Hi Guys i've already called my midwife and shes asked me to callback in an hour but i just wanted to know what other people think. Im a FTM with a complicated high risk pregnancy - so you could say im a bit if a worrier/paranoid manic. Ive had really bad lower back pain for over 4 hours now, i managed to sleep through the first hour and half but woke up as it was worse. I've had a lot of dishchare that seems wateryer than usual and i feel like im having a bad period. I have had tighenting but not to the point i cant talk through it and it comes and goes. The back pain is whats giving me most trouble. Im 31 weeks exactly today and on a lot of medication for my complications so i do worry this affects baby. Have movement very low down and she sticks her bum out alot which is also quite uncomfortable! 30 minutes before i have to call midwife again, paracetomal not yet worked

Have you had a bath?

I had this with my son, no contractions just lots of back ache and it was Labour. If a bath and paracetamol doesn't ease it it could be the start of labour.

Also try drinking lots of water. Thought things were kicking off last night - turns out I was a bit dehydrated. Follow with food if you think you might at all be slightly hungry.

I had very similar symptoms at 24 weeks while admitted into hospital and it turned out I was in pre-term labour. Drinking water is a good idea. I wouldn't have had a bath though, as I had a high risk pregnancy due to cervical issues it would have been an infection risk. As you mention watery discharge, it could be waters leaking.

31 weeks is a great gestation if you do deliver (though I hope it's a false alarm) but ask the midwife about steroid shots to mature the baby's lungs just in case. Having spent several months in NICU, I can see what a difference it makes.

Good luck

Bath is fine as long as there are no products in it, i.e. bubble bath. Obviously check with your midwife if you're unsure OP. Thinking of you Flowers
