Apologies in advance, this is a proper moan-fest! :)

I'm 38+4. First baby. Fed up.
Since the start of this week, I've been struggling big time with being so heavily pregnant. I'm trying hard not to rant to people IRL so I've started a thread in case there are others in a similar situation. Poor OH has had an earful lately and he's walking on eggshells. I'm so done with this pregnancy malarkey and just want to meet my baby now!

My vents are:
I'm constantly exhausted
I'm perpetually uncomfortable
Lightening crotch Hmm
Can't go far as driving is becoming difficult
I feel like my pelvis is about to collapse
The pressure is causing pins and needles at the top of my legs
I'm fed up of constantly going back and forth to pee
I haven't slept properly for months
During the night, I often wake up needing to change position because my hips hurt
Because the baby has basically run out of room and stretches out, it feels like my stomach is about the rip open
From above, parts of my belly (especially the left side) feel very tender, almost like its bruised
Normal daily activities like cooking and cleaning absolutely drain me
I'm sick of wearing the same pair of leggings and 3 tops in rotation because they're all that fit
I want to eat goat's cheese with a glass of wine

The last is silly but oh well. It doesn't help matters when I had a minor false alarm on Wednesday and got my hopes up but it was nothing. At my last appt 2 weeks ago (36+5) the baby was 2-3/5ths engaged and I've dropped loads so thought something might have happened by now. But nope, still here feeling like an overstuffed tired hippo :)

Anyone else in the later stages of pregnancy and fed up? Please come join me and vent Cake

Congratulations to all those who have had their babies. I'm 38+2 and having a section on Friday. So excited I could burst!

churton91 · 19/02/2017 22:57

Hi everyone,
New here and first time ever posting on a forum but completely fed up now so looking to find people around my due date to give me some hope that labour is not so far away!
38+2 weeks, first timer and I feel like I have been pregnant for ever!
Things that are getting to me are:
-I feel so huge and bump is so heavy now.
-My OH although is amazing, doesn't understand how difficult even just standing up hurts, plus he works away so he doesn't see the daily struggles.
-Turning over in bed is so difficult and such a strain.
-Struggling to put pants and shoes on
-Lifting my legs is agony with SPD, it burns so bad!
-Heartburn!
-I get so out of breath climbing stairs I end up being sick.
-Last appointment at 36+6 and not even engaged.
-Cant hold bladder for longer than 10 minutes.
-No signs what so ever of her coming, keep getting period type aches and back ache but it never turns into anything :(

Sorry for the rant, really fed up and just wish that little girly would make her appearance then I can have my body back, feel normal again and get to meet her after all this time.

Hope all you mummies in the same situation have a safe and speedy delivery xx

Rarotonga · 19/02/2017 23:32

Hi
I'm 38+1. Am hoping for an appearance very soon so the pesky pregnancy symptoms go away, but no signs as of yet.
Hope things start to happen for everybody soon.

Daisypullsitoff · 20/02/2017 07:41

Congratulations User and GTS! GTS, that sounds scary but glad you have a healthy baby and hope that you are recovering. Just seen from my notes that my due date was originally today and was brought forward by scan so have decided to reset and am no longer overdue Grin.

Hang in there everyone!

Letsgetreadytorumbleagain · 20/02/2017 16:23

Congratulations GTS Flowers

I'm 39 weeks today. Midwife tried to do a sweep but couldn't manage it - cervix is completely shut. Appt booked with consultant tomorrow to discuss booking a c section.

SofsMum17 · 21/02/2017 00:28

Churton I hear you!! It's utterly miserable, our sympathies.

Congratulations to those who've had their babies now, enjoy those newborn snuggles!

I was reminded this weekend by a friend who's just been through one of "these" pregnancies that not all the symptoms go away quickly (aaargh). Yes the mahoosive bump is out of the way, but SPD can carry on for a while, esp if breastfeeding. I remember this being the case with my dd, although I can't remember how long it was before I started feeling normal-ish again... What have your experiences been?

Daisypullsitoff · 22/02/2017 09:40

Sofsmum I had quite bad SPD last time (been lucky this time as was fully expecting to struggle again) and mine went straight after birth so there is hope. I breastfed for quite a while as well so that didn't seem to affect it but I guess like all these things it is luck of the draw!

Hope everyone is getting on ok. Lots of niggles here, lower back pain, strong BH etc so am keeping my fingers crossed that something must surely happen soon - right?!!

AreWeThereYet000 · 22/02/2017 21:37

I posted earlier on in the thread, now 3 days overdue and 2 sweeps down arghhh!! If I hear the phrase 'she will be here when she's ready' one more time I don't think I'll be responsible for my actions hahah! Anyone else feeling really frustrated all the time? X

Imavinoops · 22/02/2017 21:46

Hello again everyone!
I'm up to 38+1 today and fed up doesn't even cut it!

