Is this what full term is like? 38 weeks, tired, emotional wreck

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. DS was prem, EMCS. Have a ELCS booked for 40 weeks.

Have been getting cramps and increasing discharge (lovely) for a few weeks. This last week they're definitely getting worse. The cramps are starting in my back and radiating down my legs, the discharge is heavier and browner. My pubic bone feels like it's been attacked with a sledgehammer. I think the foetus is head butting my bowel. I've been feeling quite tired for a couple of days but today I feel like I've hit a brick wall. I'm so so very very tired, I can barely function. I've spent most of the day crying about how tired I am.

I never made it to full term with DS, is this what it's like? Have I really got two weeks of this?

Yes, all of the above! 38+I can't remember... Plus piles now. Utterly miserableSad

MyMrKnightley · 06/02/2017 06:38

It's easier with a newborn that 40+ pregnant - I had sepsis and a newborn and it was still easier!

MyMrKnightley · 06/02/2017 06:39

It will end I promise you can't be pregnant forever

Bluebellevergreen · 06/02/2017 07:22

39 weeks today and no freaking signs of nada Sad

sphinxster · 06/02/2017 07:58

But I have been pregnant forever and I've still got 7 days left.

Oh yeah, piles! Passing razor blades.

Oh god finally someone understands! 37+4 and it's getting worse every day, I'm exhausted but cannot, no matter what I try, get more than 3 hours sleep in a row Hmm
My pgp has really stepped up its game this week and I can feel myself snapping at my dh over things that normally I'd laugh at.
Potentially 4 more weeks of this crap, but no, I'm not allowed to moan because pregnancy is a gift and I'm lucky to be experiencing it! (I absolutely do understand that btw, just sick of having to smile and agree how magical it is!)

SmellySphinx · 06/02/2017 17:44

Anyone else get irrationally, albeit mildly, angry/upset/pissed off/ENVIOUS whatever you want to call it... that other people are further along than you? Even reading that someone is in hospital being induced! It's fucking awful and I wouldn't wish anyone a stay in hospital ( yeah I know it's usually for the best etc) but [gritted teeth] oh how AWFUL, hope it's quick for you x
(why can't I GO INTO LABOUR!!!!)

Totally irrational. BUT!

sphinxster · 06/02/2017 19:36

Smellysphinx I hate to admit it but yes!! I know 3 women who got ELCS at 38 weeks and the bastards are making me waiting until I'm almost 40 weeks. So very jealous.

DH has come home saying his throat hurts and he's coming down with a cold. I don't want to hear it. I don't want to know if he's in discomfort. I want him to just silently feed me cake.

My throat has been hurting for two months due to stomach acid burning through it...and I know you should avoid cake if you have stomach acid but fuck off!!

My sister is supposed to be a bridesmaid at my wedding and has just announced she's preggo. She'll be 37 weeks by then (fingers crossed it all goes well) and you're making me properly realise it's really unlikely she'll be able to do it Sad

Ah well. If she feels as crap as you do I doubt I'll have the gall to feel much self pity Grin here's hoping the next few days fly in for you OP Cake

sphinxster · 06/02/2017 22:40

And now my piles have started bleeding spontaneously. What joy!

Craic my sister was still going to body pump until 38 weeks with her first - she was crippled with her second though. You never know! Maybe organise an armchair with the wedding venue Grin and I'm assuming there'll be lots of cake.

DH brought a cold home so now 39weeks pregnant plus the cold from hell

thereisnocheese · 07/02/2017 06:22

Poor you. I was 15 days after due date and it was hell. Time seems to slow down. Hoping you can get comfy somehow and remember it can't last forever!

sweetchilli77 · 07/02/2017 07:33

I love this thread....Im 28+3 and thinking things are getting a bit shit.......

Theres me complaining about swollen feet . Jesus if this thread hasn't shit me up its certainly made me prepared for what is yet to come.

I may send a txt and forward it on too everyone stating they must not txt shit like "any sign" "not long yet" and all the other stupid txts people send.

I also have a preemie who will have a corrected age of 9 months once baby comes....im struggling now.
Oh fuck, oh jesus ...

drinkyourmilk · 07/02/2017 07:48

I'm 32+3 and I've been thinking that it's not that bad (if you ignore the hyperemesis and insulin). Guess I've all the fun to come.
Ladies I hope you all start labouring today, and if not then your other halves bring cake home. And are silent. FlowersCake

SmellySphinx · 07/02/2017 09:22

Pfft bloolocks...? Bolkocks ffs, I can't type! BOLLOCKS* (got there eventually) to avoiding cake! Bringing home colds AND complaining about it?! Do any of you have a shed that other halves can nurse their colds in? Otherwise it's camping stove and chair in the garden!

SmellySphinx · 07/02/2017 09:27

@drinkyourmilk I really, really have had it easy this pregnancy, no issues at all except for the niggles. Bit of insomnia, aching etc etc all the usual. I have no reason to moan at all, I can't even imagine going through half of what other women do! Hats off completely to those of you really going through it! X I'm just impatient Grin

Bluebellevergreen · 07/02/2017 18:27

Another night of no sleep. If I lie on my left side I cant breathe. If Inlie on my right side I can breathe (funny nasal bone) but then I spend the whole night in the paranoia that baby is not moving/ not getting oxygen and then i dont sleep.
Lost my plug (or part of it) yesterday but nothing is happening

I'm loving the replies on here. I'm having the worst pregnancy ever 36+5 now and my section is booked in for 39weeks can't wait don't know how much more I can take. My boys are irritating the hell out of me, I could slap hubby on to another planet, in laws are over bearing and can shove their comments where the sun doesn't shine and my best friend can keep her snide remarks to herself...I've had enough!!! It's no fun being in constant pain, baby is breech so she's head butting my ribs and kicking the life out of my down below. Can't walk, sciatica is crippling me pubic bone is about to disintegrate into nothing. Heartburn is horrendous even water sets it off. Aggghhhh I'm done...sorry ladies I know most of you are going through the same or worse wish you all safe and speedy deliveries FlowersCake

Glitterbaby17 · 07/02/2017 21:26

Urg this is worrying me - am meant to be going on a 3 day hen weekend at 38 weeks - thought it would be nice last hurrah with the girls and might distract me - but is this a horrible idea?

BigApple11 · 07/02/2017 21:35

It's a horrible idea. (Sorry)

TheLegendOfBeans · 07/02/2017 22:04

Oh my god Glitter - with respect I couldn't think of anything worse.

Bluebellevergreen · 08/02/2017 02:52

glitter good on you but I imagine myself sitting on a gym ball in a club gulping gaviscon and falling asleep in a corner.

Glitterbaby17 · 08/02/2017 10:39

It's a weekend away - perhaps they can dance around my prone body 😂
