Can no sickness or nausea determine the sex?

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone thinks the old wives tale of no nausea or sickness in pregnancy is a sign your carrying a boy?

I have had nothing but tiredness on my first trimester. So many people have said d'oh your having a boy' does anyone think this has some truth to it? Has anyone had no sickness and had a girl?

No sickness, barely any symptoms and I had a girl :)

MissCalamity · 10/04/2017 20:06

I was sick more with DS, than DD not by much though! I was more nauseous with DD. Carried both exactly the same & put on the same amount of weight with both.

BikeRunSki · 10/04/2017 20:09

No. I've had 2 HG pg, and have one boy and one girl.

Cagliostro · 10/04/2017 20:10

I was thoroughly nauseated with both but with DD it was properly feeling sick, with DS it was more like a horrid taste in my mouth

I did think at the time oooh it's different maybe that means it's a boy, but I don't really think that's true as it's 50/50

Third pregnancy now, definitely feels more like it did with DD but it's miles worse and everyone keeps telling me it must be because it's twins 😱😂

Redyellowpinkblue · 10/04/2017 20:13

First DD - No sickness whatsoever
Second DD (currently 32 weeks pg) - sickness constantly, horrendous and relentless!
So no, no truth in it whatsoever.

MangoSplit · 10/04/2017 20:16

Almost no sickness with DS1
Felt sick with DD
And sicker with DS2

So for me it got worse each time!

OnNaturesCourse · 11/04/2017 04:22

I heard it was a girl for no sickness.

I personally think it's your own body's reaction to each sex so unless you've been PG before it's hard to tell.

GreedyDuck · 11/04/2017 07:44

No sickness or nausea whatsoever. I had a girl.

None this time either, no idea what I'm having though.

My mum was most put out as she had terrible morning sickness with all three pregnancies.

siblingrevelryagain · 11/04/2017 07:50

Three identical pregnancies (constant nausea but no sickness for 20 weeks, same spots/bad skin etc); two boys then one girl.

ImLadybird · 11/04/2017 10:40

No nausea or sickness with either DD or DS. Couldn't believe my luck!

Dreardre · 11/04/2017 10:43

If you don't have experience of it yourself surely Kate Middleton's experience proves it's bollocks .

goldenrachita · 11/04/2017 11:33

All the old wife's tales are absolute rubbish. The two women I know who suffered the worst morning sickness had boys. Scientifically it's true that slightly more girls are born to the women who are hospitalised due to severe sickness and diagnosed withHyperemesis Gravidarum. But they haven't established a link where women are just vomiting a lot with bad morning sickness. I really wouldn't read much into it.

I had horrific puking from the offset until about week 14 with my son. A brief break then it started again at about 19 weeks until almost until the end. Was also far far worse at night.
With my daughter I felt permanently nauseous it was utterly debilitating. Not sick as much just felt and looked felt rough from about week four until really the day she was born, bar a brief sojourn to normalcy at circa week 20.

With this one I've feel very different. Nowhere near as nauseous and I've bend sick twice at a,most ten weeks. We're not finding out the gender either.

Basically like most people have said, we're all proof that that theory is total bollocks

OftenFoundWasting · 11/04/2017 13:24

I had no sickness at all and produced twin girls, so the old wives' tale is rubbish as far as I'm concerned.

tootsieglitterballs · 11/04/2017 13:43

I have terrible sickness from about 8 weeks to 21 weeks, we had a boy!

tootsieglitterballs · 11/04/2017 13:43

*had , he's now 2 years old and we are expecting again - 7 weeks in and the sickness started yesterday.

DinosaurFanGirl · 11/04/2017 13:46

I'm 25 wks, still suffering with sickness and having a boy.

ScarlettFreestone · 11/04/2017 13:46

Ignore these kind of superstition in general they will just make you anxious and they are nonsense.

My friend had no sickness with either her son or daughter. I had horrific sickness and I have boy/girl twins.
