Here it is! Roll up all those who want to halt the decline!

Right, I'll kick off. I am 30 weeks pg with second baby. Started off by losing weight until about 20 weeks (due to bad ms) and since then have been like a pig, eating whatever I like, always treating myself to cake etc. I can't bear to be left with loads of weight to lose like last time (as it did get me down). So, want to curb my eating habits now and just eat healthily and avoid piling on too much (MORE) unecessary flab.

haven't got a CLUE what I weigh (thank God) but I am 5"6 and my prpreg weight was nine stone.

Right, next confession!

better join me thinks!

I am 28 1/2 weeks pg with second baby. Hardly ate anything till 24 weeks due to bad ms and heartburn but still put weight on... Since 24 weeks have been so hungry and had cravings for marmalade on toast! I am 5'2" and haven't weighed myself for some weeks - I daren't! My prpg wt was 9st.

saw part of a home vid today of me pre-kids weighing 8st - I was SO thin! Will I ever be that thin again?!

NEXT!!!

Thanks dinny for getting the ball rolling.

I am 26 weeks pregnant with 3rd baby.

Started off this pregnancy a stone overweight and have already gained one and a half stone. I couldn't possibly reveal what my weight is now because I am too ashamed. I do not want to diet but like dinny I just want to stop the pigging out and incorporate a walk a day to help tone the muscles.

Although I eat at least the recommended 5 portions of fruit and veg, I also absolutely love chocolate, crisps etc. I would love the support of you fellow mumsnetters in the remaining months to maintain a very balanced diet for the rest of my pregnancy. I had always been slim until I was pregnant with ds1 and I have struggled to lose the weight ever since purely through my own greed.

I know I will, and for the sake of the baby and feeding after need, to put on more weight. I could happily cope with another 7 - 10 lbs. I just desperately do not want to gain any more than that.

Well, I'm not pregnant but I noticed that by just stoping eating chocolate, crisps and adding salt and sugar to food I kept my wight fine at least until the eight month when it was just me and my bump and nothing else, but the nineth I went up by 20kg without changing my diet, DS was big but not as much to justify that... I think it was fate

Eyelash this is the best place for support. Please remember that you gain most weight in your 2nd trimester - I am sure it will start to tapper off in the next few weeks

this is my first pregnancy, I was about 10lbs overweight before I got pg, like most woman feel they would like to get rid of that last 10lbs. However I have now gained 2 stone and am only 22 weeks! I have been eating like a pig and feeling a tad bit ashamed of myself. I am 5'10 so am lucky in that respect but don't want to end up having to lose 30lbs after the baby is born. I am feeling incredibly tired these days and the walk home from the tube at the end of my working day is enough to kill me let alone go and exercise. I promise to start cutting back on the crap I eat

Oh dear, I'm 34 wks pg with my 2nd and haven't weighed myself since my booking appointment at 9wks! I had already put on 8lbs by then.

This morning so far I've had:

White coffee (no sugar)
Packet of crisps
Large glass of fruit smoothie
Turkish Delight
Small Bag of dried fruit

And I'll probably be hungry again before lunch at 12.30pm. I like to graze all morning.

I'll just point out that I've been at work since 7.30am!

Hello all

Just knowing this thread is there has been such a help. I have allowed myself one indulgance a day (chocolate, biscuit, etc). But now having weetabix for breakfast about 7am, and then toast, no butter with bacon (at work) or a banana (at home) about 9ish and finding this is taking me through nicely to lunchtime with no snacks. Definitely a two breakfast affair

I am also making sure the evening meals can be adapted so rest of family can have extras, sauces, butter etc with their meals which I then leave off. I have also had a walk each day.

Again, my aim is not to lose weight but I must have 'not' eaten at least 1,500 calories this week and had some exercise as well so am feeling quite proud. The hardest part though is keeping it up which is where I hope we can help each other.

How is everybody else doing?

Hello everyone . I've been feeling a lot more in control this last couple of days. I have decided to keep my afternoon muffin/cake as a pregnancy treat and to cut the crap at other times. Have been just eating less and only when hungry instead of shovelling in tons of food thinking "may as well"! Also, have been having my tea proper when dd has hers and not waiting to eat with dh. Stops the temptation of eating dd's leftovers then another meal.

Hey, anyone know where I can get a cheap sarong-type bit of cloth? I have this really good tip I'm going to try after delivery. Basically wrap said material fairly tightly round waist where bump was and leave it on for a week (except when bathing). Supposed to really help tum back to normal. May be a load of b*llockd but worth a try

Well done dinny.

Interesting theory about the sarong. How about going into a fabric shop and buying an end of roll. You could then take it to your local sewing person to make into a sarong shape. If it works for you, I will certainly give it a try.

dinny · 30/06/2004 11:34

Thanks, Eyelash. Think I may just buy some fabric like you say and use it as it is. Anyone else going to try it?

