Just being nosey, really.

I managed to fall pg straight away on our first month of trying but sadly miscarried. Now we've been trying for 4 months since and no joy, even though we BD at the right times, etc.

So I was just wondering how long it took you all to get pg so I have an idea of the average around here?

Many thanks!

DS1 was a lovely 'accident' (I was on the pill.)

3 months for current pregnancy. Used the ovulation test on month 3 and pregnant immediately.

DivaSkyChick · 26/02/2007 16:37

I'm 40 so I thought we'd be in for a struggle. Took three cycles...

PFB will arrive a few weeks after our one year anniversary.

MrsMar · 26/02/2007 16:38

14 months... we're both 36. I had started to panic, but when I went to my gp with my bfp, she smiled and said, "see, didn't take that long did it?"

burstingbug · 26/02/2007 16:40

10mths ttc DS1. 9mths after DS1 was born, we conceived DS2.

jdd0709 - I am monitoring my CM and using Ovulation Predictor Kits. I seem to ovulate between CD16 and 21 each month (I have 30 - 35 day cycles). I don't think I've ever ovulated on CD14! We make sure we BD every day from CD14 onwards though.

First time came off the pill, got pregnant on the third month of trying, had ds.

Second time again took 3 months after stopping pill, but miscarried.

This time took on the third month again, now approx 8 weeks, hoping this one works

Overrun · 26/02/2007 17:19

Ds1 is what is known as a happy accident, and dts took one month. I was lucky I guess

3sEnough · 26/02/2007 17:20

Hi - 4 months of no contraception then 8 months of full on trying for first preg (miscarriage), 4 months ds, 1 month for 2nd miscarriage, 1 month for dd1 and then 2 months for dd2 (actively avoiding - oops!)

Snarf02 · 26/02/2007 17:40

We are really lucky got pg straight away both times. Daughter is 17 mths and still bf twice a day so did not know if would get pg straight away with this baby when started to try (now 10 wks) but luckily we did. My mum was really fertile and got pg when bf me with my sister. I hope when my sister starts trying soon that she is as lucky

Lemmiwinks · 26/02/2007 17:46

I'm currently pregnant now and I became pregnant on the first try after coming off the pill, much to my surprise and delight. I was extremely fortunate and I'm very grateful.

toadstool · 26/02/2007 20:44

First time round, came off pill and bingo. 2nd time round, first try with Persona kit after 2 years of vaguely trying but nothing happening. 3rd time [after mc ], same thing: vaguely tried for 6 months, re-started Persona kit, got PG in second month. Midwife said: Gosh, you must be, er, fertile. No, not really - it's the timing, that's all.

CanSleepWeirdShifts · 26/02/2007 21:02

3.5 years, miscarried at 12 weeks, then another (very obsessive ) 7 months to conceive dd.

macneil · 26/02/2007 21:04

Took me 2 months, aged 34. Had sex a lot (twice a day?) the month we conceived, and I always hear that that's the best advice.

Definitely all about timing and lots of sex - sounds like you're doing everything right! We also found that er rear-entry positions seemed to do the job too - sorry tmi!

cinnamongreyhound · 27/02/2007 15:05

6 months (am 26) but I think that the month we conceived I had removed a lot of stresses that had been around for the previous 5 months! BDing a lot definately helps and I read threads when ttc that suggested that rear entry positions do work best, as jdd said. That worked for us

Tinasan · 27/02/2007 15:50

Was lucky to become pregnant at first month of trying (I was 32)....DD now 18 weeks and shouting her head off in her bouncy chair!! Good luck x

PizPizPiz · 27/02/2007 16:05

pg1 2.4 years
pg2 6 months

cupcake78 · 27/02/2007 16:10

1st - Accident
2nd - thinking about starting and OOPS!!!
3rd - after trying for 3 months giving up for two and letting DH try just once.

Will have to be careful when I sneeze in future

melrose · 27/02/2007 16:16

I was pretty lucky

DS1 1 cycle

this pg - 4 cycles, much to DH relief as I was becominga hit demading over "fertile times" and as I have an irregular cycle the "window" lated about 10 days!!

Twiga · 27/02/2007 16:19

1st pg - 2 cycles
2nd pg - 4/5 cycles but was following mc of 1st so body adjusting etc.
this pg - 4 cycles but was still bfing dd which I think will have had some impact.

Not really long on any counts although 2nd pg felt like a lifetimes wait after losing the 1st. Feel we've been very fortunate.

goingfor3 · 27/02/2007 16:22

First three times I got pregnant straightaway. First ended in a late miscarriage and I have 2 dd's. Now on 3rd month on trying for a third.

Piffle · 27/02/2007 16:25

ds - was on the pill, had d+v bug, got pregnant same month (obv after d+v had cleared up lol)

dd - we decided to try for a baby when dp got back from conference first week of Feb 02
dd born oct 02, so prob that night he came back...

now as for no 3
since dd was 6 mths old and she is now 4.5 yrs.
Had one ectopic, two miscarriages and am finally about ready to drop as am 37 wks pregnant this week
But it was hard work after those two first easy experiences

divastropwantstodrop · 27/02/2007 16:25

2nd preg-happened when ds1 was about 10 weeks old and i hadnt even had a period.
