i had hypremesis with one and nothing with the other.....both boys.

JodieG1 · 22/03/2007 08:01

I felt the same with both boys and my girl, just felt sick but never actually was.

dejags · 22/03/2007 08:13

Well I am a text book old wives tale:

DS1 & DS2

morning sickness was pretty dire, getting worse each time. However, it stopped at 12 weeks

linea nigra with both

carried HUGE and put on stacks of weight (approx. 60lbs each time).

DD (due in 8 weeks)

Absolutely hideous morning sickness - I was vomiting until around 20 weeks and horrifyingly it seems to be coming back now at 32 weeks.

No linea nigra

Moderate weight gain and not carrying that big (expecting to put on about 25lbs).

So my experience is that boy pregnancies are totally different to girl pregnancies.

lins1uk · 22/03/2007 08:13

never sick with both pregnancys got a daughter and pregnant with boy now due 2 days ago!
i did notice that boy was way more active then girl was when they first started moving around that why i thought i was having a boy with girl my boobs hurt so bad but not with boy i just had headaches all the time but every pregnancy is diffrent,
good look.

I never had ms with the boys or the girls. Just headaches...with both. Only difference I noticed was that I had a preference for savoury food with the boys and a sweet tooth with the girls.

Flamesparrow · 22/03/2007 08:33

The same - sickness was better with boy, but that was down to stopping milk allergy

teabags · 22/03/2007 08:37

Similar pregnancies physically with both DS1 & DS2
No MS, carried the same (high and up front), similar weight gain, more of a sweet tooth with DS2.
I was happy happy happy with DS1 and a real grouch when preg with DS2!
Linea nigra with DS1 was very obvious form fairly early on, but I only had a very faint line with DS 2 which appeared very late on in the pregnancy

beegee · 22/03/2007 08:53

Very hungry with carrying my boy - less with my girl. Worse morning sickness with boy, however

colditz · 22/03/2007 08:53

Felt sick both times (2 boys), was actually sick a lot more with DS2 (thought he was a girl for that reason!). I don't think you can read that much into it tbh. Had migraines with both, and put on less weight second time (but then DS1 was 18 months to 2 while I was pg....)

Good luck!

brimfull · 22/03/2007 09:03

I didn't feel any different carrying either sex.

Twinmummyx2 · 24/03/2007 11:22

I didn't feel any different with any of mine....carried the same, never has sickeness even with the twins x2!

I have to say the 'heartbeat' test worked with all my children....Shannon was always in the 150's and the boys always in the 130's (the border line is 140)..even with my boy/girl twins we could tell which one was where by recording the heartbeats!
I know this dosen't work for everyone....my girls are more lively than my boys now..always have been so that maybe why. My sister is currently 28 weeks pregnant and her babies heatbeat has always been low..and at the scan they confirmed a boy .

But other than that i would never have been able to tell the difference with any of mine (2 girls, 6 boys).

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/03/2007 11:40

dc1 - BOY
dc2 - GIRL
BOth pregnancys exactly the same....... No morning sickness, no symptoms, bumps the same etc, etc...

dc3 - SURPRISE Due at the same time as you Completely different, sickness, fatigue, heartburn, achey back and generally feeling **ap.

Naturally I don't think there is anything in it.
Hoping it's still a boy or a girl.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/03/2007 11:43

Although it wouldn't surprise me if I was carrying a huge jaffacake in here.

RedFraggle · 24/03/2007 13:36

I had morning sickness from day one with my dd, with this pregnancy (scan says boy) I had very mild morning sickness until about 13 weeks, then was sick everyday until about 17 weeks and then it just stopped.
I think this baby seems a lot more active than I remember dd being.
My bumps have been very similar though - all up front like a football both times.

Tutter · 24/03/2007 14:01

ah will blow any theories out of the water

ds1: no sickness, no tiredness, felt and looked fine

ds2 (currently 23wks pg): nausea, exhaustion, bad bad skin, huuuuge bump

incy · 24/03/2007 19:43

Yes I am afraid I also had 2 different experiences

with DS1 I bloomed, no sickness, very small bump.

Ds2 (currently pg) awful skin, massive bump, sick for 5 months, still waiting to bloom at 7.5 months !!

In fact I look so awful I keep being told I must be having a girl even though I know is def. another boy.

hunkermunker · 24/03/2007 19:43

I had very different pregnancies and two boys.

kellogs · 24/03/2007 20:08

Big fat & uncomfy, my 2 boys were 10 lb 8oz & 8 lb 4 oz (2 weeks early) now my 3rd boy is also off the scale!! Morning sickness all the way through & extreme cravings for chinese food

nickytwotimes · 24/03/2007 20:09

i've got one boy
sick as a dog but otherwise a good pregnancy. didn't feel to huge. if it's a girl next time, i'll be able to do a comparison!
