I've made the new thread, hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes... just wanted to make sure we had one.

Good luck purple!

The pregnant pillows are great Lynsey, i need to wash mine ready. Used it loads with DS for feeding & co- sleeping.

DS has decided that sleeping isn't an option anymore which is what I need with absolute exhaustion.

Well done Mrs on your scan & hope everyone else is okay.

Whatsername17 · 23/08/2016 09:01

I've got a 'Boppy' pregnancy pillow and I highly recommend it. 18+4 today and her kicks are getting stronger every day. Despite every anxiety I find myself feeling more and more bonded to this baby. It's really overwhelming. Feeling the wriggles always makes me wonder how some women could possibly go 9 months without realising they are pregnant. Both my placentas have been anterior too but I still get lots of kicks.

LynseyH · 23/08/2016 09:26

Mine is the Sanggol pillow. I was swayed by the length and reviews (and good price!). I was so comfortable in my little cocoon and I thought the same, I will be able to still use it after baby arrives. I remember my sore shoulders well from not being properly supported whilst doing the feeds. Did have to wrestle my 4 year old off the pillow yesterday though as he likes to hide inside it Smile

doleritedinosaur · 23/08/2016 09:58

I've got the mother care one, it is huge & I picked it up off eBay, saved my hips so much.

That's really good whatser, anxiety can be so hard.

I took the plunge today & finally bought DS's big brother top to announce with even though a massive part of me now feels I'm jinxing it.

I need to chase up the MW today as heard nothing about my cervix checks which should be 2 weeks away. Really not helping with my faith levels in pregnancy care at the moment.

LynseyH · 23/08/2016 10:51

Have any of you that were struggling with headaches found its got better? I seemed to form a pattern of 4 days pain then a few days without, then 4 days of pain again. Now I find I'm having headache every single day. It's really starting to get to me. I've made an appt for gp later but I can't see how they can help. I take paracetamol but I try to go without if I can, this morning my head was pounding from the minute I woke up.

felineways · 23/08/2016 11:10

Purple hope all is well this morning will be thinking of you.

Pre pregnancy pillows I can hugely recommendnthe boppy to. But also simple v pillows from duneulm mill . I had awful SPD in my last preganncy and they were a god send.

I'm currently still pregnant but none to hopeful. Still cramping and spotting, also no longer having any sickness and the CBD are reading (2-3 not 3+). Alone I know none are reasons to worry but combined it doesn't feel great.

Going to gp this pm just to get pregnancy in the system. In two minds as Id rather not deal with getting out of the system if things go wrong. However I know if I'm unlucky enough to have 3 miscarriages in a row I'll be mightly pissed off not get referred because I never registered this pregnancy.

Sorry a self centred post and lacking in positive vibes. I'm going and try and focus on early pregnancy as A medical issue. Eat right, take supplements look after myself but not looking forward too far. Today I'm pregnant and given my previous issues with conception that is a good start.

MissClarke86 · 23/08/2016 11:21

Lynsey, I'm still getting headaches too. They started at about 10 weeks with a monstrous one and since then they come and go, not as badly, but generally flare up in the evenings. Paracetamol doesn't touch them.

I teach so am off at the moment but go back next week and am dreading being in a classroom full of 6 year olds with a banging headache and no pain relief.

LynseyH · 23/08/2016 11:40

You have my sympathies missclarke. I wouldn't fancy that much either, bad enough if my own 3 start getting crazy! If I do take any paracetamol, I try to take it before the headache gets a hold and it seems to keep it at bay but never takes it away.
It's always just above my neck, sometimes resulting in a stiff neck, then if it really takes hold, goes into my temples and eyes. Definitely not an eye issue as been checked.

The midwife at my mental health appt yesterday said if it's hormonal, it should clear by my 20 wk scan, that's nearly another 5 weeks though and seems an awful long time to have constant headaches. She did also say if they persisted, see the gp, hence the appt later. After waking up with it, I'd had enough.

I'll let you know what the doctor says!

MissClarke86 · 23/08/2016 11:42

Mine is exactly the same! I feel like I need to crack my neck all the time, and it feels very pressurised. Let me know what the doc says! OH keeps telling me to go but I can't see what they'll do so have been avoiding it.

felineways · 23/08/2016 11:57

Lynsey and miss ive not had headaches like you discribe while pregnant but I did while breastfeedifng. Neck pain awful headaches which nothing would touch.

In my case the headaches were caused by a neck issue which in turn were caused by relaxin. If gp can't help it might be worth seeing a physio ?

felineways · 23/08/2016 11:59

Just to add a couple sessions and some excerises later the headaches went completely. I had to go privately and it cost 40 for each session but the relief was worth everypenny

felineways · 23/08/2016 12:06

Not the best link but the description of neck exercises are very good it might help.

purpleviolet1 · 23/08/2016 12:19

I'll check in later but just wanted to let you know I measured 8+3 and they think everything looked ok at this stage.

Whatsername17 · 23/08/2016 12:28

Brilliant new purple x

MissClarke86 · 23/08/2016 12:42

Congrats purple. Did that match your dates?

purpleviolet1 · 23/08/2016 12:59

I was 8+2 from lmp so yeah pretty much xx

Whatsername17 · 23/08/2016 13:05

It's nice to be pushed on a but, even if it's just a day. I know the reassurance is fleeting at this stage, but it's a milestone passed at least. Flowers

Whatsername17 · 23/08/2016 13:05

Bit not but!

Nitnat10 · 23/08/2016 13:10

Congrats purple, good to have any reassurance you can get!

doleritedinosaur · 23/08/2016 13:37

Congratulations purple that's great!

purpleviolet1 · 23/08/2016 13:43

Thankyou.

Naschkatze · 23/08/2016 14:37

Brilliant news Purple.

LynseyH · 23/08/2016 15:04

missclarke I didn't bother with the doctor either knowing meds are basically off the table but with being told yesterday I should, I thought there's no harm in seeing what she says. I'll definitely let you know what she says.
Thanks feline will check out the link later! Will give anything a try right now.
Great news purple. Take a deep breath and let it sink in.

felineways · 23/08/2016 15:49

Super news purple :-)

LynseyH · 23/08/2016 17:45

Quick update, doctor prescribed co-dydramol for the headaches. Said it's completely safe... still wondering whether to Google though. Dose is 10mg/500mg tablets, 2 to be taken 3 times a day as needed.
I just copied that off the prescription Grin
