Clearblue positive - eBay test negative?

Afternoon lovelies! I did a clearblue test 3 days ago on my period due date. It came up a very faint positive, which doesn't show up too well on photos but I can certainly see it. I've done a different test this afternoon, at around 2 o'clock which was an eBay one and it has come back negative. We've been TTC for 2 months. I have been an bought a new pack of clearblue to try again in the morning! What's everyone's opinions? I'm seeing a lot about false positives with clearblue and it's making me worry. Thanks in advance xx

P.S. Top one is clearblue, bottom is eBay.

I have all the symptoms, and 4 positive but 1 negative test! I've arranged an appt for the docs on Thursday, hopefully I can get a blood test! I feel very silly & very embarrassed about it all. You'd think after 2 kids I'd be a pro but apparently not xxx

Did a digital this morning and came back not pregnant - I'm at the docs in the morning! I pulled the test apart and there is 3 lines on show. I've researched and mine look just like ones that were positive, I'm nearly 2 weeks late. Hope to get some answers in the morning xxx

If I were you I would step away from the blue dye tests :( A couple of months ago I got faint (but clear!) lines on sainsburys and clearblue tests. They were all false positives. Turns out if you look hard enough there is almost always faint lines on those tests.
From then onwards I only used Superdrug own brand pink dye tests, and First Response. They are fab!

hanflan · 07/09/2016 14:23

Oh and yes there are always 3 lines on a negative digital. I read an article on the science behind it but mine was the same. When I finally got my bfp I pulled the digital apart again and there were really strong dark lines!

Thanks! I've taken a look. It seems I can only find blue dyes. Hubby said to be patient, but we have a very expensive holiday booked for next year and if I'm not pregnant now we need to hold off a few months so we aren't due around the holiday time. It's getting me so tangled up. Just want a straight answer. Hopefully the docs tomorrow can get me a blood test. Xx

Really hope the doctors can help you, it must be so frustrating!

Meg91 · 07/09/2016 17:25

I've never had such a unclear answer. If I hadn't turned to google about clearblue, I'd have believed them and not tested with anything else! I'll update tomorrow after docs. Thanks everyone xx

Let us know how you get on at the docs!

DanniAngelMummy · 08/09/2016 10:32

Yeah, thinking of you today Flowers

She was useless! No blood test, she did one of their tests and within 30 seconds she said 'meant to give it 3 minutes but I'd say that's negative' and threw it away. I've already been to the loo 3 times this morning. She told me I'd probably had an early miscarriage and when I said but I've had no bleeding she shrugged her shoulders and tutted! Waste of time xx

I would probably assume the blue dye tests are false, or evap lines. Unless you can track down any pink or red dye tests, those are the best and don't tend to give evap lines. Sorry the doctor couldn't put your mind at rest!

Meg91 · 08/09/2016 10:44

im starting to think I'm not, but it's frustrating not knowing for sure. I'm gonna wait till payday, if still no AF then I'll order some first response tests xxx

If you have a superdrug anywhere near you then their own brand early result tests are amazing.

hanflan · 08/09/2016 10:51

These ones: www.superdrug.com/Health/Conception-Aids/Pregnancy-Tests/Superdrug-Early-Pregnancy-Test-2-pcs/p/421401

Never had a false line on those and they are super sensitive!

I have one in town, I'll pop in next week! I'm fed up now and just want to forget it all. Thank you xxx

I love Boots Tests. £5 for 2 of them plus they're pink dye.

MagpieCursedTea · 08/09/2016 15:25

I really sorry to hear your doctor wasn't more supportive and I hope you find out one way or another soon xx

Meg91 · 08/09/2016 20:00

It's made me feel pretty pants that my doctor wasn't helpful at all and tried to tell me I'd miscarried with no bleeding?! I'm gonna wait until next week and it no AF then I'll test again xx

That's rubbish Hun!!
Do you have a local early pregnancy unit you can call? If you have miscarried without passing surely they would want to see you? Big hugs and fingers crossed you get to the bottom of it soon Flowers

Meg91 · 08/09/2016 21:35

I feel like she just wanted me out of there and fobbed me off as quickly as she could! I'll update over the next week. Xxx

Hey just wondered how your doing? Xx

Meg91 · 11/09/2016 16:40

Hello!! I started bleeding 2 days ago, very painful & not like my usual period. So I'm guessing it's an early miscarriage unfortunately! Xx
