I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Yep haven't taken cyclizine since Saturday morning and finally my head has stopped buzzing. But I have been sick three or four times since Envy will ring the doctors this afternoon or tomorrow as we were out all morning.

Sneezypeasy · 14/11/2016 14:18

Thanks for all the advice and support everyone, I feel slightly overwhelmed by it all.

Hope everyone is having a good day today, sorry if I miss anyone.

Special thanks to robber as without your post last week about nausea with little or no vomiting, I probably would have just kept on lurking - feeling much more empowered by you all to seek some help.

I am going to see the GP late this afternoon - lighttripper, I will take your advice and explain the effects on my quality of life, fingers crossed he will understand.

Happydays - thanks for the advice on mints, will give it a go. I hope peace is right and your baby arrives soon!

Blondes - I like the idea of soup, sadly Chicken cuppa soup didn't work for me, but DH also bought a veg one so will give that a try later. Hope 20 week scan went well, did you find out the gender?

LH - sorry to hear the nausea is getting you down so much as well. Have you had your scan yet? Sounds a bit soppy, but last time I kept my scan photo in bedside table to look at whenever I was feeling particularly down.

Babyand - so pleased cariban is working for you. Like fourcornered I immediately googled it and am also disappointed we can't get it here in UK hopefully we will find something that works.

babyand · 14/11/2016 14:51

Guys my gp has just told me that cariban is Spanish and bought over the counter in Spain for €6 if anyone has any Spanish contacts I could get you a pic of it or else maybe ask ur doc and it can be ordered in as mine was ordered in from Spain!

Sneezypeasy · 14/11/2016 17:48

GP was really nice, prescribed cyclizine along side metocloprimide, but said I will know in a few days if it doesn't work and to phone him to prescribe something stronger if needed.

Those of you taking both, do you stagger them or take both at same time?

In other news, I was sick when I got home, didn't stop the nausea though Sad

LightTripper · 14/11/2016 18:20

I was taking those two together. I'd take one of each when I woke up, the same after lunch, and then the same in the evening or when going to bed. I think the key thing is to spread them out through the day.

LightTripper · 14/11/2016 18:21

And sorry to hear you were sick Sad

RobberBride · 14/11/2016 19:16

Sneezy cuppa soup didn't work for me either, but small mugfuls of Covent Garden's healthy green soup went down a treat. Also felt like I was actually getting some nutrition! www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=294572961

Blondes how was the scan?

LucindaE · 14/11/2016 19:33

RobberBride Hurray for the healthy soup! You know, it is very unusual for someone with this to be able to eat something actually healthy- usually, it is junk food that seems to suit, horrible cheap ice cream, tinned fruit and its juice, crisps, sips of coke, etc. I think melon often is an exception.
Squeezypeasy I'm so glad the doctor has got you on a combination that has helped a lot of people on here.
babyand and others - ah, that accounts for it, Spanish! They do seem to take it in the US and in Canada, too, as on the helpher website.
LightTripper I am so sorry that the nausea hasn't let up, particularly as its continual.
Sorry if I've missed anyone. Waves to all...

Sorry, that's Sneezypeasy! I'm thinking of an awful old song, 'Squeeze Me, Please Me'!

RobberBride · 14/11/2016 19:59

Lucinda although the soup is healthy, it is also quite salty, which is probably what I like! Most of the other stuff I'm eating is crap - cheese on toast, potato wedges. I do eat melon and apples. Also I don't think I have full blown HG, I think I've got bad nausea which gets worse when I have bad headaches (every other day is a 'bad' headache day, the other is a mild headache day). I do feel like a bit of a fraud hanging out here, but I feel too ill to hang out anywhere else!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/11/2016 20:00

I feel the same Robber Sad

RobberBride · 14/11/2016 20:04

Peace I'm really sorry to hear it. The ladies on this thread have been so welcoming, I don't think they mind a lack of vomiting!

LHReturns · 14/11/2016 20:19

Hello friends! We definitely don't mind a lack of vomiting. I would prefer to vomit 20 times a day if I didn't feel any nausea in between.

I did not vomit today....achievement. 3 days to nuchal scan.

