how are you today halloumi?

Brenna24 · 24/07/2017 09:22

Thinking of you today Halloumi. Have you managed to call your midwife or EPU?

rider1975 · 24/07/2017 12:26

Halloumi we're all thinking of you. How are you getting on?

Thank you for the warm welcome

halloumisandwich · 24/07/2017 13:07

Thanks all. Tried EPU but they're fully booked so won't see me. DH has stayed off work with me so we're attempting to distract ourselves with films and wishing the day away! It's mostly brown discharge now and not as much so not lost all hope yet. The waiting is awful though! X

Miami81 · 24/07/2017 13:42

Halloumi
I am so sorry that you are having such an anxious time. Please please take the fact that it has settled down to brown as a good sign.
I bled from week 5 all the way through to week 13. It was occasionally red, mostly brown, sometimes even like a light period. It turned out that I had both a funny shaped uterus and a hematoma that just kept on bleeding. So whilst it is massively scarey and the waiting is awful I really hope that it is all just one of those worrisome but fine things for you.
I still don't leave the house without a few pads in my bag and at 18 weeks it has now become a little bit of a superstition for me - like if I don't have them I might need them!!
Anyway holding your hand. Distraction is a great idea. What time is your scan tomorrow?

peachgreen · 24/07/2017 14:08

@halloumisandwich So sorry for the anxiety you're going through - the waiting is the worst, my stomach is in knots just remembering what it's like. I agree that it being brown and not having got worse is a very good sign. I had bleeds at 6+3 and 8+3 and all is fine for us (or at least it was yesterday at our 14 week scan) and I'm praying it's the same for you. Flowers

halloumisandwich · 24/07/2017 14:33

Thank you, reassuring to know others have gone through similar and it's all been ok. It's at 8:45 tomorrow so I'll be waiting impatiently at the hospital in 18 hours time

AmyB1986 · 24/07/2017 14:43

@halloumisandwich I hope your scan goes well tomorrow and the bleeding stops. Must be such a worrying time for you.

Our house spring clean is almost complete but I've lost all motivation over the last day or so. I think the tooth ache and lack of sleep has sent me out of sync, feeling hungover is the only way to describe it.

Hope everyone else is ok

TeaAndPjs · 24/07/2017 15:21

Sorry you're going through this halloumi

Well i had a scan this morning and I'm not holding out much hope, should be 6-7 weeks and she struggled to see much tho there is a yolk sac and what she thinks is the beginning of a fetal pole but can't be sure, said I'm just not as far on as I thought but this is exactly what's happened both other times! Just need to wait till next week now and see

anxiouscrazycatlady · 24/07/2017 15:26

Hi ladies, I haven't posted on here for a while but I had a scan this morning and found out I've had another miscarriage. It's only my second one so the NHS won't do any investigations, but I wanted to know if any of you have paid privately for tests and have managed to have a successful pregnancy afterwards?

peachgreen · 24/07/2017 15:31

@catlady I'm so sorry for your loss. Flowers

Brenna24 · 24/07/2017 15:54

peach I am so sorry I forgot to ask about your scan yesterday. So glad it went well.

halloumi we are standing with you until tomorrow.

Tea I hope it is ok. Flowers

CrazyCatLady. I am so sorry. I had NHS investigations after 3 miscarriages which showed up nothing. Then I had tests at two private clinics. Both found something. They are both treating me and I am now further on that i have ever got, although not yet out of the woods. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them.

Miami81 · 24/07/2017 15:59

I am sorry @anxiouscrazycatlady please mind yourself and try and take it as easy on yourself as you can. To be honest I was exactly the same as you after my second mc, I just focussed so much on getting answers, I think it helped me cope a little bit.
Anyway I managed to get referred to NHS for tests mainly due to funny uterus shape and my gp really pushing for it due to family history. They were unable to find anything, but I at least felt like I had managed something.
I had investigated private tests and was thinking of going to Coventry for the scratch test and nk cells test (as I had had the clotting etc on NHS).
In my current pregnancy I self medicated with aspirin for the first trimester and have since been prescribed it anyway. Everything seems ok so far as I am 18 weeks and not suggesting that everyone should take it, but do some reading on it and maybe ask any consultant that you manage to see.
But again - make sure to mind yourself through the next bit. Here to hold your hand.

Miami81 · 24/07/2017 16:01

@TeaAndPjs
Everything crossed for you.

FuzzyOwl · 24/07/2017 16:05

@ElleyBear13 I knew something wasn't right from around the time I miscarried both times. I've also had two pregnancies where I was really worried but didn't have that intuition of miscarriage and went on to have successful babies. I am pregnant now and so far, whilst very worried, I think things are ok for now.

Sending lots of positive vibes for tomorrow @halloumisandwich.

That is great news @peachgreen and I hope you are feeling a little more relaxed now.

So sorry @anxiouscrazycatlady. Flowers

Thinking of you @TeaAndPjs.

peachgreen · 24/07/2017 16:06

@Brenna24 Bless you, thank you so much. It was great. I'd really recommend a private scan to anyone who can afford it - it was £39 and really thorough, she took lots of measurements and ruled out some NT defects, and also showed us that brain and stomach development was normal. So reassuring.

peachgreen · 24/07/2017 16:07

Thanks @FuzzyOwl, definitely more relaxed now.

peachgreen · 24/07/2017 16:07

@TeaAndPjs So sorry you're going through this, that wait is so, so horrible.

TeaAndPjs · 24/07/2017 18:22

Thanks ladies! It's the 3rd time I've been here since October so feeling totally deflated with it

anxiouscrazycatlady · 24/07/2017 18:37

Oh TeaAndPjs I've just read your previous post, I think we must have crossed posts. You poor thing. I'm 2nd time this year now :( I hope this next week isn't too awful, although I think the waiting is the worst. Try and keep as busy as you can.

halloumisandwich · 24/07/2017 18:53

So sorry teaandpjs and catlady. My bleeding has got worse again and there's been some big clots so pretty sure this is it for me. May as well go along tomorrow now though. So gutted. I was 11 weeks last time and i'm just over 12 this time so i feel like it must be something wrong with me to have got this far both times. Thanks for being so lovely all of you.

Lifeofpies · 24/07/2017 19:23

I'm so so sorry anxiouscrazycatlady Flowers

halloumi and teaandpjs, I've got everything crossed for you both.

mogulfield · 24/07/2017 19:26

Some bad news and anxious waits on here today, you're not alone ladies, we've all been there and know how each hour until a scan just drags.
I hope tea and halloumi get good news soon and I'm sorry cat was it a MMC? I haven't had 3 consecutive MC only 2 (and what I think it a chemical 3rd) and healthy boy in between so they wouldn't look into it.

anxiouscrazycatlady · 24/07/2017 19:32

Oh halloumi I'm so sorry :( I felt a tiny bit of odd relief today as at least I knew and could stop checking for blood every time I went to the loo. I'm sure I'll feel differently when this all fully sinks in though. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

It was a MMC again, mogulfield. I was meant to be 9+4 but it had stopped growing around 7 weeks, which is exactly what happened before. I even had a bleed at 6 weeks both times, with a follow up scan showing a heart beat. It makes me think something happens around then that my body just can't process or deal with.

mogulfield · 24/07/2017 19:36

I'm sorry cat I think they're the hardest to deal with, as you think everything is ok. Did you have symptoms? With mine, looking back, I had horrendous pain when it happened and then symptoms stopped. I just thought I was having an easy pregnancy.
