Hi everyone,

I am new here and wondered if anyone could tell what gender my baby is on my 13 week scan? I have a private scan booked in a few weeks but am feeling rather impatient!

Thanks

What makes you think the rest of us aren't feminists mephisto? How do you know the OP isn't? Do I have to get annoyed about every slight in order to be seen as a feminist? Perhaps the reason the movement doesn't gain as much traction as it should is because we're talking about something that is NOTHING

Blue
Don't see a nub
Think forehead is boy shape (flatter)
Congratulations!

If you think the gender stereotyping of foetuses is NOTHING then I'd politely disagree that you're a feminist

Thanks very much for the clarification, it's good to know you're working hard to confront the real issues facing women today. "You're not a feminist because you think it's okay that another woman can refer to her baby as pink or blue"
God help us all! Hmm

Actually laughing out loud at "the gender stereotyping of foetuses" 😂

I'm also a joyless feminist(!) and gender stereotyping IS a big issue to me - but the OP meant no harm, was just using a much used (and seldom thought about) phrase, and it was hardly the point to pick her up on it.

And you can totally be a feminist without fully understanding or appreciating how common phrases all contribute to negatively impacting on women. It's a learning curve for all of us Smile

I can appreciate the issue of gender stereotyping - but I just don't think it's appropriate when an excited pregnant woman is talking about her unborn child. Gently educate by all means, but the assumption that she should just know is ridiculous. I do think this in particular is a non-issue and I feel embarrassed for the OP that she's been treated this way.

What cwtchy said!!

Well yes, I quite agree as said.
