Is this what full term is like? 38 weeks, tired, emotional wreck

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. DS was prem, EMCS. Have a ELCS booked for 40 weeks.

Have been getting cramps and increasing discharge (lovely) for a few weeks. This last week they're definitely getting worse. The cramps are starting in my back and radiating down my legs, the discharge is heavier and browner. My pubic bone feels like it's been attacked with a sledgehammer. I think the foetus is head butting my bowel. I've been feeling quite tired for a couple of days but today I feel like I've hit a brick wall. I'm so so very very tired, I can barely function. I've spent most of the day crying about how tired I am.

I never made it to full term with DS, is this what it's like? Have I really got two weeks of this?

Yes that's it!! I was 41 weeks with ds, in 42 degree heat. Fuck I was grumpy and sweaty. Good luck!!!

I hear you! I'm far more tolerant this time than my last two pregnancies but the feeling tired is awful, I just have to lie in bed most of the day, napping for a few hours at a time. I went from jaw droppingly tired to feeling normal and now back to the tiredness again. I would say it will get better as I only have 1-2 weeks max but then I will still be endlessley tired because I'll have the baby to look after :/

I think the only thing to do if circumstances allow is just to nap when you feel like it and don't feel guilty or like you have to have some sort of routine. You're tired when you're tired and that's that! I feel your pain though, I often as I say nap but wake up with aches and pains all over which doesn't help to feel well rested xx

Oh and take some paracetamol if you're able to take the edge off the aches and pains

Take heart from the following: I turned into "Arsehole of the Universe™" weeks 39,40 and 41. Finally had DD at 42w and nearly alienated every friend I had in the process.

Felt really bad after.

Oh yeah haha I also feel as if I'm slowly going to become a moaning shouting twat! This past week 38-39 tomorrow I have been feeling increasingly irritable. I have to take a step back and a deep breath, realise there's sod all I can do to hurry things up and swallow it. Ugh

And if I get one more text of "almost there" I swear I am putting my phone in the woodburner

They should find a way to replicate this and sell it to Guantanamo bay... This is true torture.

I've had Lightening sodding McQueen on the tv far too much the last few days but I absolutely don't have the ability to sit on the floor to play for more than 4 minutes... DS is only one so I'm not worried about any lasting damage of watching cartoons on repeat.

LegendofBeans my husband might disagree with you... I have totally lost my sense of humour and every time he tries to cheer me up he gets his head chewed off... and then we sit in silence while I eat cake.

Oh fuck.. I have a well meaning friend who keeps texting "only X weeks to go" fuck off with only, these are the longest days of my life.

38 weeks tomorrow also, feeling your pain! Technically if I go two weeks over I could be doing this shit til March.
Uncomfortable. Irritable. Tired. And fed up with the 'is baby here yet' messages.

Late pregnancy is unutterably shit. I send sympathy.

However tired you are with a newborn it does not compare with the grimness of 39 weeks pregnant.

I remember being 38 weeks with DS. I had a section booked at 39+4 (would have been 39 but Christmas was in the way).

I remember being so utterly, utterly miserable that I was bouncing on the birthing ball trying to get things moving (even though I'd have rather avoided an EMCS). I had just had enough. DM phoned and was shocked I was fed up. Her pregnancies has been magical

I'm the grumpiest baggage going at 40+3. So far today I've sent a shitty text to my best mate, told my sister off and ignored a work colleague. In my defence, they need to FUCK RIGHT OFF asking if there's any sign of baby. I'm so uncomfortable. Sending you and a large imaginary gin.

Anyone who is 40+ has my absolute sympathy.

I do feel bad that I'm whining about being full term after a preemie but does full term really have to last up to 5 weeks.

So glad I found this thread. I'm sitting here unable to get out of bed I'm so tired all I do is sleep and bite peoples heads off when they try and talk to me! Was starting to think there was something badly wrong but now I know it's just that being this pregnant sucks

Oh god yeah these last few weeks are the hardest!!!!! I'm 37+3 with #6 and by crikey my body is definitely struggling, all I want to do is climb under the covers and cry/sleep until baby arrives! Pgp has stepped up anther notch the last few days and I am so enormous and awkward and sore and uncomfortable everything is such a massive effort!!!!!!

Yes, 7 days! 7 days of trying to keep my pubic bone from falling apart, struggling to put shoes/socks/trousers on, sore ribs, crying at everything, having no energy, and trying to keep my one year old in a routine and entertained.

My mil had 3 magical pregnancies, bluebell, she also had three children who slept for 12 hours every night from the second they were out of her vagina.

Pooky I've told my husband thousands of times that I have no sense of humour right now and he still insists on cracking jokes and attempting banter. He's lucky I haven't stabbed him.
