Monkey, I had a bad 12 week scan with a 6mm nuchal fold, was booked on for CVS but baby passed away before the test was done. They are going to do tests now and should have results in 6 weeks. I suspect it was patau syndrome with it not making it past 14 weeks.....
Mink, I hope you get better news next time, it's all so stressful!!
Pingus, yes not laughed much myself in the last couple of weeks but I did laugh at the typo!!!! :)

Monkeypuzzle32 · 31/07/2017 22:01

Weasle there are varying options so don't feel pressured just yet, as I say I'm older than you so hope that puts it into perspective somewhat.

Monkeypuzzle32 · 31/07/2017 22:02

Mink that's left you in limbo hasn't it? Keeping fingers crossed it's all ok

PingusMistress · 03/08/2017 20:53

Hope everyone is okay and no more bad news.

I had my first growth scan today, everything is generally okay but he (definitely a he!) is a bit on the small side, between 10th and 20th centiles. So they will keep on scanning every three weeks to check he doesn't drop below the 10th centile. I forgot to ask what happens if he does, does anyone know?

So any tips for food to eat to make baby grow without making me bigger too would be welcome!

They confirmed his left foot talipes but his right foot looks fine so that is some relief.

minkfondant · 08/08/2017 10:28

Glad your scan went really well pingus. It all sounds good, and regular scans will be reassuring. Someone has to be on the 10th or 20th centile or it wouldn't be within the range of averages, that's my reasoning! Try not to worry (easier said than done I know). Great that his right foot is fine too. What do they need to do for his left?

Had second scan today. Baffled and amazed to see viable 6 week pregnancy with heartbeat. Thing is, dates make it 7 wks, and I can't understand how it could be running a week behind when there was only really one possible upduffing date that month. Still feel a little pessimistic and disbelieving, but can't get over seeing the little flashing thing on the screen. Shock

Monkeypuzzle32 · 08/08/2017 13:15

I couldn't find this thread earlier!

Good news both!

I had my 20 week scan on Friday and all was well-I cant believe it after all these years, oh and its a little girl! I'm trying to get my head around a girl as I'd always imagined myself with a boy!

Im feeling more relaxed now.

twinkle1972 · 08/08/2017 14:16

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and it's a boy! All looking good. I'm 45 so there is hope for a few years post 40!

Monkeypuzzle32 · 08/08/2017 14:26

indeed there isTwinkle

SleepFreeZone · 08/08/2017 14:36

Congratulations twinkle. Boys are wicked, but I would say that having two myself!

I have my dating scan this Thursday. Should be around 12.5 weeks but really just keeping everything crossed it's alive at the moment. I think I can feel movements ( I did this early with DS2) but of course I think it's my mind playing tricks on me.

SleepFreeZone · 08/08/2017 14:37

Congratulations Monkey fabulous news xxx

minkfondant · 08/08/2017 14:46

minkfondant · 08/08/2017 21:52

Thanks weasle - hope you and dp are doing ok Flowers

weasledee · 08/08/2017 22:13

I'm doing good Mink thanks, off on holiday soon, return to work after that and then hoping around then we might be in the position to start trying again..... (just have the meeting with the genetics team to get the results of the baby which will be difficult...)

rider1975 · 08/08/2017 23:34

Hello ladies - may I join - I'm on another couple of threads and am really interested to hear the experience of those closer to my age. I'm 42, 10+1, suffered 2 MMCs and have no children. I'd given up and stopped tracking ovulation. Fell pregnant just before being on antibiotics for a kidney infection. Had decided a life of travel and cats was the one for me and was considering counselling to try to put the past in the past.
So this is WOW! but trying not to fall too hard.

Monkeypuzzle32 · 09/08/2017 13:39

thanks all-finally starting to feel like I can look forward now, Weasledeeglad you've got a holiday to look forward to before seeing the genetics team.
congratulations rider1975 I know exactly what you mean, I started planning how we'd live if a baby wasn't going to happen-start taking folic acid if youre not already and have you booked in with a midwife yet?

rider1975 · 09/08/2017 19:33

Hi Monkey Smile yes started on folic acid and baby aspirin at 5 weeks when I found out I was expecting. Midwife contacted me so appointment and 12 week scan booked. All on course - just hope baby stays on board

Monkeypuzzle32 · 09/08/2017 19:45

well, you're doing the right things-I heard pineapple is good for the embryo sticking but not sure if that's prior to conception or not! No hot baths either.

rider1975 · 09/08/2017 23:25

Thanks Monkey - all tips welcome

minkfondant · 10/08/2017 06:42

Welcome rider and congratulations! Great news. Smile

NanooCov · 10/08/2017 08:13

Hello. New joiner here!

I'm 40 and 26 weeks with DS #2 (DS #1 is 2.5 yrs).
Had a small bleed at 9 weeks - internal ultrasound and all good.
At 20 week scan borderline enlarged ventricles in the brain were noted so currently waiting for a further scan at 28 weeks to see if it has resolved or possibly schedule an MRI. Also had blood screening to look for infection and paid privately for Harmony to rule out Downs (all clear).

Much more knackered with this pregnancy than first. Also had a tummy bug this week which hasn't helped.

Fed up of consultants banging on about induction already (DS#1 came spontaneously at 40+5 and was a quick delivery in less than 8 hours from first contraction).

Also had the glorious news last week from obstetrician that I'll have to have clexane injections post delivery as I have 2 risk factors (old and a bit fat).

NanooCov · 10/08/2017 08:17

weasledee - just wanted to say sorry for your loss. Also a friend miscarried at age 40 and has just had her (massive and healthy) DD at age 42 so don't feel your options are limited Flowers

weasledee · 10/08/2017 10:07

Thanks Nan x

hungryhass · 10/08/2017 17:36

Good idea?

I've booked myself in for an early reassurance scan on Sunday – By then I would be 6+6 weeks pregnant. The reason is: I'm paranoid and a general over worrier!!!! Saying this I'm worried that ill go and they wont be able to detect a heartbeat as im too early. Im 6+2 weeks dated from the first day of my last period.

Am I overthinking?

Should I cancel or just go?

SleepFreeZone · 10/08/2017 18:29

My scan went okay. Harmony booked for Sunday so let's see what it says 😬
