I've had 2 positive tests from the same brand and many negatives from other brands such as clear blue. Could these positive tests be faulty? They were asda digital

How far pregnant do you think you are? Some tests are more sensitive than others.

mamarach26 · 11/12/2016 18:23

Best thing to do is go to the doctors, if you can!

Kelsey28 · 11/12/2016 18:43

Use the more expensive tests. I used the Morrisons tests and got three negatives. Went for a scan on my ovaries the next day looking for cysts and their was a ten week fetus!

Sophiachantal81 · 11/12/2016 18:44

I'm about 6 weeks , dr said I'm probably not making enough HCG but I don't feel pregnant

They need to do a blood test or a scan.

Sophiachantal81 · 11/12/2016 19:05

I'm going mad, I have to wait for period. That's why I'm thinkinhbtheyre faulty

Sometimes you can see an Evaporation line, have you got a picture of the tests?

Reality16 · 11/12/2016 19:58

Best thing to do is go to the doctors, if you can! please don't, it's an absolute waste of a valuable GP appointment

I've been told/read somewhere that you can get a false negative ( too early in pregnancy to pick up HCG) but you can't get a false positive. Maybe wait a few days then try taking another test. Did you check the control panel on the test to make sure it was done correctly?

bit harsh, I had the same thing last month and the month before two postitives and three negatives. I rang the epu and they said to see my doctor.

Sophiachantal81 · 11/12/2016 20:07

I made sure the test was done correctly and waited for the timer etc :(

It's only with one brand though, others say negative

mamarach26 · 11/12/2016 20:10

It could just be one set of tests is more sensitive! When is AF due?

Reality16 · 11/12/2016 20:12

bit harsh, no it's not harsh, it's realistic. The NHS is struggling and could do without am I? Am I not? Pregnant appointments from people who are testing and not giving it enough time. Why would you even phone the epu of you hadn't confirmed pregnancy? They were likely just fobbing you off by redirecting you to the GP. The epu isn't there to confirm pregnancy, neither is the GP.

Worrymcworryface · 11/12/2016 20:14

Can you try clear blue early response or FRER? Those are the only 2 I got BFP's with. Even GP urine test was inconclusive, ended up getting a blood test which confirmed it. Not a waste of time. It's almost unheard of to get a false positive (with the exception of evap lines) so unlikely you got 2.

mamarach26 · 11/12/2016 20:18

I'm not arguing over the Internet.
I hope you get the result you want. Flowers

Sophiachantal81 · 11/12/2016 20:19

Thankyou, I'm so up in the air, I think I do have a right to see my GP even though some people are rude on here, I pay my taxes, I don't go for a silly thing and my gp was very nice and helpful. Thankyou to everyone who has given me supportive advice on this thread x

I know how you feel, it's like being in limbo! Can you request a blood test? My doctor was lovely, did a dip test and a blood test, I had a early miscarriage then but I'm nearly 6weeks pregnant now so don't give up! X

Sophiachantal81 · 11/12/2016 20:28

Thankyou, the dr won't give me a blood test as I have low HCG. I'm in a muddle

OP posts:
mamarach26 · 11/12/2016 20:36

I hope someone who has experienced this comes along soon Flowers

Reality16 · 11/12/2016 20:41

I think I do have a right to see my GP even though some people are rude on here, I pay my taxes, I wasn't judging you on whether or not you pay taxes. It just irks me when people don't get the answer they want from a test and run to the GP. It isn't necessary. Just wait a while. The doctor even told you to wait and see, so therefore the appointment was just a waste of time. I understand the desperate need to know, we have all been there, but a GP isn't going to confirm it any faster than an HP test (in most cases)

Sophiachantal81 · 11/12/2016 20:42

Congrats on your pregnancy, is it ur first?
