I'm waddling, tired and still in work! 30 weeks tomorrow... Anyone else on board the 10 week count down train??

I'm 30 weeks on Sunday so I'll join you. I am the size of a small country, and limping with SPD. Other than that, all is great. I'm really over getting on the tube now, but 5 weeks left at work (and only part-time at that) and I can be done with it for a good while! When do you finish work?

MissBax · 16/06/2017 07:28

Whatwould - eeeek how exciting! Congratulations 🎊
I'm waddling alot too, although trying to walk to work and back most days (when I'm not too exhausted), which is about a mile and a half each way.
I'm meant to be working up until 37+6! 😖 but they have told me not to push myself too much. Got my checklist which is getting ticked off each week - still need a breast pump and a few extras. Is this your first?

Congratulations to you too! No, it's my second- I have a 3yr old DS. I'm only working another 5 weeks; had a load of holiday to use and don't think I'll manage the 1.5 hour each way commute much longer! I still need a few bits but have a lot left over from DS. Do you know what you're having? We didn't find out first time round but this time DS was so adamant he wanted a sister we thought we should check and prep him. He's getting a brother. Smile

MissBax · 16/06/2017 08:07

Oh you must have your hands full then! Yes we found out - we're having a girl. Very excited as OH's family are all boys. This will be the first girl born into their family in years.
Has your DS come round to the idea of having a little brother?

Ooo can I join in! 30+6 today and so over being fat and boiling hot!!

On the plus side only 6 weeks left at work!

MissBax · 16/06/2017 08:29

MissT - absolutely, welcome Grin all aboard the fatty train 🚂 😉
How are you managing? Is this baby no1/2/3? Do you know what you're having, or keeping it a surprise?

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 16/06/2017 09:19

Can I hop on too please? 32 weeks today & feeling blah... I'm at that point where it's so near & yet so far. I've had sciatica since 16 weeks, spd since 18 weeks & I'm so ready for them to bugger off. Hoping I'll feel a bit better once we're in July- the finish line will properly be in sight then!

MissT2095 · 16/06/2017 09:29

This will be baby number 1! I was too impatient to not find out the sex. We're having a little boy! DP was praying for one!!

I thought I'd escaped the stretch marks up until this week! All of a sudden it looks like I've been dunked in a shredder!!

WhatwouldRuthdo · 16/06/2017 11:26

Oh don't say that about the stretch marks MissT! I escaped in pregnancy one and so far this time, but I'm far bigger this time round and know my luck can't last forever.

I sympathise with the SPD pain Bernards. I've had it since 13 weeks and it sucks. My whole pelvis cracks when I get out of bed!

MissBax · 16/06/2017 12:47

Ahhh I've managed to avoid stretch marks up till now so hoping I can keep it up (although I don't know how or what I'm doing)!
MissT - we couldn't wait either, we also had a 3D scan on Wednesday - it was AMAZING!! I'd recommend to anyone!

30 weeks on Sunday, feels like no time left but also ages depending on the day. Starting to ach now and feeling very heavy. By the way some of you might already be on ( I can't remember everyone's usernames) but there is a Facebook page for August due dates which is really active if anyone wanted adding xx

MissT2095 · 16/06/2017 15:44

Why have none of you got stretch marks?! I've used every ridiculous cream going but it's looks worse by the day at this point.

I feel like I'm carrying a lot of water weight at this point too. Even my fingers have gone chubby.

MissBax · 16/06/2017 18:01

Gosh I walked into and around town today and now my back and feet are THROBBING - I won't be doing that again.
I did discover that Neal's Yard have some lovely mother and baby things - the gift sets work out much cheaper than the individual items and I think some are for stretch marks, maybe have a snoop MissT

Hello everyone, can I join in? I'm 29 weeks pregnant today with twins, they will be inducing me at 36 weeks, so only 7 weeks left for me. I'm huge, uncomfortable and my feet have swollen up! I'm still working and driving an hour each way. I still have so much to organise and prepare 🙈

OkyDoke · 16/06/2017 18:25

30 weeks tomorrow too OP! Still working and expect to be for 8 more weeks! Struggling this week with heat, anaemia, an infection and spd. Everyone says it will be worth it. 😊

MissBax · 16/06/2017 18:42

Welcome Ella and Oky :)
I can't even imagine how you must be feeling with twins!! It must be insane!
Has anyone got any plans for their maternity leave before baby arrives? I would like to believe I'll be making use of the time - cooking meals to freeze etc, but I think I'll mainly just be sat on my arse eating Ben & Jerry's 😂

Archip17 · 16/06/2017 19:11

Oh there's lots of us! I'm also 30 weeks on Sunday and have six weeks left of work.

This is my second baby so I should be used to sleepless nights, but the insomnia is killing me! Very tired and grumpy!

chelle85 · 16/06/2017 19:51

I'm slightly further on at 31+2 but so over being pregnant. I'm in work for another 6 weeks but I will be doing 4 days after next week with Wednesdays off so I only have to face two days at a time. This is my first (and only!) and we are having a boy

MissBax · 16/06/2017 21:48

I'm starting to think working till basically 38 weeks might be a mistake when everyone else is finishing a few weeks earlier!

OP posts:
Archip17 · 16/06/2017 21:54

@MissBax I think it depends on your job. I think I could work a couple more weeks this time, but am finishing then to have the summer holidays with my son.

I finished at 34 weeks last time (because of Christmas holidays) and my son was two weeks late. It was a LONG wait!

If you start to really feel it in the next few weeks would you be able to finish a bit earlier?

MissBax · 16/06/2017 22:07

Archip - yes work have been very accomodating and have reduced some of my more strenuous activity so I am reasonably sedentary during the bulk of the working day. I was so keen to go right up, and you're right - if she's overdue (which MW has said is likely) then I would be bored and restless I think!!

OP posts:
ErneyAndAgnes · 17/06/2017 10:57

31+4 with my first here and starting to feel like it now. So tired, so hot, so fat...[sigh].
It feels like aaaaages till the due date and not very long at all at the same time, and I go from wanting it to come quicker to wanting him to stay put a bit longer, its a rollercoaster!

Can't wait to finish work, though I don't quite know what I'm going to do with all that free time, probably nap a lot and sit in the garden in the sun, hopefully! Must get some books to read to keep my mind occupied. 4 weeks to go and counting!

ErneyAndAgnes · 17/06/2017 10:57

MissBax why does your midwife think you'll be overdue?

EllaNB · 17/06/2017 11:07

I'm hoping to work for another 4 weeks and then finish work at 33 weeks which will give me three weeks until the twins arrive :) if I was able to I would try and work even longer but I think I'm just going to be to big and to uncomfortable.

WhatwouldRuthdo · 17/06/2017 16:53

I can't even imagine carrying twins Ella, and know I would need a break by 33 weeks! MissBax I would work longer if I didn't have the mammoth commute. If work are flexible it sounds like you can finish earlier if you need.
