Laaaaadies,
Has anyone had a bleed after sex during their pregnancy?? I know it's quite common in the early stages but at 30weeks, can it be normal?
Like you bella - sex has been a pretty rare occurrence in this household recently but now this has happened, it's prob gonna be enough to put me off for the rest of my pregnancy lol!
I just wasn't sure if it was normal or if I should ring triage??

bakingmad83 · 03/09/2017 12:51

Sorry to hear you've had this Dolly. I had some light spotting before 12 weeks after sex once, but I'd probs ring triage to be on the safe side. Sure it's nothing, but will put your mind at ease x

BellaMoon · 03/09/2017 14:21

i'd give triage a ring @Dollydaydream2829, let us know how you get on.

i suffered with that issue throughout my 20s ending up with the conclusion that i had a thin surface of cervix to which they literally ironed with heat to create thicker scarred surface. it worked! but now i'm waiting to hear from consultant on whether i should be allowed to go into labour given the dilation of the cervix could affect this thickened/scarred tissue. anyway, i automatically thought of this issue so i'm wondering if your cervix has maybe thinned? hoping it's just lack of use and you're 100% fine Dolly.

funnily enough DH tried a new (actually old but we'd gotten out of the habit) tactic with me in the bedroom department. he actually turned up the romance (rather than clicking his fingers) and iv been far more up for it. haha. so easily we forget the initial romance of a relationship that had us all over each other!

hope you've all had a lovely weekend ladies.

i slipped in the shower yesterday, ending with me doing the splits in the bath. not normally something that would cause such pain however i think i pulled about 4000 muscles trying to stop myself face planting so i'm all sore. groin in major pain and abdo tightness too. there's always something to bloody worry about isn't there?

any scans/appointments this week ladies? x

Moo31 · 03/09/2017 14:52

@dolly yes please ring triage. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about as the others said but it will put your mind at ease.

@bella ouch!! 🙈 Take it easy!

@baking thanks I have saved to favourites!

A pair of maternity shorts I wore in malaga this time last week no longer fit me 😔 how have i expanded a whole size in a week!? I thought maternity wear was supposed to last the whole time and you weren't supposed to grow out of It! Gave everyone a laugh anyway me trying to squeeze myself into them insisting they would fit! 😂

I also booked my 6 week daisy birthing course this morning. It starts next Sunday and i can't wait!

Dollydaydream2829 · 03/09/2017 17:01

Thanks for the advice ladies, I gave them a ring and the advised that it can be completely normal to bleed like that during sex because everything is so vascular down there just now. Said that I should monitor it overnight and if i keep spotting then to give them a phone in the morning.
Right now, it's just on wiping so will wait and see!

Oh that sounds like a fall and a half bella - you didn't land on/hurt your stomach at all did you?? I did that about 23 weeks and got into trouble from a doctor for not phoning to get checked. It's like a minefield!

Thanks for the link baking - now I'm a little less flustered, I'll have a read over.

Moo - I'm with you on that one - can't believe how much I seem to be growing just now! It feels like I balloon every single morning!!

OP posts:
bakingmad83 · 03/09/2017 17:44

Glad they were able to reassure you Dolly, hopefully you'll not have any more probs overnight

Hope you're OK Bella, sounds like an impressive fall

I'm hoping my maternity tops and leggings/yoga pants will keep expanding with me, as don't want to buy any extra mat clothes for just a few weeks - with not going out to work, maybe I can get away wearing DH's t-shirts :)

Hope you enjoy your Daisy class Moo!

We're probably mad with 10 or so weeks to go, but went to view a house this afternoon. Our current house isn't ideal - no drive/parking/double yellows right outside so often have to park a way away that isn't ideal with shopping and kids, front door straight on to road, big drop from garden into our yard, not possible to extend. Liked it and seriously thinking of putting in an offer. Going to start decluttering again if we're likely getting the estate agents out and getting viewers. Eek!

Dollydaydream2829 · 03/09/2017 18:00

Ooft! That will defo be a challenge baking - certainly a lot of stress and upheaval but I have actually thought to myself you sound like a very organised person, based on some of your past comments so I'm sure you'd more than manage and like you say, if your current house can cause a bit more work in the long run, then you may as well do it now! I can imagine moving with two children, one a newborn, would be even less fun!!

