I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

Does anyone have odd pain in the lower right abdomen? I wasn't liking it last night and it's kind of there this morning but now as bad. I assume if it's around the lower 'curve' of the runny it's ligament pain but this feels like it's more inside if that makes sense? Not that I'm worried. Ahem.

@cl1982 no advice sorry but how are you feeling now?

mummyGof2boys · 23/07/2017 10:46

Morning ladies. Had such a good day yesterday with no symptoms (got a bit worried) and today it's hit me with vengeance. Just brought up all my fruit smoothie 😷😷 so horrible. How is everyone?

CL1982 · 23/07/2017 10:52

@1sttime84 yeah fine. Just a little concerned. I'll give the RMU a call tomorrow if it still isn't great. It's much less painful today -painful is the wrong word actually. It's just annoying...I need to stop worrying about every twinge I think!

I'm feeling okay, just super tired (I can see why they say there's a growth spurt in weeks 7/8) and the odd bit of nausea when I go too long without eating. I am afflicted (tmi) with constipation and trapped wind though which is not pleasant! Need to drink more more water.

Claire - that sounds exactly like round ligament pain, especially if it flares up when you move? Definitely go in though if you're feeling worried xxx

blueobsessive · 23/07/2017 16:50

Hi @CL1982 . Mine has been annoyingly twingy, then a load of diarrhoea, now my belly has popped up, just like it was at 20 weeks last time. Maybe it's the uterus shifting- but if worried / it is telling you that something is wrong check it out. I'm sure with your history they wouldn't at all mind.

CL1982 · 23/07/2017 19:04

Thanks all-I may call them tomorrow. It's ok though so far. We have converted the loft and had to get everything up and I did have to explain to dH that I needed to rest regularly which I think frustrated him but he did get it. Hopefully it'll go soon. I'll keep an eye on it. Another thing I thought it could be is the ovarian cyst getting a bit squished. I know I ovulated from the right from the scan so that makes sense. Hopefully it'll all just be a worry come Thursday.

@CL1982 I'm similar - vomiting and nausea for a few days, then a few days respite (when all I can think about are cheese straws). Am also getting pulling/stabby pains just above my groin - painful but not unbearable, and unlike previous miscarriages.
I am comforting myself with the fact that anything that doesn't feel familiar is probably good!

Hope you all have good weeks.

mummyGof2boys · 24/07/2017 18:02

@CL1982 how are the pains now? Did you seek advice? Xx

SS81C · 24/07/2017 18:50

Yes hope you're feeling better today @CL1982

1sttime84 · 25/07/2017 06:25

@CL1982 how are you doing today? x

CL1982 · 25/07/2017 08:29

Hey everyone! A bit reassured. He odd pulling pains are there but nothing else bad and the midwife I spoke to felt it was most likely to be either the ovary and the pal centa starting to talk or growing pains. I did get a bit freaked as my cervix felt very open last night but apparently the outside can feel like that and honestly I need to stop panicking! I may ask the lady at the RMC inn thirsday to check it for me.

How is everyone else?

@CL1982 I know it's harder said than done but try and chill out. You will
Get a lot of pains throughout the pregnancy. As long as it's not accompanied by lots of bleeding then trey to relax and enjoy the ride once the horrendous sickness stops 😂😂 Iv been sick already this morning but now tucking into a big bowl of Frosties mmmm. Nearly 10 weeks already 😱😱 got my booking in appointment on Monday and then scan the following Monday xx

KerryLeanne84 · 25/07/2017 10:21

Hey Claire! I'm similar - need to stop panicking! I had some backache after a long walk on Sunday which is totally normal at 7/8 weeks but I am getting so anxious about everything too. Have my booking in appt on the 10th so I can ask questions then. On the plus side I managed to cycle to work today :)

KerryLeanne84 · 25/07/2017 10:24

Mummy how did you book your scan? I assumed my midwife would do it at my booking in appt?

CL1982 · 25/07/2017 10:29

@mummygof2boys thanks so much! I know i need to stop freaking out. The further i get the more pressure is on. I so want this baby :)

@kerryleanne84 it's so hard though isn't it. Everything you read is also so vague. Also as my husband said we just need to be positive and keep looking forwards which is lovely. I'm def looking forward to my scan on Thursday. I think i will relax a lot more after it!!!! So long as i see a wiggly bean with a nice strong heartbeat i'll be happy.

Kerry - the midwife told me the hospital would send me a letter once they sent my booking info to them. I had my booking appointment on Friday and the hospital called on Monday to book me in. Have it in two weeks but was expecting it to be later as will only be 10 weeks then.

KerryLeanne84 · 25/07/2017 11:20

Ah great thanks 1sttime! I just got a booklet of info from my local hospital and it said the scan can be anytime between 8 and 12 weeks in there.

The leaflets I got included

  • If you're an alcoholic, that's a bad idea when you're pregnant!
  • Here are some options for where to have your baby - my options are home birth (nope!), birth sanctuary (with midwives but no epidurals) or labour suite (with option of epidurals but still nice with birthing pools etc).
  • Here are all the tests you can have during your pregnancy - for downs and other genetic diseases etc, plus when they're a newborn. Sobering reading!
Sah2241 · 25/07/2017 11:40

Hi everyone. Glad to hear you are all doing well despite the nausea, aches and pains! I'm 11 weeks today but still have no date for my booking appointment and scan! I phoned last week and apparently I could be 15 weeks before I get a dating scan! It's going to be such a long wait, especially as I'm just starting to show- goodness knows what size I'll be in 4 weeks time so it'll be really difficult to hide it at work!!

CL1982 · 25/07/2017 11:59

@sah2241 That is mad! How have they managed to leave it so long?

if i may offer advice I'd be on the phone getting them to sort it out asap. You shouldn't have to wait that long to tell work....

OP posts:
Sah2241 · 25/07/2017 12:12

Apparently they have a backlog at the moment and that is just how long it takes. I agree it is outrageous. I'm in Northern Ireland where we're not offered the nuchal test so the timing is less of an issue here but it would still be good to have some confidence that everything is progressing as it should be. Also we have our booking appointment and scan at the same time here, so I won't even have seen a midwife until 15 weeks! I had my first baby in Scotland and the whole process was really smooth and supportive - it all seems very different here 😕

CL1982 · 25/07/2017 12:27

@sah2241 could you organise a scan over here on the mainland just to double check all was ok? Personally the only reason we're waiting until after the whole 12 week timing is due to the nuchal testing. God forbid we ever needed to make a horrible decision. I know things are different over there though :(

They do seem disorganised in Oxfordshire as well if that helps - no-one seemed to know who i spoke to first and it does seem like the app with the midwife is the thing that kicks it all off. I know i'm having reassurance scans so it's a little different but it does feel quite complicated!

OP posts:
1sttime84 · 25/07/2017 12:32

Don't you have two scans for that? I'm having the screening done too but thought that was done a bit later on.
