Which pram are use going with, already have? Any recommendations?

I really liked icandy peach but saw the silvercross wave today and bit on the fence now Grin

Went to see the Uppababy Vista 2017 today and absolutely loved it. Wonder if they've updated the issue with leaves and wheels yet...

BrucesTooth · 23/05/2017 19:41

Like another poster, also had a maclaren (techno xt). It was from a friend so already did 2 kids and both of mine too. Lies flat, good sun shade, easy to put on rain cover, light, easy to collapse and steer. Most people I know who bought a bigger pram/travel system ended up with a stroller anyway (even as a 2nd option) so saves the hassle.

Bugaboo Bee. Obviously overpriced for what it is but compact, very light and easily manoeuvrable. We live in Central London, small flat with almost zero storage space, no car, no country walks etc., so this was ideal for us. We bought it using some money my parents gave us as a gift for our wedding but at the end of day I'm happy I opted for a cheap wedding dress and a decent buggy as I use the latter much more! Smile

Bugaboo Cameleon 3! In Navy (with white lining) so excited to take delivery this Friday!!! I know expensive travel systems are a waste of money (did the same with my first DD) but couldn't help myself! Good luck choosing! We went to a baby show at NEC last weekend and although we didn't get ours there, there was loads of pushchairs on display - perhaps a good opportunities to try all before you buy! Xx

Baby Jogger City Mini here. Easy fold, appropriately narrow for London public transport, comfortable for my 6ft+ husband to push without being too high for 5'5 me, plenty of headroom for a tall child (DS is tracking the 98th percentile for height).

MyBreadIsEggy · 24/05/2017 08:01

When DD was born 2 years ago, I got a Silver Cross Pioneer and it was amazing Smile Sturdy, but folded nicely, comfortable and spacious for DD, an enormous shopping basket, and it was beautiful to look at.
Then I fell pregnant with DS when DD was 8 months old and automatically assumed I would need a double pram....so sold my beloved silver cross and bought an iCandy Peach double. I used it as a single for DD while I was pregnant. It a nice pram....but had I know how DS would react to the pram - i.e. Scream his head off from the second his bottom touches the seat Hmm - I never would have invested in a double Sad I would have kept the Silver Cross for DD and carried DS in a sling which I do majority of the time anyway!!

Thanks Eleanor that's great, it's been a bit of a minefield but that is the one we have settled on so fingers crossed it fits in my ickle Peugeot boot

deb1407 · 24/05/2017 11:55

We got the Egg - in Limited Edition, Jurassic Black! Can't wait to pick it up on Friday Grin

lydiangel83 · 25/05/2017 06:38

Just marking my place so I can read this later! So many things to think about!

I know nothing about Prams so what are main gestures / options to consider?

Sparklyuggs · 25/05/2017 09:41

lydia price-fixing although if you like an expensive pram you can get them secondhand. Icandy peach in John Lewis is £850ish but regularly sell secondhand for £250 near me.
Lifestyle- I don't go on country walks and I'm not contending with public transport often, I'm in a town so need something easy to push but I don't need to fold/unfold and carry up flights of stairs.
Single/double- some say to get one which can convert if you plan a small gap.
Height- if you and your partner are different heights you might want an adjustable handlebar.
Those are all I can think of for now. I've got the icandy orange but if I were still in London I would have got the babyzen yo-yo or bugaboo bee.

Got the Silver Cross Pioneer for DS 3 years ago and will be using it for #2 too. Did get a new set of wheels, but free of charge as was within 2 year warranty and in fairness did put some serious miles in during the first 18 months. Great sized basket beneath, but it is bulky, esp with carrycot part, so not a good option if you have a small boot.

Laurenannxo · 26/05/2017 07:39

Joolz Geo in elephant grey! I looooove it

tabletopsbs6 · 26/05/2017 09:57

Joolz Day 2 - Elephant Grey :D

Sarahrose21 · 26/05/2017 22:32

We're getting an emmaljunga
I prefer the bigger shopping basket underneath and we're regularly out and about on beaches and walks and it has a good sturdy frame with chunky tyres

Kintan · 26/05/2017 22:54

We have the mountain buggy urban jungle. It's great for around town, but also for country walks.

minipie · 26/05/2017 23:02

I got a Bee. Fab and unique in many ways and we are still using it 4.5 yrs on but... if I was choosing again I might get an out and about nipper. I have the double version and it is SO easy to push, I don't know how they do it.

kel1493 · 29/05/2017 08:19

I knew I wanted a silver cross. We didn't know the sex, and I wanted a neutral pram anyway. We went for the pioneer as we preferred the big wheels (the wayfarer wheels look cheap to us), and the bigger basket. Didn't like the surf as the basket is tiny and as we don't drive at all a big basket was essential.
I love all the matching accessories (seat liner, bag, parasol).
I'm not sure the wave would be necessary for just one baby.

user1479669774 · 29/05/2017 11:32

We've just bought the wave, this is our first but thought we would invest in one that could be made two as we are planning all being well to have another one. Haven't used it yet but seems easy to manuevour, basket is big and feels really sturdy.

tiba · 29/05/2017 11:40

We went for the Cybex Priam.

Loved how well built and easy to use one handed it was.

Plus it has a wheelbarrow function that keeps baby level whilst pulling up stairs.

Its also totally lie flat so no need for carrycot.

Orangebird69 · 29/05/2017 11:44

I have a Mamas and Papas Urbo2 for street stuff and a Baby Jogger CMGT for walks, parks etc. I use the CMGT more because it's more practical but I adore the Urbo2. Parent and world facing, light, folds small and so so beautiful.

GinIsIn · 29/05/2017 11:55

We have the Cosatto Giggle 2 here as well, and it's GREAT! At the moment we are still using it with the bassinet and the one thing I've noticed is that it's nice and high so really easy to pop a sleeping baby into without waking them. Also, it's suitable for occasional overnight sleeping so you can use it as a travel crib, and we used ours instead of a Moses basket for daytime naps. The wheels can be popped off to put in the dishwasher and the handle fold means it's easy to reduce the space you take up.

Cons: the basket is a bit small

MaryShelley1818 · 29/05/2017 12:26

Just pregnant with my first but really like the look of the Oyster...anyone got one?

BentleyBelly · 29/05/2017 13:56

Out n About Nipper that we have had 4 years now and good as new. Brilliant pushchair. We have the carrycot and car seat adapters. Not the most attractive pram out there but so easy to push, fold and goes anywhere. We live out in the forest and need something for all terrains but just as good around town.

Sakura03 · 29/05/2017 14:36

Mary I like the look of the Oyster too, looks very sturdy.

PTphonehome · 29/05/2017 15:26

I have just decided on the bugaboo buffalo. My last baby was 9.5 years ago so we needed something new.
