What are you doing with yourself? 40+1, two sweeps down, lost plug, 2-3 cm dilated but nothing happening. Mother thinks I shouldn't be driving but I live rurally and have hyperactive toddler ds so can't be confined to the house, it's harder work!

Only position we could manage was fr behind as it was just too uncomfortable with him or me on top.

Lol at the sex talk. Husband was worried he was 'losing his touch'. I did keep telling him to just get on with it, it wasn't about my enjoyment..........

Can I ask notalota did you have an epidural? What was it like to have such a big baby? I have been told this baby is big (expected over 10lbs)

Yeah it's definitely something to be endured rather than enjoyed at this point! How romantic! Good job men are normally quite reliable in that department..

Are you thinking of having an epidural achange?

I'm trying to keep an open mind. I had section with my first (he was breech), with my second I delivered vaginally and I actually found labour bearable (didn't have any pain relief). The thoughts of a epidural scare me (with the section I was terrified of the spinal block).

Were your other babies big? I wouldn't worry about it, sounds like you'll be fine if you found your last one OK?

Not particularly big. First was 7lbs 5 and second 8lbs 9.
Had lots of scans this time due to his size and they keep testing me for GD (it's never been positive). Seems he's just a big baby. I am in a lot of discomfort though and worry I won't be fit for labour when it does eventually arrive.

So how far along are you now achange and buckyou? I have lost track of everyone! bluebell how are you holding up? Any news grumpus? I genuinely starting to feel like she is not coming on her own &that another C Section is on the cards. Trying hard not to get down about it and be defeatist but not being very successful....

Ah I am 41 weeks on Friday. Yeah I had a failed induction with 1st at 41+12 which ended in C section. Do not care to repeat!! At least there are still a few of us! X

Oh no that sounds a nightmare. I went into labour naturally at 41+4 last time so I'm hoping I won't need inducing... but might be close!

It's just so harsh how slowly time starts going towards the end!!!

@achangewilldomegood yes I had an epidural in preparation for the syntocinon drip which I hear can be pretty brutal. Didn't end up with the drip in the ens. The epidural actually wasn't what I expected, it certainly wasn't pain free to start with. It was the epidural top up that caused me problems but that was due to a medical condition I have.

I was adamant with ds1 that I didn't want an epidural, bur like your first he was elcs due to breech so had the spinal.

Re weight predictions, growth scan predicted top end of 8lbs,l. So way out!

I had an epidural with first, but by that point I had been in for ages and was off my head on gas and air so it didn't seem like a bad option! I remembered this morning that my original date (based on cycle and conception date) was the 15th but they brought it forward at dating scan... so maybe around the 15th is more accurate?? That is what I am telling myself... I had a glass of wine on Friday bluebell - Midwife even recommended it!!!

Panda my date was 15th then 13 after the scan!

OH my the fucking texts.

This is people I never see too!!!! WTf every time I get one I get so mad this wont help relax to bring labour what do I do???

I have ignored, said "nope, I'll let people know when it is time" and I thought those were pretty good hints but nope!!!!

I had a sweep on Friday and it didn't do anything I am afraid buckyou. Ooh bluebell we kight just synch!
Today things really feel like something might be happening!! I had a super energy burst yesterday (which resulted in lots of cooking!) and today I have had had serious period pains all day. Also lost more of my plug yesterday/today. I have had pains, a show and lost some plug already in last 2 weeks but I just think this might be it!! Just waiting for pains to start becoming regular...may well be wishful thinking but I going to try and maintain positive thinking!

I just had my baby today at 41+3! Yay! Perfect short labour and home for lunch! He's a bit of a whopper at 9lb 8oz but seemed to come out pretty easily.

panda I had period pains in the night and today lots of energy, I did cooking, cleaning and baking Smile

I so hope something happens because tomorrow I will be 40+5 and midwife has booked me an induction for next Saturday and I really really really don't want one Sad
