I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

Hi SineadF - congrats! In my area, you don't need a GP appointment, just a self referral for a midwife appointment but that may be different for you if you're in a different area and/or as you've experienced MC.

Here is the info page for my local NHS trust - it gives you an overview of what to do next. I'm sure you can find something similar where you are by googling: self referral maternity 'area name'

www.lewishamandgreenwich.nhs.uk/self-refer

SS81C · 07/07/2017 09:20

I was hoping I could self refer but I spoke to my surgery and you have to see a GP first here .....

SheSaidHeSaid · 07/07/2017 10:28

I think I can self refer here. I called up a hospital last week when I first found out I was preggo and they just told me to keep taking vitamins and to call back when 6 weeks. She didn't mention going to my GO first so I'm guessing I can self refer.

I kind of think it's better to self refer, GP surgeries are at bursting point anyway let alone going to see one who will just do the exact same test as you did at home and tell you what you already know.

SS81C · 07/07/2017 11:34

@shedaidhesaid couldn't agree more.....cant see the point of seeing the GP but I guess each area is different. I hate taking up a GP appointment unnecessarily - especially as they've told me to just go to a drop in clinic as I couldn't get an appointment for a couple of weeks and I'm already somewhere between 6-8 weeks so need to be seen before then really as it can take 2 weeks to get a MW appt.....

Oh god. OH GOD. 40*c and morning sickness struck properly this morning. There I was thinking 'what is all the fuss about honestly I don't know why people...OH NY GOD IT'S LIKE AN ETERNAL HANGOVER' as I was sick in my mouth for the 10th time. Had to abandon a walk to town as I just couldn't do it. Poor DH. Tmi but usually we have a lovely time on hols having abandon free sex. Noooope. No no noooope noooo. Managed some today between the nausea boughts as I felt so sorry for him.

How are you all doing?

Cl1982 could be the heat that's not helping either with the sickness, hope you manage to enjoy the rest of your hols

SS81C · 07/07/2017 12:09

Oh no @CL1982 The heat probably isn't helping today....i have so much to do and I've spent most of the morning lying on the sofa......its way too hot and I'm not in Turkey so I dread to Think how got it is there......

smeerf · 07/07/2017 12:25

Oh CL I'm sorry but I nearly wet myself reading that!

CL1982 · 07/07/2017 15:58

😂😂😂😂😂😂

I aim to make please. It's slackened off a lot this afternoon thank god. That was bad though!!!! Definitely finding it too hot though. Out on a trip tomorrow to some tombs. Should be interesting 😵

If it's any consolation it's 30 odd degrees in London at the moment. Is swimming pool in the shade an option? Might that help cool down/ make you feel more yourself.

I remember when I was on methotrexate a few years back (evil drug) the best cure for the mega hangovers Id get the day after taking it was oddly 800m swimming at pace- even though it was the opposite of what I felt like doing initially .

However- there is no way on earth I could even contemplate that much energy expenditure right now. I'd just about cope with a snooze or gentle swim the shade (were I not still spotting) or an episode of gardeners world watched in a cool dark room.

I'm sure your DH doesn't really mind

SheSaidHeSaid · 07/07/2017 19:28

The tiredness has really kicked in for .me today. I could so easily go to bed now.

Not sure if it's pregnancy or the much lower caffeine intake though.

How's everyone else this evening?

SS81C · 07/07/2017 20:55

@shesaid I'm exhausted too. The OH is on nights and usually I find loads of things to do when he's not here but I haven't moved off the sofa.....nearly vommed at dinner as well when my toddler dipped her pizza in her drink and ate it. Haha!!

CL1982 · 08/07/2017 18:06

I have been napping a lot. I dread being back at work.... Hmm

Same here with the naps, how are you feeling today? Cl1982

pommie7 · 08/07/2017 18:53

Hi everyone, can I jump in too?? Congrats to you all!!!! I think I am at around 7 weeks now, booked with the Gp but been given a telephone appointment which is on Monday. When my period was a few days late I took a test and got a bfn, waited a few more days and got a faint line, took another and the line is much clearer now! I think my pee is diluted as I drink looooads of water!! Only me and my husband know so far so will be great to talk to others in the same boat!! It's my first and we've been TTC for around 7 months. It's happened quicker than we expected as I was on the pill since I was 14 (not that I was having sex then! I suffered with awful period pains!) and I'm 30 now.

I haven't had any sickness yet at all so I'm sure it's on it's way.. been feeling tired and had a few niggly cramps oh and really gassy! Lol other than that it's all been alright so far, touch wood lol x

Lauralou031986 · 08/07/2017 19:13

Congrats pommie hopefully your lucky and don't get any sickness, I never did with my first

CL1982 · 08/07/2017 19:24

Welcome @pommie7 Nice to have you along!

Lauralou actually had a great day today! Not sick at all which has been nice.

Hey ladies, can I join? I'm 4 weeks and 5 days today! Found out last Monday! It's my first! Really nervous! Had been trying for a year and 3 months!!! I know it's too early but don't feel it's real or don't feel any different. Really anxious!!

CL1982 · 09/07/2017 17:32

CL1982 · 09/07/2017 17:35

So where is everyone from and how old are you? Also what's your situ?

We're a boring bog standard hetro couple living in Oxfordshire. I'm 34 (although 35 in 2 months ish) and this is our first. We have been TTC for over 18 months with 3 early miscarriages but we're really positive and excited about this baby! We've nick named it 'Win Nugget' (our silly name for the tokens you win with some card games).

Now you guys!

Live Northamptonshire!
Been trying for a year and 3 months! Didn't think it would ever happen!! It's our first! Have an appointment booked for a fertility referral for end of month! Reminds me....need to cancel that!
Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. :-(
Sending positive vibes to all!!!

KerryLeanne84 · 09/07/2017 18:40

AH welcome Summer and good idea CL to share some more stuff!

I'm 33 living in Nottingham, been off the pill for close to 2years and conceived through NHS iui treatment. Now 5 weeks 3 days along.

Completely with you on the anxiety summer, we've got an early scan on Thursday and I'm so scared 🙏🏻

Summerblush1982 · 09/07/2017 18:50

@KerryLeanne84

Good luck with your scan. I'm tempted to do an early one too just for some piece of mind. Otherwise I'll keep driving myself crazy with googling anything and everything related to pregnancy!
