carrick I'm so pleased you're home! I can understand why that in itself is anxiety inducing though. I think everyone feels that anyway - the sense of "argh, now it is all down to me to keep the baby alive & well!" and that must be so exacerbated by what you've just been through. Hopefully a couple of days at home and you will start to relax into it. I'm guessing you're still under the MW's and will be getting home visits for a little while still? Hope those are reassuring. Glad the gaviscon is helping him.

ginger you're coping admirably with a very stressful drawn out situation Flowers. I also find cleaning is my therapy when worrying & trying to pass time. Also ironing, there's something bizarrely soothing about it! I always think that at least if I've got a clean bathroom, fresh bedding etc then whatever horrible thing might be about to happen I will have nicer surroundings in which to deal with it... I'd say I hope the days pass quickly but I bet they are dragging horribly. Look after yourself.

Had my check this morning and cervix is soft and central which is apparently good but she could only get 1 fingertip in so couldn't sweep. Baby head 4/5 palpable still. Booked for a sweep attempt #2 on Sunday morning and been sent home for sex and stair climbing. 40+3.

Edenslight · 26/01/2017 11:32

I know what you mean ginger, detachment has become an art form here as well. Just want to get to Tuesday & know so there's no more time 'wasted'. It sounds cold but it keeps me sane.

I've a ton of ironing here you can be getting in with if you're very bored...Smile

oliversmummy26 · 26/01/2017 11:41

lol butterfly I bet sex is the last thing on your mind at 40+3?? Grin

AButterflyLightsBesideUs · 26/01/2017 11:53

It's just bloody awkward to be honest oliver! Tbh if it works I'm game Grin It was what set off all my contractions on Fri and Sun last week but they didn't ultimately go anywhere but maybe in combination with the rummaging/sweeping.... fingers crossed!

Gingerbreadmam · 26/01/2017 11:56

eden im the same. It sounds really silly but i have loads of prosecco left from christmas and i jus keep thinking ahh well if its bad news i can open a bottle. It's crap but it's also a light at the end of a shitty tunnel in a way.

Cleaning all done have had a lovely long shower n bit of a pamper so im feeling pretty good now. Like the beginning of a period now i would say but still no worse or cramps.

AButterflyLightsBesideUs · 26/01/2017 12:01

God I know what you mean. After I lost my last baby I consoled myself by eating epic quantities of pate & liver which I had been craving so much.

Gingerbreadmam · 26/01/2017 12:34

It's good to have a focus i think. I think i'd be in a worse state monday if i found out everything was ok im so convinced!

oliversmummy26 · 26/01/2017 14:25

Has anyone got any really good tips for morning sickness? I have had constant all day nausea every day for the last two weeks, I'm only 8+2 and am aware this could continue for another 4-6 weeks yet if not longer!

I have tried sea sickness bands, ginger tea, ginger ale, peppermint tea, chewing gum...the bands don't seem to make much difference and everything else works for a while, but then stops...I'm still eating okay as to be honest the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm munching on something. I'm still in work, but not really concentrating and am doing the absolute bear minimum I can without it looking like I'm not doing anything! Haven't told them I'm pregnant yet either and would like to put that off until 12+ weeks...

I'm tempted to go to the doctors, but feel like such a wimp when there are ladies with HG who can't keep anything down...I'm certainly not wasting away, it's just miserable feeling like this every day and it's starting to get me down...

This rant has helped a little actually! Smile

jpeg28 · 26/01/2017 14:30

Nasch just to be safe... smell it! I know that's gross but that's how I knew mine wasn't urine. The midwife at the hospital said that when your waters are leaking it smells like sex! Mine smells like anaesthetic! Which is weird... just waiting for scan. Baby has been quiet today so will be good to see him! Treating myself to a giant hot chocolate first!

Newshoes that's good it's not amniotic fluid. That's what they said to me too but just wanted to check fluid levels of baby. I'm sure they are being over cautious!

Carrick I'm so glad Cooper is home!!! The picture on Facebook is amazing and I hope he is settling in well. It must be so emotional for you after what you have gone through but I'm over the moon for you that he is doing well.

Butterfly enjoy the sex Wink I can barely do that now let alone at 40 weeks!!!

Ginger I'm glad you took the day off... thinking of you.

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 26/01/2017 15:59

Just a very quick hello to tell you all my 12wk scan went well today. Saw the little thing wriggling around and heart beating. Due date of 4th Aug which was my late grandfather's birthday so that has made my mum smile.

I've got to go pick up DD now so will have a proper catch up later. Hope you all don't mind me sharing my good news as I know there's a few first trimester ladies in limbo at the moment.

doleritedinosaur · 26/01/2017 16:08

oliver the only thing that works is to keep eating constantly. I still have to do it now. So I have a bowl of dry Rice Krispies next to me usually to munch on as well as fruit/instead of big meals I eat half then half a bit later. Also toast/crackers.
It's weird how eating stops it but just if you can eat whatever you can to keep it at bay. Otherwise doctor can prescribe meds.

That's great news on the scanimgonna

Hope your scan goes well jpeg

I'm mostly over the cold today & have energy so threw myself into house work & batch cooking. Now got a destructive toddler until he goes to bed.

Glad you're all home carrick I know with reflux there's swings/slings you can try, my friend's little girl got diagnosed a few weeks ago & she lives in the sling. Hope Baby continues to do well & stay home for you & you all get to settle.

