Be honest - what do you think of the name...

Huey?? I've always had a huge crush on the lead singer of The Fun Lovin Crimials HUey Morgan so probably a huge influence but my MIL & SIL pulled a funny face!!

I want something uncommon as my DD's name is fast heading towards the top ten girls names and it annoys me to hear her name everwhere i go and want to avoid a similar situation without being ridiculous and yes i am aware Donald Duck has a son/nephew (can't remember) of the same name but what do you reckon??

listen, if you love it, it will grow on everyoine else.
if it was music to everyones ears on first hearing, it would by its nature then become (or already be) one of those ten-a-penny names you dont want!
so go for it. choose it if you like it.

btw - makes me think of helicopters. since we're sharing. but i quite like it.

I wanted to call ds Bailey.

Or how about Sherlock? That's a lovely name!

don't really like it, I'm afraid. Sorry

is there another name you're considering?

Yep, I'd have pulled a funny face too. It reminds me of "Ducktales" (remember that cartoon anyone?) with Huey, Duey and Louey, as you said, Donald Duck's nephews. It would have made me laugh to have a classmate with that name. Wow, that poor child will soo get rippd on in school! I agree with the other ladies who suggested Hugh as a compromise, much more "normal" yet still not too common.

Liked Beau as i said in an earlier post but maybe as a middle name as doesn't really go as a first name with my surname - DH liked rafferty but i am liking it but not loving it. he likes Huey Harrison or Huey Beau but i need other options!!!

Did like Hugo but getting very popular round here - liked Rufus but DH didn't and so it goes on....!!

Huey Beau just has too many vowels in for my eye

Dalziel?

I find Huey Beau doesn't flow right

Rufus and Rafferty I don't really go for either. What's the first initial of your surname?

Report
SSShakeTheChi · 16/03/2007 12:03