And it is my birthday today!! I celebrated by not showering, staying in a filthy tracksuit, wore glasses and never put contacts in, and picked some hormonal spots along my jawline. It has been marvellous. And I am now 41 SadSadSad

peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/11/2016 20:20

Oh I am certainly vomiting! But only twice a day on average. I joined on a particularly bad day when it was up to six Envy but I do feel like a fraud because I feel I'm one of the lucky ones on this thread.

RobberBride · 14/11/2016 20:30

LH happy birthday! Star for you (the only emoticon that didn't seem likely to make you feel nauseous). Tracksuits and hormonal spots must be the current fashion on this thread - first time I've ever been bang on trend. Good luck for Thursday - mine is Friday.

RobberBride I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying how nice it is to have you. Those migraine headaches sound horrendous - much sympathy. (lucky there is nothing in it).
LightTripper Happy Birthday, anyway. [flowers ]Star Grin Well done for getting into a track suit.

light happy birthday FlowersFlowers

robber I had horrible migraines for about 4 weeks, think it was from 18-22 weeks and then one day... they'd gone. It was amazing!! I hope they go soon for you too. I got some gel head bands that you put in the freezer and could then fasten around your forehead (like a very non fashionable headband Confused). These really helped me!

I'm still vomiting a lot and feeling more exhausted than ever, hoping this is the final hormonal "surge" before this baby makes an appearance. Fingers crossed!!

Waves to all Flowers

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2016 21:20

What was deleted post?

Lucinda - yes depending on what cycle you do the clinic either shuts your body down like menopause to be able to control it

So hot flushes and major hormones flying about

Then inject twice daily for 10-12days and then after ec and et more drugs for the 2ww and if successful then drugs for another 10/12w

Then if fails as did with me 4 times you then have do it all again if can afford it as all private

It's an emotional rollarcoaster that takes over your life - mind body and soul and tests your relationship

But diff drugs so no sickness 😁

Light. I've given up saying to people I'm nauseous as feel it continually but know if going to be sick. So say I feel ok even tho feel sick
Iyswim

Sneezy. I thought you said Caribbean - Thinking food 😂 but glad it's working

Robber. I def have mild hg compared to some I read about but the mild version is bad enough for me !!!!

You are not a fraud at all

Peace. In early days was 10-15 times then went to maybe 5 down to nothing some days then back to 2-3 times

Lh. Happy birthday 💐🍰🎁🍰 and you are 2yrs younger then me tries to make you feel better

Hopefully your scan on thur will go ok

Scan. Hmmmm bubs didn't behave. Is apparently very chilled And doesn't like moving. Had to really jiggle to make turn round for 12w neck/downs measurement

Did the same today and refused to turn (stubborn after their dad) 😬 and so not all measurements could be taken /checked so going back thur

Also means refused to show its gender - so hopefully will find out thur at rescan

Don't care whether 💓 or 💙 - just want to know

What they did measure all seems ok

peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/11/2016 21:30

Just spam blondes

babyand · 15/11/2016 08:59

Morning ladies, I'm wondering is the timing of the tablets crucial....this morning I woke and waiting about 30 mins to take my tablets, the nausea had kicked in by the time I took it. Now the nausea is not lifting :(

LucindaE · 15/11/2016 09:54

happydays You poor thing! I do feel for you. How many separate occasions is it? It must be awful at this late stage. It's really hard on women who suffer throughout.
Much sympathy for anyone suffering from those agonizing migraines...
babyand I'm sorry to hear that. I think the general advice is to take it when you wake up - unless the minute you wake up you feel the need to make that dreaded Bile Run -and then lie still for it to kick in.
Blondes That is interesting. I wondered, as a number of women on here including me couldn't take the pill without getting awful migraines, but the mini pill was fine, and they have a history of menstrual migraine too, and some have history of miscarriage - so it does seem that an element of hormonal imbalance is included. Anyway, it sounds awful! And you are always so cheerfully sociable even when suffering - an example for people who in real life have a melancholy streak, like myself!

Happy birthday LH Flowers!!

41 is a brilliant age to be (slightly biased) - leaving aside the throwing up and the international politics, obviously Grin.