Hope I haven't missed anyone, got to try & save the living room now.

jpeg28 · 26/01/2017 16:19

Imgonnasing so glad the scan went well! So happy for you... Obamas birthday is the 4th August too! Plus my OH's so a good date!! Lovely that it's your late grandfathers too.

Scan went well, baby is measuring just above 50th percentile, plenty of waters so goodness knows what's causing the leaking... another lovely pregnancy symptom!

oliversmummy26 · 26/01/2017 16:20

Imgonna that's great news, very pleased to hear you've had a good scan, gives us all hope Smile

Thanks dolerite I was hoping to be able to avoid constant eating...I'm constantly wanting muesli with yogurt and avocado salads at the moment (so could be worse I suppose!) but come the afternoon I want sweet stuff...I don't trust myself to allow me to eat whatever I want, else I will just balloon! I like the dry rice krispies idea, though I think the boys at work would find that odd! Grin

Sew3stitch · 26/01/2017 16:21

Hi everyone,

Carrick so glad to hear you're home.

Ginger hope you're holding up ok.

Congrats to those with healthy scans!

Finally got my hcg results back today, they went from 5500 to 7200 in 4 days which isn't looking good for 7-8 weeks. Had a bit of pain earlier in the week so I've been referred to epac for a scan on Sunday afternoon. Been told it's not looking good so just want to get it all over with now. I think the worst is not knowing and that's what really got me with my mmc so hoping I'll get a definite answer on Sunday. Just worried there's something wrong with me if this is happening 2 times in a row. Sorry to put a dampener on the thread, guess there's a bit of hope if my levels are rising but think I need to be realistic.

Gingerbreadmam · 26/01/2017 17:00

Lovely news imgona congrats!

oliver ive read a few people on our antenatal board saying ginger crystals are working for them.

sew im very sorry to hear that but as they all say its not over till its over. I will keep everything crossed for some positive news sunday. It's risen. That's good.

Im hanging on in here. Finally chucked the towel in at work after the bleeding stepping up slightly yesterday and.petrifying me about what was coming. Im the same today though. Light bleeding like the start of a period. Pinky brown. Had some timy clotty stringy bits when wipeing but nothing indicative of a mc. My scans monday morning.

Gingerbreadmam · 26/01/2017 17:02

Also sew if this is bad news i already know i'm being referred for recurrent mc so we may be able to support each other if we end up in that place keeping everything crossed we dont though

oliversmummy26 · 26/01/2017 17:08

Sew I don't know much about HcG levels but have just done a quick google and it looks like the levels can vary wildly from pregnancy to pregnancy and from woman to woman...
www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/ask-heidi/hcg-levels.aspx

According to this you're not too far off the levels for 7 weeks, could you be more like 5 or 6?

Good news is they've got you in for a scan on Sunday so you'll know for definite, thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

LuckyinOctober · 26/01/2017 17:47

Sounds reassuring Jpeg and good luck with the natural induction efforts butterfly - 39 + 3 here and planning to just wait it out and let my little one come when she's ready unless anything changes.

Sew3stitch · 26/01/2017 18:04

Unfortunately I know my dates because of temping and I'd be 8 weeks on Saturday but definitely best to have the scan and get an answer either way!

XxBecxX · 26/01/2017 18:57

My heart goes out to you ginge x

XxBecxX · 26/01/2017 18:58

Butterfly you need to come join us a facey and show us a bump pic so we can try to guess the baby's weight lol xx

Gingerbreadmam · 26/01/2017 19:28

Thanks becx xx

ImGonnaSingTheDoomSongNow · 26/01/2017 19:35

Thanks for the congrats ladies. I'm feeling very happy and positive following scan so hoping this good vibe will last and the anxiety won't creep back for a little while at least!

sew I had 2 mcs prior to this pregnancy, one in july 15 and second in aug 16 (we were trying from around november 15 when my cycle returned). The only difference being that I was found to be a little anaemic and started taking iron tablets before getting pregnant this time. I don't know if that helped but seems like it may be linked. My friend also had real trouble conceiving (thankfully no mcs for her) and as soon as they found she was b12 deficient and gave her injections she caught the next month.

My fingers are crossed for you for a good outcome on Sunday.
Fingers firmly crossed for you too ginger, sometimes work is not the place to be even if home is boring (that's what netflix boxsets are for).

jpeg thanks! Clearly an excellent date all round then. Glad your scan went well too.

olivers my sister had dreadful sickness with both her boys and found constant nibbling was about the only relief that worked. I think jacob's crackers were her snack of choice. The plainer the better it seems.

carrick glad you are home and your little one is on the mend, though it sounds like a very tough road. Here's hoping he's over the worst of it now.

butterfly good on you keeping the sex life up, my OH wouldn't touch me during last pregnancy despite my pleading. So I'm hoping now we've had a positive scan he will be happy to dtd again.

Sorry if I've missed anyone. Hope you're all having a nice Thursday evening.

DoubleCarrick · 26/01/2017 19:46

Thankyou all so so much for your support. I'm going to dip out of this thread now as my pregnancy is over. I wish you all the best of luck and hopefully will see some of you on the facebook group. I might check in every so often. Flowers be kind to yourselves xx

Gingerbreadmam · 26/01/2017 20:20

I did think about setting netflix up today so i might give it a whirl tomo and actually relax then. Thanks!
