I'm 4w5d and wondered if anyone else fancied joining me on the amazing journey to come?
First, second, third or fourth (or more!!) timers welcome!

This will be #1 after a long 18 months of miscarriages, infertility and heartache but i'm feeling super positive about this one and ready to enjoy the next few months!

@1sttime84, how come?

1sttime84 · 18/07/2017 10:26

They've changed it a few times over the years but I was told 'due to the ethnic diversity of the area' they won't tell if a boy or girl. I don't mind either way but would be nice to be able to buy non neutral clothes when the time comes. Have my first midwife appointment on friday so will double check.

CL1982 · 18/07/2017 11:37

@1sttime84 I do understand why they wouldn't do it as it can take some searching and often they need to get the measurements etc however I may just pay for a private scan to see if we can find it out if they get pissy with me. What area are you in? We're Oxford which i'm guessing would be similar....?

I'm on am American site (BabyCentre) and lots of them get their sexing scans super early - around 16 weeks. So if they keep scanning i may ask the sonographer for a sneaky look.....!

@CL1982 how are you feeling today?
I'll be using Watford General. We may pay for a scan to see later down the line if we feel we can't wait. Part of me wants to be prepared and the other part wants to be surprised.

CL1982 · 18/07/2017 12:47

@1sttime84 Yes i know the feeling!! I am actually ok. It definitely comes in waves though. I wasn't ok at around 10.30am and actually now am feeling slightly more human :) I wonder if the Preggie Pop i had has helped. It's meant to have stuff in it to calm down morning sickness and nausea.....i will literally be living the dream if it's fixed it!!

Hello fellow threaders. So - a little fluttery heartbeat on the scan!!! We are thrilled. It's a little small for dates and a towards the low end of the normal heart rate range (now nicknamed Little lebowski) so another scan in a fortnight just before we go to Switzerland.

@CL1982 yes to the bras and the constipation. Luckily I had some Bras from last time (bhs- who'd have thought I'd miss Sir Philip Green??!). The trick is padded but no wires. For night time I used those vest tops with the bra shelf. For constipation I find movicol and swimming were the answer - still can't swim though as still spotting so maxing out on the movicol (or poo powder as DH helpfully calls it).

You are lucky not to. E getting the salivary changes. If you saw that news story about the truck of slime eels that overturned in the Usa, that will give you an idea of the sensation. Not so pleasant.

Now, back to work

mummyGof2boys · 18/07/2017 16:12

Having another rough one today and have mindees. I just want to curl up in my bed and sleep off the sickness. Hubby is back tomorrow for four weeks. This has been a very long sick four weeks away lol can't wait to have someone to lean on. How are you all today?

CL1982 · 18/07/2017 16:23

You poor thing @mummyGof2boys :(

I just got preggy pops and they are brilliant. I have also radically changed my eating habits and smaller portions are definitely helping.

My boobs are very sore and today, joy of joys, my nipple started itching. Ah pregnancy. You are so indelicate....

mummyGof2boys · 18/07/2017 16:38

@CL1982 do you think they have helped. Where did you get them? My stomach is huge today for nearly 9 weeks. Scared there are two in there. I couldn't cope with twins 😳😳 Iv had the itchy nips too

CL1982 · 18/07/2017 16:46

A company called purple turtle. They are pricey but do seem to work!! I'm impressed so far. The packaging is not very discreet however 😂 I got two packs for £12 next day delivery....

I may invest in some then. Iv actually
Made the effort to make my children a proper meal tonight from scratch and any betting they don't eat it 😂😂 it's so hot here. What's it like everywhere else?

CL1982 · 18/07/2017 16:51

P.s statistically it's unlikely to be twins. I get the bloating though-my jeans are very tight!!! Have you tried the elastic band trick on trousers and jeans?

mummyGof2boys · 18/07/2017 17:00

@CL1982 I hope to god you are right lol I do not want two babies. Anything touching my belly is making me sick so I dragged out all my maxi dresses and have been wearing them.

Sah2241 · 18/07/2017 17:21

CL1982 I tried a few different maternity/nursing bras during my first pregnancy and the ones I found most comfortable were Bravado Body Silk seamless nursing bras. They're really stretchy and soft but still felt supportive enough for me. Even after I stopped breastfeeding I kept them and brought them out on fat days when nothing else would do 😂😂

Azalea08 · 18/07/2017 20:47

I m so excited to see all your positive tests ladies, 2 years ago I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks but when I went to the doctors there test was negative and they said the clear blue are really good at picking up even the slightest bit of hormone so to be sure get a cheap test as they need a stronger hormone to prove positive , don't want to be a bore but just thought I would share my experience :-)

LJFM2B · 19/07/2017 10:11

I usually drink at least 2-3 cups of tea a day and the past 2 weeks i havent wanted one... its not so much that it makes me feel sick but i just dont fancy it to be honest... glad im not the only one.

My mum said she had the same with my brother, so im now thinking im cooking up a baby boy :)

Its hard but im going to wait (dont know how i will resist the question from the nurse)

Looking forward to finding out what you ladies are having when you know.

Any body else showing slightly?

CL1982 · 19/07/2017 10:50

I think it's just wind sadly 😂

KerryLeanne84 · 19/07/2017 11:08

I'm sure my stomach feels firmer lower down (maybe from the uterus expanding) but it could well be in my mind! Telling DHs close family today.

CL1982 · 19/07/2017 11:59

@kerryleanne84 That is so exciting!! Yes i do know what you mean. I don't know when the uterus starts to rise up??

Just spent an hour waiting for my first GP consultation. Sigh. Also got my 'pack'. So overwhelming. So much stuff....

OP posts:
KerryLeanne84 · 19/07/2017 12:48

Oh no, why was it an hour? Just long waiting times in your GP? I had one on Monday but it wasn't too long.

He didn't give me anything yet though, just took my details, weight, height and blood pressure and said the midwife will call me.

Just saw the stat on mumsnet that one in ten women smoke during pregnancy. Crazy.

CL1982 · 19/07/2017 13:02

Say whhhaaaat?! Crazy.

Mine wasn't even that helpful!!! Spoke to the midwife though this AM for my booking in app and she was a little more supportive.

OP posts:
mummyGof2boys · 19/07/2017 13:42

Yes yes yes my stomach is huge today!!! I'm nearly nine weeks and I'm the ovia app it says it's just coming out the pelvis. This is my third though so no tummy muscles left lol

Anyone just found out they're preggers and want some buddies?
1sttime84 · 19/07/2017 13:50

@CL1982 cheese sandwiches have become my new best friend. Thank you 👍🏽

LJFM2B · 19/07/2017 14:03

@mummyGofboys this is my first, so @CL1982 might be right Shock- looking tiered and having wind SO glamorous.

Although i know i have noticed a big change lower tummy this past week and its not going down at all! i like it :)

Id attach a picture put my phones full with crap ... i need to do ALOT of deleting to start my progress photos and snaps of the baby when he/she comes :)

I know its early days but im so excited.

Cheese sandwich sounds good right now haha

CL1982 · 19/07/2017 14:34

@LJFM2B I agree with the tummy - my trousers are very tight today. I keep wondering when my uterus will pop up. Seriously - where is all being stored?! It can't fit in there surely....

@1sttime85 yest they're a god send. Also been having half a baked potato with cheese on. Healthy? No. Can i keep it down? Yes! Although usually my plate is piled high so i'm not sure colleague aren't a little sus!!
