Hey guys!

Will have a catch up whilst I'm in the bath tonight, I might aswell just live in there at the minute. What have I missed?

30 +3 here today, suffering with what midwife thinks is spd. Got some stuff through the post today, advice how to manage etc and if it doesn't work I have to self refer to physio. Sleeping has gone to shit too. But I seem to be able to get up easier in a morning!

At a wedding tomorrow too so that should be fun!!

Ohb0llocks · 07/09/2017 20:06

@Dollydaydream2829 that's right just behind you with 13/11 as EDD. DS was 12 days late though! But I'm hoping maybe we won't be late this time. From what I can feel he's head down pretty low already at 30+3 but then again that means nothing!

bakingmad83 · 07/09/2017 21:43

Nice to hear from you Ohb0llocks :) Sorry to hear you may have SPD, my sister in law had that with her second, hope the advice you've got helps. Lack of sleep when pregnant isn't much fun is it. DS is back to waking several times a night and in the end usually let him in with us, but not wanting to ingrain that habit with DD's arrival in November. I'm 30 weeks today. Enjoy the wedding tomorrow!

It's our wedding anniversary on the 13th, but my parents will be away, so went out for an early anniversary lunch today. Went to a pub that specialises in seafood, followed by a walk round the harbour, so nice relaxing afternoon. Going back to the NE over the weekend to visit DH's family and will pop into Ikea to get a couple of bits - new cot mattress and going to let DS choose a picture for his little sis's room :)

BellaMoon · 08/09/2017 07:45

morning ladies

iv had a hellish few days due to this groin/pubic ligament issue. drugs they've given me are making me really sick so they are out the window. hot water bottle and ice are the only things helping. i can't even get in the bath as separating my legs to get in/out is too much to bear. think it's similar to SPD @Ohb0llocks such discomfort (and pain in my case as iv overstretched or torn the pubic ligament). hope yours eases off. i have physio in 2-3 weeks and they hinted at a brace and crutches so i'm trying to do my best to rest and hope i undo any damage before then! can't be hobbling around for another 14 weeks at least!

lovely sounding anniversary afternoon @bakingmad83. sounds bliss! sorry to hear DS is waking at night. last thing you need right now. how's things on the
house front?

@AmandaP86x i have loved buying all my blue bits and bobs, not that i get a chance as gran and aunties have gone into supermarket sweep mode. congrats again, made up for you

working from home today as boss felt sorry for me hobbling around. looking forward to sitting down and not having to move much! was supposed to be away with friends to their caravan at the coast for the weekend but i just can't face it. so chilled weekend for me. what you lovely ladies up to? xxx

AmandaP86x · 08/09/2017 22:19

Aw @BellaMoon that's such a shame 😭😭 u poor thing. That's good u can work from home though get as much rest as possible!!

I am shattered today honestly it's all I say! Sorted Mat leave so hopefully finish up at 36 weeks - I don't know if I'll make it to then honestly lol!!!!! 13 hour shifts r brutal.

Xx

bakingmad83 · 11/09/2017 06:34

Sorry to hear you've had such a tough week Bella and had to change your weekend plans, hopefully you were able to take it easy.

Glad you've got your mat leave sorted Amanda, guess you can always bring it forward if you really need to, but imagine you want as much as possible at the other end.

On the house front, the lady has reluctantly accepted our offer, but says won't give any further reduction if survey throws up anything - we'd just have to walk away from it if anything major came up. Not getting too attached to house yet, as obviously still got to sell ours and then always a chance someone will come along with a higher offer, though hoping everyone who'd have wanted it has already seen it with it being on the market so long. Chosen an agent and they're coming on Weds to take pics, so hoping will be on the market by the end of the week. My parents have offered to mind DS when we have viewers, just hope we're not inundated at first, as they're away for 10 days - DS thought he was being helpful pointing out various things to the estate agents when they came out to value :)

How was everyone's weekend? Any appointments or scans this week?

I've got my 31 week appointment on Thursday.

Roseandbee · 11/09/2017 14:59

Just been catching up on the thread. I'm currently on holiday in Corfu, managed to catch a cold and still puking 🙈 Although if it wasn't for the cold I'm pretty sure eating more often and the sea air is making me feel better.
Bella sorry to hear about your slip! Sounds so painful:-/ hope it start to improve soon
Dolly I've had a slight bleed after sex, my gums have started bleeding lots n a bit of nose bleed, guess it all the extra blood pumping around.
Anna it's exciting your feeling movement, I've been feeling it for about two weeks now, not managed to get DH to feel it though.
Amanda congrats on the boy! And glad your scan went well.
Baking I'm a serial mover, from memory you do get a lot of interest the first two weeks but u could schedule the appointments a bit later, hope you get an offer soon!

