I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

Thanks Kerry, managed to eat some porridge and feel better. What worried me symptomwise was when I was listing them all, my mum nodding along, then I got to cramps and she looked absolutely horrified. She has no poker face! Thank God for Google.

Have an amazing time in Turkey CL, I'm totally jealous. Hopefully it's somewhere beachy and relaxing. We're thinking of Fethiye in September time, just need to check on if I can fly them etc.

KerryLeanne84 · 05/07/2017 11:04

Bless you Smeerf they are definitely normal! I think we're okay to fly up until after 5 or 6 months - we're looking at doing a 'babymoon' too!

SheSaidHeSaid · 05/07/2017 13:59

Have a lovely time CL !

Still the odd mild cramping here but it's not too bad. Wonder when it stops??

CL1982 · 05/07/2017 15:41

Thanks guys. @shesaidhesaid I find cramps are often dependent on how much I have eaten and whether I need the loo or not. Good news you're feeling better @smeerf I guess our mums went though this a fairly long time ago! Mine is hopeless at remembering what happened with me!!

Today i have mainly snapped at everyone. The lady at Brum airport Boots, the lady at Giraffe restaurant, the woman on the desk at the lounge, DH....Terrible behaviour but just so irritable!!!!

Thursday aswell for us Smile dinner time so not long to wait

smeerf · 06/07/2017 11:13

Feeling a bit behind - I blame the GP receptionist. She didn't tell me to do my self referral thing with the hospital, just booked me in for a GPs appointment in 2 weeks (which I had this morning). The GP was pretty much - 'why are you here?' - gave me a quick once over and sent me home to do my referral.

How far along is everyone who's having their scans? I'm 7+4.

smeerf · 06/07/2017 11:15

BTW Laura and CL, best of luck for your scans, I'm sure they'll go great Grin

Lauralou031986 · 06/07/2017 11:24

Thanks smeeerf

Summer1986 · 06/07/2017 11:41

Been awake since 4:30 this morning, felt a little sickly but otherwise ok.
Phoned the GP this morning to ask what needs to be done to register with the MW and have to complete a form which they will pass on to her. Not expecting an appointment yet though as it's still early days.

I told my boss yesterday as she commented that I didn't look well and wanted to send me home! She knew we were trying and was really happy. I told my best mate too as I felt uncomfortable that my boss knew and she didn't. Definitely not telling anyone else until after a 12 week scan though.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Bee91 · 06/07/2017 12:15

Hi Guys!
I got a positive test yesterday! i'm 4 weeks 5 days today - Due 10th March. Grin
Doesn't feel real, it's my first so all very overwhelming, especially not telling people - other than my partner.
Have to work out when I should tell my manager because of my job, I'm a mental health nurse and I work in a medium secure hospital

Smile
KerryLeanne84 · 06/07/2017 12:58

Omg my scan is Thursday too! 😆

Lauralou031986 · 06/07/2017 13:43

Seems like Thursday is an important and exciting day for some of us mummy's to be Smile

Kannet · 06/07/2017 14:09

Welcome @kannet @bee21 Great news on the IVF result Kannet and great to have you both along.

Yes a few of us are nervous. I think everyone is a little at first especially if the journey has been a long one.

Bee-my boss already knows. I told her about my last losses and she has been extra supportive so I was very transparent with her about this pregnancy. She was glum but very pleased for me!! I guess it's a two edged sword for her.

@Kannet that's so great - my cousin had her first daughter through IVF and then got pregnant with twins the old fashioned way after!

@Bee91 I would let your boss know in confidence as early as possible in case they need to make provisions esp. regarding minimising risk for you. Although it's not like I have much of a frame of reference here as my OH is my boss (kind of, we run a small company together) so he was the first to know anyway...

I love how positive this thread is! Getting me so excited!

KerryLeanne84 · 06/07/2017 18:20

Congratulations Kannet and Bee! I'm due two days before you Bee 🐝

I got pregnant through iui after 2 years of infertility - not sure how long you were trying Kannet but I'm sure it feels unreal to you!

Summer1986 · 06/07/2017 18:41

Welcome everyone!! I agree that this seems a lovely and positive group of ladies, it's so nice to have a little support group!!

blueobsessive · 06/07/2017 20:33

Sorry for being slow to update. @CL1982 advice is not to start pilates in first 12 weeks and only some movements are safe at this stage (nothing in extension as we are getting bendier and I'm avoiding double knee folds or anything strenuous). My teacher recommended this book if anyone is interested

Doing ok, but so knackered (and work seems to peak at this time of year too for some reason) . increased norkage is also boiling in this heat! Hope you are all coping with the heat, biliousness and subterfuge

CL1982 · 06/07/2017 21:43

@blueobsessive thanks for that. I won't take it up. Shame as they offer free classes here! I may take up baby yoga in the second trimester though...

It's nice being here as I can tell anyone I'm preggers and no-one know me 😊

Hi, I'm new to this group. Currently 5+4. Have a boy aged 2 and a previous mc first time I got pregnant. Just moved to the Uk so no idea how it all works here on Nhs but made an appt at gp which is in 2 weeks time. I was private when I lived overseas so don't know if I get a scan at Gp or how it works!!

SS81C · 07/07/2017 08:02

Hi @SineadF
Congratulations!
Usually at your GP appointment they just have a chat -will probably do your blood pressure might test your wee. Depending on the area they might do a pregnancy test to confirm but not everywhere does. They will then refer you to the midwife who will complete all your booking paperwork and she will talk to you about all your appointments and scans.

You will usually be booked in for a scan at the hospital around 12 weeks unless there's a reason you need an earlier scan.
If you're low risk you may only see your midwife and GP during your pregnancy but if you are high risk for any reason you'll see the obstetric team too. Xx
