Hey,

Just wondering if anyone thinks the old wives tale of no nausea or sickness in pregnancy is a sign your carrying a boy?

I have had nothing but tiredness on my first trimester. So many people have said d'oh your having a boy' does anyone think this has some truth to it? Has anyone had no sickness and had a girl?

I had no sickness and a girl :)
I think it's nonsense.

HG until 25 weeks with DD.

Not HG but terrible everyday sickness until the day he was born with DS.

So no, no truth in the old wives tale!

ThatsNotMyMummy · 10/04/2017 14:08

Awful sickness and a boy
Awful sickness and a girl

FATEdestiny · 10/04/2017 14:10

Tired and Tearful = Girl
Tired and Nauseous = Boy

I have two of each and the above has been true of all pregnancies.

I was really sick and had a girl. I don't believe in the wives tales. Before we found out the gender everyone kept telling me I was having a boy because I was so sick and they were wrong lol

Breezy1985 · 10/04/2017 14:11

HG with DD for the whole 42 weeks with DD with lots of hospital admissions.

Wasn't sick once or even nauseous with DS.

ThoraGruntwhistle · 10/04/2017 14:13

I felt a bit queasy in both pregnancies at various times but was never actually sick. One boy, one girl.

AliciaMayEmory · 10/04/2017 14:13

Awful morning sickness with both DD and DS, but slightly worse and went on for longer with DS.
Friend had two DDs and had no sickness. Another friend had HG with her DD. Cousin was on anti-sickness tablets the whole way through both her pregnancies and both were DSs.

There is no rhyme or reason and it's just luck of the draw.

Lunalovepud · 10/04/2017 14:16

I was constantly nauseous from 6 - 16 weeks with DS. It's nonsense. Wink

1nsanityscatching · 10/04/2017 14:16

I had horrendous sickness with my three boys, HG with the last one. Then I had a pregnancy with not one minutes nausea who turned out to be a girl. So when I started with sickness on the day my period was due I was convinced it would be another boy only it wasn't it was a girl. I don't think you can assume anything tbh.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 10/04/2017 14:17

No nausea or sickness with either DS.

Daily vomiting and permanent nausea with DD. The sickness started before I even knew I was pregnant, and continued until the day DD was born.

I have heard people say in the past that sickness is more likely to mean a girl - but then I have also met people who have had HG and boys.

GotToGetMyFingerOut · 10/04/2017 14:27

Yeah it's nonsense I had severe sickness all nine months with both genders.

MargotLovedTom1 · 10/04/2017 14:30

You'd have to do a properly controlled study really. It's not quite the same for individual posters to declare "I had terrible sickness and I had a boy, so it's rubbish." Wink

WellErrr · 10/04/2017 14:40

DS - no sickness or nausea at all
2 DDs - TERRIBLE nausea that needed medicating.

2017Babyontheway · 10/04/2017 14:56

Sorry to sound stupid but what is DD and DS?!

Thank you all who have posted!! We are not finding out the sex but I'm desperately trying to guess!!

DD = daughter
DS = son

Seeline · 10/04/2017 16:03

I had it equally bad both times - 1DS and 1DD

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2017 16:04

My sickness & nausea got worse with each pregnancy, and each time I was having a boy.

HollyJollyDillydolly · 10/04/2017 17:38

I have 4dc. The middle 2 were boys and I was horrendously sick with them both up until about 24 weeks. I wasn't sick once with either of the girls.

MirandaWest · 10/04/2017 17:40

Horrible sickness and tiredness with DS

Horrible sickness and tiredness with DD

I think I am sick and tired when pregnant Grin

pinkieandperkie · 10/04/2017 17:49

Boys no sickness

Girl no sickness

I was unbelievably lucky.

EsmesRedPetticoat · 10/04/2017 17:56

I had no sickness either time and have 2 girls.

AmysTiara · 10/04/2017 18:10

Terrible sickness with DS2 but none with DS1

BelafonteRavenclaw · 10/04/2017 18:20

I was sick with both DSs. I had raging heartburn with DS2 and very little with DS1. Everyone told me to expect a girl the second time. That was until DS2 arrived.

insancerre · 10/04/2017 19:22

I had a boy and then a girl
I had terrible a time with sickness both times