Roseandbee · 11/09/2017 15:01

Ohb what are your spd symptoms? I keep getting stuck in positions which I find difficult to move out of, don't know if every has this, also have to flip sides about 10 times a night due to hip pain

Ohb0llocks · 11/09/2017 19:40

@Roseandbee I'm not sure if it is SPD, but my right rear lower rib hurts when I stand, I can only walk short distances or my hips feel like they're going to shatter, I can't lift my right leg up properly (hilarious on stairs), constantly rolling over in bed because I'm in pain, and to be brutally honest my fanny feels like it's gone 10 rounds!

BUT all being said I bloody love being pregnant, every time he kicks (which is now starting to wind me 😂) it's a reminder of how bloody lucky I am!

Roseandbee · 11/09/2017 20:25

Lol at the 10 rounds! Ohb but that does sound shitty. I think the struggling to walk and hip pain sound like spd. I'm wondering if my symptoms are the start of it or just normal pregnancy pain. That's a brilliant attitude ohb. I do occasionaly have to give myself a slap to stop feeling sorry for myself. But i do try and put things into perspective most of the time, like I've been sick longer than average but some poor women have ended up in hospital with it and have felt a lot worse than me. Plus I'm greatful I can just take it easy most the time, don't know how I'd cope trying to look after a toddler like this or working long shifts. I've literally been able to work from home in bed.

bakingmad83 · 11/09/2017 20:46

Hope you're enjoying your hol Rose despite the sickness and cold. Sorry to hear you're having probs with pain too. Touch wood not had any issues so far, but shouldn't speak too soon, as still 10 weeks to go. Thanks for the suggestion, think we'll just let viewers come round at a time we're both about, so one of us can play with DS in garden or take him out, as want to get things moving asap.

Totally forgot the health visitor was coming round at 1.30 today for our antenatal visit till DH reminded me at lunchtime! Not sure if they do these everywhere, had one for DS, but we were apparently one of the first in our area to have one. Just to see if you need any extra support before/after baby arrives, so asked quite a lot of questions re health and social info, but not much different than you'd have told midwife at booking - in case you're wondering! Was only here half an hour.

AmandaP86x · 11/09/2017 22:57

Hi girls

Hope you r all well!

21+3 today. Still feeling wee kicks and flutters it's nice.

Went to look at prams on Saturday - god I have no IDEA!!!!! I think I'm going to go for a stokke - all reviews welcome lol!!!

xxx

Roseandbee · 12/09/2017 17:59

Well keep us updated baking, I'm like a total property addict, watch location location all the time. My current house was actually on it, couldnt convince my DH to view it till it popped up on the show and I was like "there's that house I was on about!"

I'm still dithering over prams Amanda, i keep getting people telling me not to bother with a travel system or at least spending loads as they just ended with a folding stroller for ease

bakingmad83 · 12/09/2017 20:39

Will do Rose :) We got on well with our Silver Cross Pioneer, still use it now at 32 months for naps or if I know I'm going to have a lot to carry, and never actually got a stroller. Mind you, it is heavy, plus DS's weight, so quite hard going at the mo, so maybe next time round once DD is older we'll sell it and put the money towards a stroller. I guess it depends how you travel. We're rural, no bus through village and trains often not at suitable times, never flown either - guess if we'd used public transport more and had holidays abroad we'd have probs invested in a stroller this time round.

Ohb0llocks · 13/09/2017 10:29

I've just coped by trying to ignore it and carrying on with DS (3) as normal! Although a lot more soft play and swimming.

Anyone started packing a bag yet?

BellaMoon · 13/09/2017 10:41

morning all

@AmandaP86x i actually regret not getting the Stokke. i loved the height and dimensions of it but i felt it was a bit "plasticky" compared to the Silver Cross Pioneer that we went for instead. i regret it cos the height of the pram (which i know the baby won't be in for very long) means a complete bend down for both me and DH. doesn't sound much but if you're doing it countless times i'm sure it'll get on my
nerves! have you been to Jan Stewart in East Kilbride? would recommend going there are they stock them all and do excellent deals, i got 11 items for £1k!

thanks for the heads up on the health visitor front @bakingmad83 my friends kid had a 30 month assessment the other day, i was shocked at this but pleased that services do stay involved.

i'm finally walking "almost" normally after my splits incident. have physio next week so hopefully i'll avoid crutches and the brace every one keeps telling me about 🙈

DH felt baby move 2 nights ago. makes every little ache and pain so so worth it! to see a big bloke so emotional struck me that i'm so lucky to feel this baby grow inside me as he doesn't get any of that. he was amazed at how strong the movements were, bless him.

26 weeks today, third trimester approaching and only 11 weeks to go before finishing up work (i do have time off booked between then and now). time is flying by!
hope you're all well xxxx

Dollydaydream2829 · 13/09/2017 11:15

Hi ladies, sorry I've been a bit scarce with my input into the group recently! Feel like all my spare time at the minute is being taken up with house renovation and baby stuff! And as soon as I get sitting/lying down, I'm nodding off. The joys of the third trimester haha!

