Jpeg I've been getting bad cramps too, mainly in my toes! I have suffered on and off since a teenager though so I was expecting them to come back with pregnancy. I do find they're less frequent when I've drunk enough water and am eating well.
Also, as preventative, stretch and massage the muscles you get them in each night before bed.

I got some advice from my pregnancy Pilates instructor.... she said cramps are very common and gave me a little (extremely painful) calf massage and some exercises to do. She said some days the babies will just strip all of the nutrients from what you eat leaving something lacking for us mums and maybe I just need to eat more of something. I'm going to try and up my calcium and see if that helps and do some exercises before bed to loosen up the muscle.

Oh flourishing I love that, little Arthur ❤️
A proper little mans name, xxx
Aslong as the baby is happy and isn't losing weight just keep persevering, you'll get it tip top soon xx

Jpeg preggo cramps are HORRENDOUS!!!!
I start to get them at various stages along with restless legs (kicky legs I call it) i accidentally stumbled across an article where both conditions where a attributed to low iron levels so this time I'm really making an effort to stop my iron depleting enough to get symptoms.
Iron tabs are grim they make me constipated and uncomfortable so I'm trying to do week on week off.
If it happens again you either stretch your toes forward or you or use your foot muscle to pull the toes towards your leg, one of those will ease and one will make it worse lol
So that's either stretch out or pull in your foot lol xxxx

Hey ladies, had such a busy few days. Haven't had a chance to catch up properly but just wanted to come have a quick moan, I'm so fed up and emotional hormonal the last few days. Had my work Christmas do last night and was looking forward to a few hours of fun and nice food but now everyone knows I feel like I've lost myself already. I'm sure I'm overreacting and I know everyone is just excited/interested but my night literally consisted of people asking me questions about pregnancy/babies, telling me thir own stories and opinions, hundreds of jokes about me not being able to drink (oh another joke ha.ha.aha) whilst everyone else got drunk, can I eat that (roast beef - is it well done? Cheeseboard etc, coffee after meal) and I honestly don't think I had a single conversation all night that wasn't about babies. Arghhh. So fed up already! I just want to be me and talk about normal things and take my mind off it for a few hours! And there was someone else at the party wearing the same dress as me and I felt really bloated, fat and frumpy in it compared to her. Had a few photos with work girls and people automatically kept putting their hand on my belly every bloody time. I dont even have a bump yet! Sorry for the poor me post but just feeling very sorry for myself.

Right... I'm going to catch up now the rant is over lol so have to do a new post as I can't scroll through pages!

dino thanks for info, sounds like I've got a long while to go until any movement yet then!

lynsey good luck for tomorrow but that's good the midwife isn't worried and they're getting you checked over.

jpeg you're not dumb! Yes that's what anterior is (I only know because the scanner said that's the name for it!)

bec so glad to hear all ok with his little heart after the scare. It's so good to hear how good they are at checking these things so quickly. You have the placenta same place as me too then! You'll have to let me know when you're feeling the proper movements so I know when I can look forward to them!

Moonlight I know how you feel... it's like what did we all talk about before I was pregnant??! I'm still a person so talk to me about normal stuff!!! I say rant away... it always makes me feel better!

I treated myself to two jo jo maman bebe dresses today as I've been getting so bored of looking disgusting and frumpy at work! I have my xmas do tonight as well and luckily it's just a meal in a pub so I'm hoping I'll be able to escape early!

Thanks for the leg cramp solutions everyone! I have just been to see a friend who is 34 weeks pregnant and she has had loads of them so so sympathised! She said last time her husband was almost out the door with the hospital bag he thought she was in labour!!

Just as a heads up a fiend of my had horrendous cramps but was on water retention tablets so wasn't due to lack of drinking water, but couldn't take tablets to stop cramp - best remedy from doctor is apparently tonic water. Gutting that you ant have gin too but is pretty good cure

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good weekend and the many leg cramps aren't too bad!

Bec sorry to hear about the stress from the scan but so glad everything is fine.

jpeg great news that you're having a boy. Max is a lovely name.

Lynsey hope all is well at your scan tomorrow.

I've got what will hopefully be a reassurance scan tomorrow. Should be about 8 weeks. My anxiety is starting to ramp up. Haven't really felt sick the past couple of days. Keep reminding myself that what will be will be and there's nothing I can do to change the outcome. I need to find something to keep myself busy with today.

Everything crossed for tomorrow emily... I'm sure it will all be perfectly fine, keep us posted.

I'm worrying myself today.... I'm 20+5 and haven't felt any movement (I don't think) for a few days. I have an anterior placenta but I'm still worried!!

Evening my lovely lot!
I'm just having an excited day and literally can't wait to have my little fatty baby and cuddle him and love him, I've been looking through swings and I'm leaning towards the 4mums mamaroo, bit pricey but has anyone else invested?

