Pregnant after 2 consecutive mc

Hi all. Just quietly popping my head in here. I got a BFP this morning after two missed miscarriages in August and January. I feel so sick with nerves already, there is just no excited feelings.
Does anyone have any success stories for 3rd time lucky?
I already have 2 healthy children x

Just wanted to say congrats and fingers crossed for you. I'm ttc after a long and annoying mc earlier this year.

I had a missed miscarriage then two chemical. Then I had my beautiful twins who are 5 months. I was on edge the whole time and still have to pinch myself even now. Good luck

Congratulations! Had had 2 MMC's trying for DC2, but am now 39 weeks pregnant!
It's been a bit of an anxious pregnancy, especially leading up to the 12 week scan, but my local EPAU were great and offered me several reassurance scans.
Good luck, hope everything goes well for you and you get your rainbow baby soon. Xx

My EPU said they will offer me a scan at 7 weeks in the next pregnancy so I'm glad I won't have to wait until 12 weeks, it's going to be a long few weeks though! X

I had a shock DD after a diagnosis of PCOS. I wasn't trying and despite my worries it was a smooth and trouble free pregnancy. Then I had trouble conceiving again for 4 years.
Finally, when DD was 4 I fell pregnant. Unfortunately I went on to have 4 consecutive miscarriages within 18 months. The last 3 were all in the space of 7 months.

But literally the month following the last mc I discovered I was pregnant again and although all tests threw no light on the problems I'd had I started to take a baby aspirin and now I'm 31 weeks pregnant with another DD! Once again, tescbook perfect so far.

It's not been easy though, the first 18 weeks I was terrified. And even now I'm scared it'll all just 'disappear' but I'm closely monitored and I take it ridiculously easy to the point of resembling a sloth.

It helped to tell myself that there is no reason that this one would end up the same way as the others. That odds were with me this time.

Wishing you all the luck in the world Bella. I can't imagine much worse than a missed miscarriage and for it to happen twice must be so so distressing.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm the same as you. Pregnant after 2 mc's last year. 1 missed, 1 natural. Did all tests, no problems shown. But like StrawbRhi, took 75mg aspirin from bfp and having fortnightly scans. Only 9 weeks, but this is the furthest I've ever got to and my little bean was dancing away on my ultrasound yesterday. Just wanted to say, you're not alone and there's a great thread on here, staying positive, pregnancy after miscarriage. Loads of positive stories on there. I wish you all the best. x

Hi; I'm currently 14+3 after 4 early mc last year. Like others, I started taking aspirin as soon as I got my bfp and was prescribed progesterone and have had early scans which all show baby is so far developing well.

Hi - I'm in a very similar position. Got BFP last Friday after 2 MMC in June and October last year (have been TTC #2 for 13 months in total, after a very easy time TTC #1 five years ago!)

I'm also really struggling to feel excited. Just assuming the same thing is going to happen again. And I feel awful too, which is just mean. Going to Docs next week to ask about early scan, although not sure that will actually help with anxiety. Just want time to move faster! Trying not to think about it at all, as don't want to jinx it (silly, I know).

Interesting that so many of you are taking low-dose aspirin - I'm also doing this, after reading up on it and figuring it wouldn't do any harm. How are you feeling TootsyBella? I'm exhausted, nauseous (to the point of not wanting to eat anything today) and weirdly have ear ache!

Perhaps we can keep in touch and offer each other a bit of support? Fingers crossed for a positive outcome this time! (and congrats!)

I'm currently 8 weeks, we've had 5 mc over the last 7 year's. My only child is 9.
I am struggling to relax too, it's so difficult to put faith in your body when it's let you down before.

Thank you ladies and I'm so happy to hear positive stories!
I have seen aspirin mentioned a few times before but it's not something I have read up on properly, is it something that needs approved by mw/gp or have you all decided to just give it a try yourselves?
Congratulations Obsidian. Yes keeping in touch and giving support would be fab! I'm feeling okay for now other than the odd cramps, I normally hit 6 weeks and go downhill so I will be making the most of feeling good for now lol.
I'm in limbo between booking in with the midwife or just not bothering for now until I know everything is okay. It seems a waste of time otherwise!

I had losses at 18 weeks then a neonatal death. I'm 16 weeks today and just had a cervical stitch put in.

I'm not going to relax till this baby is here safe. It's sucks when you can't really enjoy your pregnancy

I have been taking aspirin. My doc hinted at it months ago and I jut decided to try it. Been on it since a good few weeks before my bfp. No idea if it's making a difference or not but too scared to stop taking it now.

It's just the wee 75mg aspirin.

I've just had a mc and I ask the dr who checked me about asprin as we were told to take it after my son had IUGR. I'd not had a clear answer.

Basically it can help widen the tiny blood vessels of the placenta or keep them smooth, must be before 16 weeks. So they usually do it at 12 was scan but she said there was absolutely no harm doing it earlier. I know some mums take it before bpf and some after. She seemed to be indicating after. I naively thought it was something to do with thick blood (which some women might take it for) but it's to do with the blood vessels.

It's hard to know if it's ok without a definite order to do so but she was incredibly relaxed about saying to do so, so I think I will. Only the 75 mg.

I know this is internet advice though; you could ask the gp to double check. I'm going to ask the gp today to agree that I will next time.

I also saw this progesterone trial advertised at the hospital. Obviously it's a trial so you won't know if it's prog or placebo, but nice to know there's research.

I started taking aspirin just before ovulation last month, as I'd read somewhere that it could help with implantation. I decided to carry on with it as my GP doesn't offer any investigations until 3 consecutive MC, and I wanted to feel as though I was doing something to make this one stick. Am going to come clean at GP appointment tomorrow though, and see what advice I get. I'll report back.

Tootsy, I've decided I want to get in the system early, in case of another MC, and also want to discuss my anxiety, and whether that's grounds for an early scan. Did anyone else have an early scan, and did it help??

5 weeks tomorrow - have everything crossed!

Hi Obsidian,

I've had fortnightly scans as they were offered to be by my the consultant in charge on my local EPU after 2 mc's. It has helped to calm anxiety for me especially after a missed mc. It's not for everyone though, but it's been lovely for me to watch little bean grow.
Not out of the woods yet, only 9 weeks, but this is the furthest I've got to. x

I had regular scans. Paid for a lot of them and it really did help me. My first scan at 6 weeks, they told me the sac was collapsing. I went back a week later and there were two. Everyone was shocked given my history. That was at epu. I also had a lot of bleeding. But my boy/girl twins are perfect

I'm 7 weeks pregnant after a mmc (baby died at 9.5 but I didn't find out until 11weeks) in March last year and another one in June at 7. I know how you feel! Hope it turns out ok for both of us x