Coming up to 32 weeks at the end of the week and feel like everything is going a bit pete tong after having a brilliant second trimester! No more bleeding thankfully though so thats the main thing, and baby still wriggling about in there quite content.
Been on iron tablets for a good three and a bit weeks now - not feeling remarkably better but have my 32 week midwife appt tomorrow so will see what she says.

As for the ladies who are struggling with pain, I'm with you there. I've just been to my physio appt this morning - turns out I do have SPD caused most likely because I'm normally so petite, my body has been struggling to cope with the extra almost 2st (Yes, ladies 2STONE weight gain) so my poor hip is bearing the brunt. I now have exercises and a beautiful brace to wear when standing/walking.
Incidentally, while she was assessing me, she noticed my belly came to a point and asked if I knew I had diastasis recti. Which I did not..... basically my tummy muscles are splitting which has been causing my back pain. I now have to wear a large tubi grip at all times from my boobs to my bum and have exercises for that too. It does lead to a weakened pelvic floor so have to be super vigilant with my exercises.
So ladies, get yourself looked at for the problems rose and ohb

ohb I've not started packing yet but I've ordered a changing bag so will start when it comes! Just incase....

bella - glad your injury is resolving! Love that your DH has managed to feel the baby. My DH was in awe when he first felt it. Now that baby is getting even more stronger, he's not enjoying the constant kicks to the face he gets whenever he speaks to him/her.

baking - thanks for the heads up 're the health visitor. I'm getting a visit at 34 weeks and wondered what it would involve. I've been getting stressed cos the house is such a tip with the building work and nursery decor and wondered if she would be looking at things like that?! Hope the house stuff isn't stressing you out too much.

amanda - I've heard good reviews about stokke prams. We went for silvercross wayfayrer. I had my heart set on it so didn't really look too much into other prams so I'm a bit useless!

AmandaP86x · 13/09/2017 12:23

Hi girls

@BellaMoon I know I really like the height of it. My DP liked the bugaboo but I felt that was really low. I think I'll go for the stokke it's the one I liked he most. Although the carry cost seems quite big! Anyway I'll mull it over! & yes I'll go to Jan Stewart someone else mentioned that to me too. Glad ur feeling a bit better after ur wee injury u poor soul.

I am desperate for DP to feel baby kick!!!! I am always like ok now - and it stops 😂 I think he thinks I'm at the wind up! Lol

@Dollydaydream2829 aw dolly can't believe your 32 weeks!!!!! I am very envious hahaha!!!!

I have a really sore left leg - like it's not muscular it feels more like a nerve pain I wonder if baby is maybe lying on a wee nerve or something! I'll ask my midwife next week!!!!

I am not organised really at all. I keep thinking aw I'm only 21 weeks plenty time lol. Before I know it I'll be 32 and freaking.

Re weight etc - Iv been told on the same day I am big, I'm neat, I'm glowing and I look shattered. LIKE LEAVE ME ALONE 😟 lol!!!!!

I am struggling with the weight thing - I don't think I'll be wearing jeans again. Just don't feel comfortable at all 🙃 anyway going to go to primark get some plain t shirts and comfy stuff. Time to embrace this without looking like a tramp 😂

Moo31 · 13/09/2017 14:07

@Baking happy anniversary! Great news about the house – fx things keep moving quickly for you on that front. And hope all goes well at your 31 week apt tomorrow 

@Bella –glad your pain is easing and hope you are taking it easy! Lovely for DH getting to feel a kick – they are big softies underneath aren’t they! 

@Rose – hope you are enjoying your holiday and are feeling better? Is the sickness pregnancy related or related to the cold?
@Ohb your update made me laugh but I do hope you get some ease from the pain! Re hospital bag it is on my to-do list and I really must get it done! People telling me they’ve had their babies at 34/35 weeks isn’t making my to-do list get done any quicker but it is freaking me out that I could have a baby in 2-3 weeks time – not prepared at all!

I had my 32 week apt yest (though not 32 weeks until Friday) – can’t believe the end is in sight! Baby still breech so OH has been googling how to get him / her shifted – apparently scrubbing the floors is an old wives tale that “actually works” – of course it does haha! He also pumped the exercise ball up that my cousin lent me and was on it for a while last night. Fingers crossed!

@Amanda kicks and flutters =

AmandaP86x · 13/09/2017 18:23

Well went out today was in shop & the shop assistant asked when I was due so was telling her she said her daughter was due in Jan and turns out we r both due on same day & both boys! However just as the convo was coming to an end she stated - she isn't as big as you though 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 I swear I would have LOVED to have seen my face!

bakingmad83 · 13/09/2017 21:14

Was thinking of packing my hospital bag at 32 weeks ohb or at least getting the remaining bits I need for it.