Arr moonlight lol it's just your hormones my lovely, having them slightly over in any direction can make you psychotic lol
It's just a new chapter in your life and after the 'baby' talk stops the 'child' talk begins lol
I'm afraid to say that you won't ever really be you in your own right again but trust me when I say you won't miss it much, you'll find so many crappy things that your bubba does amazing that you'll be the one annoying everyone else at next years crimmy do telling them about your little lovelys 2 little peggies they have grown and keep biting you with and when they put their arms out to you when they want you and so on and so forth lol

Jpeg don't panic, the first movements are so easy to miss at the best of times but this is the first time I've had an anterior placenta and I'm really struggling to feel them and I know what I'm looking out for.
Try switching all the noise off and make yourself a cuppa and drink it while laying on your side and quietly think about the baby and your belly and while focusing see if you can feel anything.
It may feel like a little jab, it will likely be in the same place once or twice or it may feel like a swirly feeling, bubble type feelings or popping type feeling. Sometimes I just feel him swimming about, but I've only had a few rare little kicks, probably 5 ish in total and mostly at nite.
They say first babies are generally felt between 18-22 weeks and I believe that's down to positioning, obviously you've managed to notice some bits and pieces so try not to panic, you'll be posting in a few weeks that the baby is bouncing around like a lunatic and you can't eat because your belly is like a washing machine lol

Emily I'm wishing you the best for your scan, the only symptom I had early doors was a slight food aversion and slightly tender breasts but they came and went.

jpeg - I think it depends a bit on where the baby is. I had a couple of days in a row where I felt obvious movement and it has now been four days since I felt anything convincing. It must depend so much on whereabouts the baby is swimming around as to whether we feel it.

I wonder if anyone can reassure me!? The past couple of days I have been able to feel my heartbeat thudding away pretty much constantly. Its a weird sensation. Is this a pregnancy thing?

Report
LynseyH · 04/12/2016 22:16

Just quick checking in.
Good luck for tomorrow emily.
The early movements are quite frustrating I suppose as your not sure if it really is baby or not. Having an anterior placenta must be even more frustrating! With my boys, I had the butterfly feelings first. It gradually built into more full on jabs that were unmistakable. This time round I had more of a popping sensation to start with. Now I can get full on jabs that make me go "ohhh!" Or movements that feel like she is full on having a stretch around. I also can tell when she has hiccups!

I had the CTG done this morning and thankfully they were happy with the results, the word perfect was used so I'm happy with that. Growth scan tomorrow and I'm trying not to worry as everything else seems ok so far but the nerves are sitting there at the back of my mind.
Not sure if it's my dinner or not but I suddenly feel like I popped even further the last 24 hrs! When I last had a shower, I could just about shave everywhere without too much struggle, today was a totally different story. I was out of breath just reaching my legs!
Now 30+2 and smothering myself in cocoa butter moisturiser...I have a few stretch marks I don't mind at all, but I'm not keen on adding anymore if I can avoid it!

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. For all you teachers, just 2 weeks to go!!! I'm counting down also as I'm not enjoying the school run anymore. I'll enjoy it again when baby is here and in her pram where I can see her safe and snug.
Night all Smile xx

Newshoes I am the same... I can feel my heartbeat whenever I'm still really! If I'm on my side I feel it in my stomach! Like the blood is pumping really heavily!!!

Thanks for the advice on movement.... there is always something to worry about!!

Lynsey sounds like your little girl has had a growth spurt! Hope the growth scan goes well today.

INeedNewShoes · 05/12/2016 07:38

Thanks jpeg - I do wonder whether our thudding heartbeat also makes it harder to feel the baby move. I'm the same as you in that I can feel my heartbeat in my tummy so any little kicks might be masked by it.

lynsey thats great news on the test results. Good luck with the scan to today.

emily good luck with your scan.

newshoes and jpeg the thudding heart is a pregnancy symptom due to all the extra blood. The first time I thought I might have something wrong with my heart. Its a bit disconcerting. I also get breathless sometime for no reason (standing still and feel like I've run a mile).

With movements I think so much depends on how the baby is lying. With DS I got a few pops around this stage but in scans he was often curled up and so I think didn't kick out as much. This time I'm getting a lot of proper kick sensations but that probably just because the baby is lying in the right place and its defiantly easier to feel them second time around. The baby's name is Goblin because I think its stamping on me in there.

We had a bit of a chat with DS about babies growing and tummies getting bigger. Later that day he patted my bottom and asked if I had a baby in there. I asked why and he said because it was big and round. Charming.

Rofl ants x
Yeah I second ants, your body is now pumping to 2 places, your blood volume increases and the extra work your heart is doing is definetly noticeable, I can feel it in my neck sometimes and even hear it in my ears lol
My belly is just huge now, I've put on about 4lb all in and I've noticed my appetite has increased a little since starting the aspirin, strange but I wonder if there's a link?
My pelvis is holding out ok so far which is good but I've notice I've a weak spot in the small of my back to the left which I hope sorts itself out soon lol
I sound like a hypo!

Hi everyone. Jut checking in. 33+3 and starting to feel it. Looking forward to the Christmas hols so much. I'm going back to work for a few days after (in theory, unless she's early!) But I am counting the days now. I'm starting to get nervous about having a big baby. My bump is so hard and I can feel her right under my tummy. My dd was 7lb15oz and long and skinny. I can cope with that but hoping no bigger!

Baby is measuring perfectly Grin relief is huge and by their measurements she's exactly as she should be for this stage. I asked them if they could see the kidneys while they were there anyway and they are currently measuring the same size which hopefully means the fluid has resolved itself too, it'll be properly checked on the 30th at the 34 week scan. Good news all round!
ants that's so funny! Little ones really do have no filter!!

I've finally got the guts to post on here, as I have been lurking and kept thinking if I post its real. I am currently 7-8weeks pregnant after having a miscarriage at 11.5 weeks with a blighted ovum and I have an early scan on Thursday to check the same isn't happening again. Getting nervous about it in case it is and theres nothing I can do about it.
