ask for some emergency holiday?
Unless he doesn't work far away. Just sounds like you are close to labour now.

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 19:35

I don't think he wants to take leave as he's not getting maternity so once I need him he will be on emergency unpaid leave :( so he kinda has to go in.. I just feel so exhausted now like I could constantly nap ha ha I really hope I'm still not here on Wednesday night waiting to be induced :( I've heard this back pain and cramping can last weeks before any actual labour? X

I had back pain that started as a constant pain and then moved into very painful waves. Didn't have any bump pain. So for me it was definitely a sign of labour starting. Good luck, it sounds totally miserable 😩

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 19:46

How long did it take it to turn into painful waves, it always seems to start up at this time of night; I get pains in my stomach which feels like wind then bottom of my back literally feels like someone drilling holes in it :(

Ah that's. It good why won't he get paternity. I thought everyone was entitled to two weeks statatory pay xx

MrsPringles · 23/07/2017 19:50

Personally I would just call the hospital again, just to put your mind at ease.

Agree with PP that it's best that your partner doesn't go to work tomorrow just incase, especially as you've got a little one too

I hope you have your lovely baby soon OP Flowers

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 19:50

When he started he missed the cut off point by a week, he could apply if I don't go to the 27th but cos my due date was 17th they said he wasn't working there long enough to qualify.. bit crap as it was only a week x

OP posts:
MrsPringles · 23/07/2017 19:57

If you can afford it as unpaid leave, he'll be legally allowed to take it as 'parental leave' - you're allowed x amount of weeks off to look under children under the age of 18

In this case, your 3yr old

My contractions never really had a pattern tbh, my boy was back to back and the pain was all over. Are you far from the hospital? Can you pop in and ask to be examined just to set your mind at rest?

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 20:09

I just feel like it's all too much for them to do anything, as soon as she asked about timings earlier and I said I didn't have any was all in my back she said it's just your body getting itself ready.. which pisses me off as she has no idea the pain I'm in, I understand they're busy but I don't just wana rock up and ask to be examined can almost imagine their faces x

BellyBean · 23/07/2017 20:14

The letter about when to call in was x contractions in y mins OR when pain is too much to bear.

I'd go in.

Elledouble · 23/07/2017 20:20

It's fine to go in - honestly. I rocked up on my due date having started bleeding after a sweep and they were really nice. Loads of women come and go a couple of times before it's baby time.

Elledouble · 23/07/2017 20:21

Especially if you're already overdue!

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 20:28

I just feel like if this is what it feels like now, I don't want to feel it get any worse Sad I just don't understand either how pain can be so much worse at night than during the day? Every night goes by pains get worse.. and as the days go on I have zero energy :(

Debating wether to jump in the car and drive over tbh x

OP posts:
Elledouble · 23/07/2017 20:30

Oh dear - you haven't got anyone to drive you? Do be safe...

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 20:32

Partner has to stay with wee man as he's in bed. Would just be for quick check. Thanks Hun x

Could you get a taxi?

You've clearly been in a lot of pain for a long time. If it was anything other than pregnancy/labour you would have got medical advice and/or taken pain relief by now!

IF I were you, I'd insist on seeing a midwife - in the morning if you can wait until then, but if not tonight. Ask for an examination to check whether baby is back-to-back, and check how dilated you are. Don't let them send you home without advice on pain relief. And if baby is back-to-back, Google Spinning Babies for advice to encourage baby to change position.

Good luck!

Blondielongie · 23/07/2017 21:09

You need to ring them up and get things moving along. Or call your midwife and ask if they can induce you in the morning. I don't know what your are like in rl, but you sound very anxious and I think a call to midwife or hospital is needed.

LexieLulu · 23/07/2017 21:23

Pop by, you will be checked pretty quickly and at least you can be told if you're in labour or not! Good luck Flowers

Francine92 · 23/07/2017 23:13

Just back from hospital, not very helpful if I'm honest, check bubs said all was fine which is good, done another sweep and said still at 2cm after saying she wasn't going to examine me as I had no frontal contractions and said maybe my handbag was too heavy and that's why my backs in agony but to continue with paracetamol and hot baths and she'll see me on Thursday for induction then sent me home Envy

OP posts:
NameChange30 · 24/07/2017 04:49

Maybe your handbag was too heavy?! WTF?! Angry

Did the midwife say anything about baby's position?

MrsPringles · 24/07/2017 06:34

I echo namechange

Too heavy?! What an absolutely ridiculous thing to say