OP posts:
BellaMoon · 03/09/2017 20:32

glad everything sounds normal @Dollydaydream2829 and glad you phoned too.

well if truth be told i was having a bit of a "trim" in the shower so legs slightly apart but then lost grip and ended up in the quarter to 3 position! i didn't bump or land on my stomach, thank goodness. as soon as i started to slip i must have braced everything so every movement is bloody sore! especially public area. DH has reassured me NOT as i asked if muscle strains should only last a day or two but his rugby experience says otherwise with groin strains lasting weeks! that's the jiggy jiggy back off the table then 😂

oh good luck @bakingmad83 with the house situation! like Dolly said, you seem like a woman who gets things done so i'm sure if it's to be, you'll approach with gusto and hopefully be in and settled before DD arrives! and thanks for the NCT link earlier. iv added to favourites but not managed to read fully yet.

lol'd at your shorts dilemma @Moo31. shame however it is now autumn and not going to be shorts weather for much longer so just pack them away until next time 😜

i made my first proper maternity clothes purchase last week as a friend told me that she'd report me for child abuse if i kept wearing my work trousers that were getting really tight (unbuttoned by lunch time each day)! plenty stretch in my new stuff so they'll do til due and probably after for a few weeks too.

we've not that long to go now til our 2nd thread ladies. looking forward to seeing our stats with EDDs approaching. soooo frigging exciting!

every time i type EDD i laugh a little as i sometimes work with offenders and they all have an EDL (expected date of liberation)! suppose it's the same thing really isn't it lol. less handcuffs involved in my case tho hahaha x

BellaMoon · 03/09/2017 20:33

pubic not public 😂 suppose it'll be a public area during delivery hahaahaaa

bakingmad83 · 03/09/2017 21:23

Thanks Dolly and Bella! Not sure whether we'd be moved before DD arrived though. I have a feeling some of what we dislike about our house may put other families off too - though when we bought it 5 years ago, we pipped too other couples to it, so maybe I'm overthinking things and tbh they weren't really an issue till we had our DS. I am a bit worried that DS has a lot going on at the mo/shortly without adding a move into the mix - not long weaned and moved into a new room, really hoping to potty train him in the next few weeks, DD arriving in Nov, starting preschool in Jan - but I suppose there is never going to be an ideal time. Though probs couldn't have picked a worse time. Tbh they may not accept our offer or what we're prepared to go up to, which isn't the asking price. On a plus, there is no forward chain, as the lady can move in with her daughter, so that may speed things up a bit and its been up for sale about a year, so may be more willing to accept a lower offer. Will keep you posted :)

Know I'm definitely bigger this time round Bella, as even at due date with DS I never had probs shaving and it's becoming rather difficult already!

Just 90 messages to go till thread#2 - be there within a fortnight I imagine with our stats up :)

Moo31 · 04/09/2017 00:23

@dolly hopefully that has put your mind at ease and it has stopped / stops overnight You don't need anymore scares this week!

@Bella mental image 🙈 haha!! And how have you lasted this long without buying maternity clothes?! Ive bought very little (2 pairs of new look jeans, shorts and vest tops for hols and black straight let trousers for work) but I couldn't have got this far without them! I also bought Primark leggings 2 sizes bigger than my normal size and they are my best friend!

@baking there's no time like the present is there! My cousin moved house in May with a 2 year old and an almost 3 month old. They had their offer accepted before Christmas but there were delays on sellers side but the move was fairly smooth so it can be done! I also had a friend move a day before due date - cutting it fine but they must have had a word as baby came a week late anyway lol
Re clothing - yoga pants and oh t-shirts sound like heaven!!

bakingmad83 · 04/09/2017 06:31

Thanks for the positive moving stories Moo :) Think there's nothing like comfort when you're pregnant clothing wise, but not so easy I imagine if you deal with the public/attend meetings and have to dress smartly or wear a uniform.

BellaMoon · 04/09/2017 07:01

my bump only properly appeared about 2-3 weeks ago @Moo31 so all my clothes were fine til then. even now, iv bought leggings, floaty/stretchy trousers and 3 loose tops but my dresses all still fit. i think losing weight in the first trimester clearly helped as i'm only just graining weight now at almost 25 weeks!

iv been a big girl my whole life, 5'8" by age 10-11 with the boobs and bum to go with it (not to mention the hormones and attitude) so i was well overdue a break from mother nature hahaha!

well hi ho, hi ho off to work for another week! i finish for a weeks leave 2 weeks on friday and it isn't coming quick enough. yipeeeee

xx

AmandaP86x · 04/09/2017 23:05

Hello ladies

Just catching up!!!@Dollydaydream2829 glad u r ok!!! Tha would be worrying but seems like it's pretty normal so carry on with the jiggy!!

I have defo outgrown allll my clothes. I actually put a sports bra on yesterday and actually had to stop my car & take it off I literally couldn't breathe!!!!!! 😂

I ordered some new look jeggings size up! I also ordered some dresses for weekend - I actually got dolled up & felt great for once attach pic 😂☺️ I had a defo bump but it seems to be all bump!!!! I am now 20 weeks woohooo made it halfway.