Babyoops is measuring small on scans so we are being induced on my due date in a couple of weeks. Just crossing my fingers she comes before that. (I hear inductions are more painful...?)

SofsMum17 · 22/02/2017 23:33

Thanks Daisy, that's reassuring; I've had a look on some of the other threads about SPD prospects after the birth and it really does seem to be down to each individual case... Quite honestly I'm just looking forward to losing the massive bump and being able to cuddle "it" in my arms instead!

Like you lots of niggles, increasing pressure in pelvis, BH and lower back pain, hospital check on Monday showed all was well, baby very engaged and cervix softening although not yet effaced... now it's just down to when he wants to come out... 38+5 today. Oh and had health centre checkup today, high bp and proteinuria, which sent me into a panic about pre-eclampsia and spent most of this pm feeling a bit emosh... no other symptoms as yet so hoping it was just a case of not having drunk enough water and hurrying to get to the appt... :/

Gaaaah · 24/02/2017 16:09

Had my baby boy this morning. Planned section. He's beautiful, im just basking in his loveliness!

churton91 · 24/02/2017 21:01

Congratulations Gaaaah!

Yeah I've heard different stories about spd after birth and now just realising that it might not just disappear once baby is here :(

I saw consultant today (39 weeks) as my spd and sacroiliac joints are just agonising. She couldn't manage a sweep as cervix are shut but did say it has softened which is a start. Induction is booked in for Thursday when I'll be 39+6 so at least there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have had the worst few days in so much pain so although induction might not be the most pleasant labour I'm hoping that it can at least ease these symptoms. I've had period pains for the past week now so hoping that my body is working away to give me an easier time if we do reach induction next week!

SofsMum17 · 25/02/2017 12:49

Yay, congratulations Gaaaah! Enjoy those cuddles :)

Churton, induction sounds like a plan, hope it improves the pain significantly even if it takes longer to go completely... If any consolation I was induced with my first at 40+4 and it was absolutely fine; took a few hours of slowly upping dose until I got some decent contractions but then my waters broke and it all progressed fairly quickly (within what can happen!) - about 7 hours from waters breaking to baby being born. The contractions are intense; I took the epidural just on the basis of thinking "this could go on for another hour or another 48 hours", and in the event I think it helped me relax and things progressed quite quickly from there. I could feel everything still, move my legs etc, just without the pain. I know it's not everyone's experience but that was mine, fwiw!

churton91 · 25/02/2017 13:13

That's good to hear that you didn't have too much of a traumatic experience.
My plan is to try and stay as relaxed as possible as it should hopefully help me control the pain. I think if I do find that it's taking a long time and the contractions are severe I will opt for an epidural just to keep me relaxed.
I'm trying to not have too many plans and see how things go, that way I won't be getting stressed out if things don't go to plan.

churton91 · 26/02/2017 15:23

Just a little update.
I went into hospital during the night as had the most painful pressure that would not ease but wasn't feeling baby move. Had a scan and all is good with baby.
Came home and one hour later my waters broke, had strong contractions every 5 minutes but they have now dissapeared. Hoping she makes an appearance today or have to go back to hospital tomorrow to be induced.,
The end is near though! Xx

OuchBollocks · 26/02/2017 15:27

I haven't been on this thread for a while but it popped up at a good time. I'm 38+5 now and so over the whole pregnancy thing (I know I'm not even due, far less overdue, but still). ELCS booked for Thursday. SO uncomfortable, my bump has been aching on and off all day, can't work out if it's baby position or BH or what. Feel queasy and weepy too. Want the baby out now please.

OuchBollocks · 26/02/2017 15:29

Posted too soon sorry. Meant to say good luck churton91, hope she shifts herself this evening with a minimum of fuss. And congratulations to all of you who have had your babies Flowers

churton91 · 26/02/2017 15:46

Thank you ouchbollocks.

Good luck for Thursday. Hope you have a speedy recovery xx

Monstamio · 26/02/2017 19:24

Good luck Churton. Hope things start ramping up for you soon. Best of luck for the c section too ouch.

churton91 · 26/02/2017 19:36

Thank you Monstamio x

churton91 · 01/03/2017 19:32

Hey everyone. Hope your all doing well and due dates are getting closer for you all.
I had my little girl yesterday morning. Born at 3.37am weighing 7lb 1. Absolutely besotted with her and totally in love!
Xxx

SofsMum17 · 01/03/2017 19:52

Yay Churton! Lovely news. :D

Ouchbollocks- I so hear you - been having a sicky weepy day today myself; 39+5 and so fed up! Hope all goes well for you.

Really wanted to feel what natural start to labour is like but am seriously considering accepting early induction, will have hospital check on Monday (40+3) if no baby by then to discuss options...!