I guess it varies from area to area Bella, but here you get a review before first birthday and then after their second birthday, plus you can go along to drop in sessions if you want them weighed/have questions/concerns. All the assessments are is to check they're progressing ok and to offer additional support if struggling in any areas :) Glad to hear you're on the mend and lovely that your DH is starting to feel movements too!

Don't worry Dolly, they aren't interested in what your house looks like :) HV actually said a lot of people were initially put off visits, as that's what they thought it was for. Sorry to hear about the SPD. Think I've got that diastasis recti you mention, was like that with DS and again now, but not caused any issues, so will ask mw.

I get sick of all the comments too Amanda. You'd never say to anyone who wasn't pregnant - aren't you fat/skinny etc, so not sure when you have a bump people think they can say all sorts! Think I abandoned jeans after my 20 week scan. I had sciatica early in pregnancy - it ran from my lower back, through my bum, leg to my toes. Nervy pain isn't pleasant. Now have the joys of leg cramps back in the early hours, was same with DS. But as that's my only pregnancy gripe at the mo I can't complain!

Thanks Moo. After playgroup took DS out for a walk in his pram then the 3 of us went for lunch in the village café. There is a website "spinning babies" that I've heard mentioned regularly on here that gives advice to get babies into good position. Might be worth a look :)

Moo31 · 14/09/2017 13:43

@Amanda that is so rude! Bump shaming is so unacceptable! That woman has obviously been pregnant before so should understand that it is not something you say to a pregnant woman!

@Baking - that sounds like a lovely day :)

Ladies we are on 947 posts ... approaching thread 2! If everyone posts their EDD at the end of their next post I will make a list and post that on the new thread so we can all keep track :)

bakingmad83 · 14/09/2017 20:24

My EDD is 16th Nov.

31 weeks today. Had mw appointment today. All ok, though apparently baby is now breech (or "bum in your pelvis" as she confusingly said, though when she said she'll probs be in a different position later that gave me a clue as to what she was on about!) and measuring a couple of weeks behind, but she didn't seem bothered about that. I've now got a different midwife and guess measurements are user dependent to an extent, so can maybe see more accurately at 34 weeks.

I'm going to a breastfeeding workshop on Saturday at the hospital while DH takes DS to a fire station open day :) Feel a bit daft, as fed DS till 2.5, but want to try to prevent a rubbish latch this time round, so want to get it right from the start.

Moo31 · 14/09/2017 23:29

Please share any tips from your bf class @baking! We had our 2nd antenatal class tonight and there was a bit about bf - the theory of it is all good and although she did a practical demo it's just so hard to know what it will be like actually trying to do it! She also did a baby bathing demo which was good as I wouldn't have had a clue!

I looked up the spinning babies website also and it's really good - lots of different exercises to do so I'm going to print them off and get started to get this baby shifted! Hopefully dd shifts for you :)

BellaMoon · 15/09/2017 07:56

EDD for my "kick mummy at 4am" loving boy is 20/12

i'm sorry to hear of your SPD @Ohb0llocks and @Dollydaydream2829 my friend had it in last 4-5 weeks of pregnancy and had the brace and crutches. she's been the 1 warning me about this pubic ligament damage and how i should have initially rested it more so it doesn't end up as SPD. physio next thursday so ill hopefully know more then!

@Moo31 love love LOVE dulux goose down! we teamed that with fondant in our dining room. the grey obsession continues into baby clothes for me too. are you the same? hope baby Moo turns for you without the need for scrubbing floors!

i'd also like tips on breast feeding please @bakingmad83 i have always dismissed it due to having 1 flat nipple (i thought it was inverted until recently when i did some research and discovered it's actually flat instead). i now know it won't matter for breast feeding so i'm keen to see if i can give it a go.

@AmandaP86x i would pay that old woman any attention! what did she hope to achieve with that size-ist comment? i struggled with "you don't even look pregnant" comments until i popped recently. i felt like a fraud and worse still, it emphasised to me that i was so podgy before as how could i be 5 months pregnant and no1 can see it. so from my point of view, stick that baby bump in her face if you ever see her again, tell her you're fit and healthy and won't be bump shamed by any1!!!

i got an email from ovia or emma's diary about packing my hospital bag at 24 weeks! it freaked me out, well not enough to actually do it but obviously that's a baby life viability point so it hit me like a train, we are having a living breathing human soon! i think ill probably organise this when i'm on holiday from work in a fortnight. i feel a shopping spree coming on 😊

i'm soooo jealous of all the 30 weeks + ladies these days... keep finding myself wishing away the next month or two as i feel like i'm at a bit of a no mans land as nothing is needing doing and i'm getting more uncomfortable so desperately want to fast forward. i have zero patience!

any weekend plans? xx