Bizarrely, I am not feeling so ungainly at the moment. Must be psychological.

Can I join in please ?

I am 16 weeks with no 2 and I very keen not to pile it on like last time (about 3 stone!). So far put on about 1 stone (help).

I am determined not to eat as much junk this time and I am also lucky enough to have time to go to gym. Went on Monday, felt very energetic and really went for it, got home, had brunch and then a 2 hour nap - oops.

I try to fill the house with Muller Lights, apples, grapes - anything easy to snack on and I avoid the "naughty" aisle in the supermarket. Having said that 4 large bars of chocolate still found it's way into my cupboard - and 2 into my stomach!!!!!

Hi all, so glad this thread is here, although it does make me hungry just reading it. I'm 25 weeks and have decided today that I am going to have one breakfast. It's revolutionary. I have been having up to three. Don't know how much weight I've put on lately but have a feeling it's crept up somewhat from the not immodest 7 or 8 pounds it was last time I checked. Have a good day everyone. And try to sail a steady course over the weekend.

Brilliant thread Dinny (as I wipe the toast crumbs away!). I'm really up for this, as I have gained A LOT so far. Am 25/6 weeks pg with my second.

Was ok with pg1 (in terms of losing the weight) but I feel I have put so much more on this time and am paranoid I won't be able to lose it.

So far today I've had:
2 weetabix with 1tsp sugar (breakfast 1)
fruit tea
1 milky decaf coffee
1 normal tea
2 brown toast & marmite (breakfast 2)

Hope we can all keep it up!

What is it about pregnancy and the double breakfast phenomenon??!!

I put on four stone with dd1 - went from 9-13 stone! Lots it all (but only just!) before getting pg this time. I do far less walking now than when pg first time (dd1 hates sitting in her buggy at all, so can't do long walks). Do swim twice a week and yoga twice a week - my only virtue.

This thread is helping!

I've had major problems with food in the past (dress size variously 8-14) and am now 25 weeks.

So far I have decided that I will eat 5 fruit & veg, balance of carbs, protein etc and then, when that's done, I can have something else. What often happens though, is that by the time that's all done:
a) I am full up (!)
b) My body is quite happy and the craving for other stuff isn't so bad.

Although this morning I have eaten lots of fruit and now I am eating crap by lunchtime!

I'm 34 weeks and everyone keeps telling me how small and neat I look but I have put on about 32lbs already.
With dd I put on 3 stone and I think I'm headed the same way this time. I'm not too worried though as I didn't find it that hard to lose last time.
I do eat for England but try to keep it healthy. However evidence is that eating chocolate makes your baby happy and I want him to be happy so I will conitnue to make that sacrfice for him.
So far today I've had:
At home - 1 Actimel
On arrival at work - I large bowl of mixed breakfast cereals, 1 banana, 2 apples, 1 cup of tea.
For lunch - Egg sandwich, M&S avocado and tomato salad, entire 650g punnet of cherries.
I do tend to eat dinner too late but we just don't seem to be organised enough to get it on the table before about 9pm unless it's something that dd will be eating with us.
Good luck everyone.

That cursed second breakfast! Just when I thought I was getting through the day without it, it popped up as 'pudding'after lunch. It was a fruity, nutty bowl of muesli, so not desperate, but really, I have no willpower.

Today so far:

1.5 piece of toast
1 wholemeal cheese sandwich
1 banana
2 apples
1 pear
1 bowl of peanuts

Now thinking what to eat.

I am more of a two lunch person.

Time for a Muller Light - no doubt will power diminish later today - but must have treat. I too shall make the sacrifice for baby and have some chocolate - thank you for that Sponge.

dh keeps bringing crisps or chocs home at the moment - so hard to resist at that time of the day.

Hello well done for this thread Dinny, great idea. I've blossomed! can I join?! I ate sooo well up until May and since then, well, had a "holiday" from counting and now there's no denying it, it's not all baby.

I did stand on the scales at a friends house and I have never seen that number before..(not brave enought to confess ) this has to be the limit. I'm 5'9" and can carry it to a point, but did split my trousers at work on Tuesday!!! Can it be true? I need help?

Thanks again Dinny.

I've made a promise to the baby to eat properly, and here is the public promise! The blossom is going to be good!

Wishing everyone a good w/e

Confession time - afraid I pigged out yesterday afternoon on lemon cake (3 slices) at a coffee group and have had kit-kat this morning . Why can't I just stop at one slice - but that has always been my problem. Back to the healthy stuff now that I have that off my chest - but on my hips instead.

Have a good weekend everybody.
