If you have a boy and a girl, how different were your pregnancies?

I'm 19 wks pregnant and have my 20w scan next week. We're going to find out the sex and have no preference but we're both playing a bit of a game of guessing at the moment! DS1 is 2 and my pregnancy felt different. Mainly in terms of sickness which was every morning without fail and then stopped overnight at around 13w. This time round it's a lot more random and unpredictable (so less I reckon) but still here at 19w. So I'm guessing a girl. Of course I know it could easily be a boy but just wondering what your experiences were with the pregnancies!

I have one of each and both pregnancies were pretty much the same although more pelvic pain second time around.

I had more indigestion with the boy.

But the main difference was that I looked awful the whole time I was pg with DD - spotty, drained, pale, straggly hair. With DS I glowed! My hair was shiny, my skin was amazing. Weird.

No difference really. I have two boys and a girl and some of the biggest differences were with ds1 as the odd one out.

I have two boys and both my pregnancies were totally different....even down to one being five weeks early and the other ten days late.....so I was convinced the 2nd was a girl.

Same as heart with dd my hair fell out while I was pregnant and I got really spotty. With ds my hair was lovely and thick and my skin clear. My sickness lasted 25 weeks with ds and 16 weeks with dd. I had similar heartburn. Generally, I found the pregnancy with ds harder because I felt sick more even though I looked much better!

My girl and boy pregnancies were the same! My two boy pregnancies were the opposite!

My pregnancies were both very similar. Similar nausea etc. I developed some identical health problems in both. I have a boy and a girl

Both pregnancies the same. I have one of each. Felt a bit worse the second time but that's because I was toddler wrangling so couldn't rest, snack, nap as easily.

ive had 3 girls, 1 boy,

my girls - horrendous sickness with all of em, put weight on, tonnes of it, all over. NEEDED sweet stuff.

my boy, had tonnes of energy, in fact i wanted to go running, i felt fab, didnt put much weight on. craved tomatoes, pizza, cheese.

Sex of the baby, as this thread shows, doesn't affect pregnancy in any correlative way.

Anecdotally, I also have one of each. Identical pregnancies and labours.

Very different!

DD - all day sickness for 36w, but had energy and didn't feel too terrible even considering the vom. Lost a lot of weight. Never experienced baby brain as I didn't forget a thing, thought it was made up

This one (boy) - can barely stay awake, am so tired and hungry. No sickness, have put on a lot toomuch weight. Also I'm very grumpy to the point of rude, and I can't remember anything.

I've got one of each and my pregnancies were entirely similar in terms of sickness/cravings/crippling spd etc

With my girls I was horribly nauseous and vomited most days up to about 13 weeks, was totally exhausted.

Currently 24 weeks with a boy. MUCH more debilitating nausea - needed antiemetics so I could stay hydrated and occasionally make it to upright, but was never actually sick. Also totally exhausted. I was sure this was a girl as well, as we lost a boy at nearly 14 weeks last year and that 1st tri was a piece of piss compared - queasy but functional!

I'm not convinced there's much rhyme or reason to it.

I had raging hyperemesis all the way through my pregnancy with DD, suffered terrible acne, couldn't eat properly because everything made me sick - it was genuinely the worst 38 weeks of my life
Having a boy this time (36 weeks pg), and it's completely different! Had minor morning sickness which stopped after about 13 weeks, I can eat normally, my skin hasn't changed much. My boobs have got absolutely huge - way bigger than last time, and I have SPD this time around and the tiredness is killing me, but I put that down to running around after a feral toddler as well as being heavily pregnant . I don't enjoy being pregnant at all, but it's not all bad, as I had a relatively easy labour and birth with DD, so I'm hoping for the same again this time!

Both pregnancies were easy but I had afternoon and evening sickness for the first few weeks with ds. I didn't suffer from the fatigue that I had with dd though.

2 boys = acne & no nausea

2 girls = no acne & nausea

With all my boys (1 stillborn, 2 survived) I was sick all day, every day for the whole nine months, even in labour. With DD I felt sick but wasn't.

9 months of sickness both times (but worse with DS2 because I was so tired looking after a toddler who still woke frequently at night)

With DS2 I also had insomnia and the beginnings of SPD.

I hate being pregnant!

I have one DS and am currently 32 weeks pregnant with DD. The pregnancies have felt exactly the same tbh. No sickness with either, no symptoms at all with either in fact. No cravings. Nothing! My bump is perhaps smaller this time around but then DS was a bloody massive baby.

I have two boys and one girl (apparently) and the pregnancies have all been identical

I have one of each and had two very comparable pregnancies and deliveries. Neiher of them were orgasmic in the end, alas.

I kind of 'knew' with each of them fairly early on what sex they were going to be and my hunches were right.

DS nausea stopped at 12 weeks, and wasn't that bad, just the odd dry heave.
Hair/nails/skin were glossy/long/healthy. Terrible heartburn and PGP all the way through and until he came. Bump was low. Felt emotional most of the time.

I'm heading to 3rd trimester with DD now and nausea was terrible, eased at 18 weeks but still have odd days of feeling awful. I'm spotty, awful hair and nails, no heartburn, high bump. Feeling more angry than emotional.

When I found out what she was at 21 weeks I was convinced it was a girl, and would have been surprised if they said boy.

The only thing that's the same are my cravings.

Four pregnancies, all different. One girl, three boys.
Pregnancies 1 and 3 were worst lots of sickness and other health issues. DD and DS2 are very like DH and both have the similar personalities.
Pregnancies 2 and 4 were easy hardly any sickness, lots of energy no major issues. DS1 and DS3 are both like me and have similar personalities.

Very similar.
