I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

Hi @CL1982 . Very best of luck tomorrow with the scan. I'm still having spotting too. It calms down for 36 hrs or so (just long enough to think I'm through it) and then it happens again. It's unsettling.

Doorstepped the prematurity clinic today as epagu had said that they are a drop in. Turns out they aren't but they kindly saw me anyway. Now plugged into their system for regular scans of cervix length in case I need a stitch. Got to see heartbeat too which was gorgeous.

Just told my mother. Tears all round (I even cried reading the sup ct judgment on tribunal fees - and, perhaps even less mainstream- the one about taxation appeal time limits!!)

I'm due to be flying to Switzerland next wed for a week. My husband and I have been looking forward to it for ages. I'm now feeling rather windy because for the spotting and because I really want THIS baby. He thinks I'm being a bit over cautious. @CL1982 how did you find flying? Despite the worries, did you enjoy it?

blueobsessive · 26/07/2017 13:16

No idea how I bolded all that apologies !

Mauritian curry recipe PLEASE

Please help if you can! My mum is coming over from Canada on Saturday. Bless her, she's very much like Mrs Bucket (aka Mrs Bouquet) and she is quite a fussy eater but lives curry. Myfamy all love a good curry but I'll admit I have no idea what I'm doing. I really don't want to use s jar and would love a specific recipe I can use again and again.
In my younger days I went to nursing college and there were a fair few Mauritian there. They all cooked one specific gorgeous curry, almost like a soup. It was with chicken and potato and was tomatoey and watery but bloomin divine. I would love this recipe xx If any of you geniuses have this recipe I'd so appreciate it or an alternative. Tomatoey and spicy with chicken or maybe prawns?? ThNkyou so much in advance xxxxx

CL1982 · 26/07/2017 13:47

I'm...I would have a clue! Have you tried the life style board or google @tweetypie19 :)

@blueobsessive it is very scary. I'm glad we have the scan tomorrow. Seems to have calmed down so I'm resting a lot. I did do some heavy lifting on the weekend which I am partially blaming so as I have said, day off work, feet up and just trying to relax!!

I was ok flying but I was much earlier along. I think it's fine honestly-we have another trip booked for October and I don't think it's a prob unless the dr tells you not to...

Welcome @babyjonsie2017

Thanks @CL1982 . Keeping everything crossed...

@Tweetypie19 I tend to do the nick Nairn curry recipe with left over turkey after Xmas. It's reliable and balanced. Not Mauritian but its easy and it works.

If I was attempting Mauritian I'd probably look for recipients by the Mauritian masterchef winner Shelina. Everything she cooked looked as though it would have been great (although as it's tv we can't really tell). She has this one on her website (from the final) . shelinacooks.com/recipes/details/cari-mutton-mauritian-mutton-curry

It has a LOT of fenugreek in it. When I do curry at home I tend not to use fenugreek. It tastes nice at the time but the smell lingers for ages. If you are like me with pregnancy hormones; part woman part beagle, it might be an idea to be careful with fenugreek - y recipes. DH had a curry with it in on Saturday when I was out and I practically marched him out of the door with the bin bag as soon as he had finished eating. Had it not been fenugreek-y I'd probably have finished off any leftovers in a split second.

Mmmm curry ....

CL1982 · 26/07/2017 15:11

I'be been weirdly ok with curry! It seems to be something that doesn't set me off. It's funny how it varies!

I love a good curry but the spices repeat on me just now so having to stay clear 😢😢

SS81C · 26/07/2017 15:34

Booking appointment was fine...just lots of paperwork. They do your blood when you go to your first scan here so no bloods today (I'd psyched myself up for it too!)
I've got my scan booked for next Wednesday! My LMP makes me 12 weeks on Tuesday and even though I think I'm due later than that because we want the nuchal the midwife said to keep that appointment and if I'm too early they'll just rescan.
So that's exciting.
Hmmmm all this talk of curry is making me hungry!

mummyGof2boys · 26/07/2017 16:22

Hubby is taking me out for dinner tonight to the best Italian. Mum is having the boys over night and I'm off tomorrow which means.... a lay in. Get in 😍😍

Lauralou031986 · 26/07/2017 18:12

@mummyGof2boys what's a lie in? Lol

Tweetypie19 · 26/07/2017 18:14

Thanks so much everyone. I'm so embarrassed to have posted my curry request on this forum. It was completely accidental. I am pregnant though so that's my excuse!! Uour advice helped me find the perfect recipe. I'm literally about to serve, although I'll admit there was far more to start with. I can't help myself tasting it.....I keep promising myself it's the last spoonful!!! Xxx

mummyGof2boys · 26/07/2017 18:35

@Lauralou031986 exactly!!! So you know how excited I am for my lay in until 9am 😂😂. It makes a change to the wake up call between 5-6am by the boys. Hubby works away for four weeks at a time so I never get time to myself so I'm super stoaked. How is everyone tonight?

Lauralou031986 · 26/07/2017 18:40

@mummyGof2boys enjoy your evening and your lay in ( I'm not jealous at all Wink) we've just got back from a kiddies party was lots of fun lol

mummyGof2boys · 26/07/2017 18:57

😂😂😂 @Lauralou031986 I was at soft play with 5 children today. And have a kids party on Sunday 😷😷 hate them lol xx

Lauralou031986 · 26/07/2017 19:01

@mummyGof2boys we're at a wedding on Sunday a nice excuse to get dressed up, getting sick of wearing leggings

mummyGof2boys · 26/07/2017 19:25

@Lauralou031986 oh lovely. I have the comfiest jumpsuit on for tonight that i found in the topshop sale rack. Beats maternity jeans and leggings and anything touching my tummy is making me spew 😷😷

CL1982 · 26/07/2017 23:09

Yes that is weird isn't it! Tight clothing def makes you feel sicker....

Well hubby pulled it out the bag tonight and surprised me with an eternity ring that he picked all by himself. He said it was about time I got it since we have been married 6 years with a third baby on the way lol. It's a little big so will need resized but I love it. (It's the middle one).

Anyone just found out they're preggers and want some buddies?
Lauralou031986 · 27/07/2017 07:27

Great group! I'm 7w2d and like clockwork the morning sickness came in full force at week 6.

QUESTION - is anyone else suffering with headaches?? I am on day three of a horrible one and at my wits end! I feel absolutely horrid. :(