Also had my scan and everything with baby seems perfect. So excited honestly. Starting to feel defo movements can't wait until DP can feel them

xxxx

AmandaP86x · 04/09/2017 23:32

Oh forgot to attach pic of my Baby BOY 😊💙💙💙

PMA Grads Thread :-)
bakingmad83 · 05/09/2017 06:27

Lovely bump and scan pics Amanda! Glad everything is fine and congrats on your DS! If you're feeling definite movements probs won't be long till your DP feels them :) I've been all bump both pregnancies too :)

AmandaP86x · 05/09/2017 06:44

Thanks @bakingmad83 although Iv not felt anything since last night really and I get a bit freaked out 😭 in like pls move!! But I'm only 20 weeks so I don't think I can feel every movement yet it's randomly wee movements I think !

Is anyone else like tha xx

BellaMoon · 05/09/2017 06:50

aw fab news @AmandaP86x congrats on your baby boy! love the scan pics. yay woo hoo!

every time i grab DHs hand to feel our boy move, baby immediately stops. DH is super frustrated. he tends to sit by me now and just have his hand on my tummy but still nothing for him yet.

i was walking around at the weekend in the supermarket and DH put his hand on my tummy and i was mortified. he got "the look" and quickly removed his hand lol

i can't tell from that pic which lady is 20 weeks pregnant at all! x

BellaMoon · 05/09/2017 17:08

@Dollydaydream2829 how are you? hoping you're ok xx

Anna2006 · 05/09/2017 17:28

Hope you're okay @dollydaydream2829 and that the bleeding has disappeared! All these things to worry about hey!

Oh wow!! @AmandaP86x a baby boy! How lovely and exciting for you. 💙💙💙💙 Forgot to ask you if you were finding out. Lush scan pic aswell. So clear! You're looking fab in your pics and clearly pregnancy suits you very much ☺️ I am feeling quite few movements now but not all the time so must just be how it is until they get more into a pattern maybe?! So try not to worry as still quite early I guess. They move eractically until a lot later I think.

I also purchased my first maternity stuff yesterday. Some H & M maternity leggings which are soooo comfy & have plenty of room for bump to grow and a maternity t shirt from there. I am getting really limited with my stuff. More due to my style of clothing which is all very fitted an not ideal to do much stretching apart from a few sensible pieces that I have! The H & M stuff is reasonable priced and comfy so recommend it. I can't get on with new looks jeans. I've got very long legs an H&M are ideal for me in terms of length. Not so good if you're short tho!

@Bellamoon fingers crossed DH gets to feel soon. There little monkeys for knowing when someone is waiting. I'm so surprised that mine can be felt on the outside already. I think it's due to little one probabaly being literally right there under my skin with not much water or anything. The cat was purring on me yesterday on two separate occasions an it sent the baby nuts wiggling all over the place 😂 making friends I hope but it made me chuckle 👶🏻😽

BellaMoon · 05/09/2017 20:05

hey ladies

i'm not long back from maternity triage due to that bloody slip in the shower on saturday. looks like iv torn/over stretched the ligament in the pubic area. the pressure and restricted moment not to mention pain forced me to call them today. have come away with better painkillers and physio is calling me tomorrow to advise if iv to put my feet up or exercise.

just hoping and praying it repairs otherwise i'll be waddling for the next 3.5 months! i'm only separating my legs from the knee down! oh i'm a pretty sight that's for sure.

moral of this story is, get grippers/non slip stickers for your baths and showers ladies x

@Anna2006 aww how cute your cat is cuddling! animals definitely sense the babies don't they? my wee bella better make friends with baby, she's been very affectionate lately so hopefully that continues xx

bakingmad83 · 05/09/2017 21:25

Amanda, don't worry re the movements at this stage, I remember one day when I was 22 weeks not feeling anything for nearly 24hrs - prior to that I'd had lots more movements and when I did feel something it was in a different position, so guess at that time she'd just moved position. It's not really till 28 weeks that you expect to see a regular pattern.

Glad you've been checked out Bella, hopefully your ligament tear will heal quickly.

Went back to view the house this morning and had one lot of estate agents out to value ours. About what we expected, but got another coming out on Thursday to compare. After that we'll put in an offer - not rushing, as it's been up for so long.

Moo31 · 06/09/2017 13:50

Just a quick check in to say ahhhh @Amanda what a beautiful scan pic and congrats on your baby boy!!!!! Grin

I will catch up properly later! Hope everyone is well!

Ps @Bella - take it easy!!

AmandaP86x · 06/09/2017 21:48
