Congrats on your little girl whatser Grin. Agree the wait between 12 and 20 weeks feels like forever. We are still deciding if we want to know gender.
The butterflies are so strange. I was questioning why I was feeling nervous for no reason. It is usually when I'm lieing quietly I can feel it.

Hugs to you purple

I hope your enjoying Italy nasch

doleritedinosaur · 08/08/2016 20:13

Congratulations whatser! That's amazing news & such a cute way to tell your DD.

Hope the bloods have good news for you Purple, also I don't want to alarm you but make sure your doctors/midwife check your AST/ALT levels with the nitro. I really don't want to scare you but they should do them anyway.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

I've got my appointment at the miscarriage clinic tomorrow, no idea what they're going to do as I'm 9+4 now.

Had a lot of rage then crying hormones today. The wall of tiredness was hard yesterday. I bought DS a ball as I felt so guilty that I couldn't run around with him.

17 days until next scan. I get cervix checks from 16 weeks so that means 2 extra scans to check length, which helps with scans before 20 weeks but a bit worrying that it doesn't change or is short.

Hope everyone has a good evening.

LuckyinOctober · 08/08/2016 20:39

Lovely to read your scan news and beautiful way of sharing with your DD whatser.

Thanks everyone for replying about movements, I've had a few wriggly/stretchy/rumbly feelings but not sure if they're my stomach or my womb stretching. Will start watching out for butterflies!

Mrs and Purple, hang in there xx

purpleviolet1 · 08/08/2016 20:47

What's AST/ALT and nitro? I've just been asking results for the HCG ..

mikesh909 · 08/08/2016 21:23

This may seem like an obvious question but I have no idea about the answer Blush. How do you know if your cervix is short / high / low / has moved?? Is this something you are told / can ask about at scans? Or is there some way of telling yourself? Most importantly, how have I never been aware of this until now?!

doleritedinosaur · 08/08/2016 21:28

The nitrofiratorin (sp?) I'm so bad at spelling it can sometimes cause levels to go high.
I really don't want to scare you & im sure the specialist will mention it or will do blood tests.
AST/ALT levels are liver function levels.

Sorry I feel bad now as I didn't want to not say anything but I don't want to scare you either.

purpleviolet1 · 08/08/2016 21:46

Aw no that's ok! Thanks. I'll mention it.

purpleviolet1 · 08/08/2016 21:56

It's actually the least of my worries at the moment. Not sure if I've already had a missed miscarriage

Macauley · 08/08/2016 22:49

mike good question! I have not a clue what mine has been up to all these weeks Blush

Whatsername17 · 08/08/2016 22:59

You can tell yourself by insertion have a finger. If you had checked during conception you could compare. During pregnancy, mine feels like swollen and wet. A bit like what I imagine my lips would feel lime if I'd injected them with lots of filler so that they bulged and distorted. For me, if I can feel it with one finger without having to reach, it is still quite low. If i have to stand with one leg raised and really reach it is higher. I can still locate it easily though, but that is high for my body. This concludes my TMI and over sharing for today! Grin

doleritedinosaur · 08/08/2016 23:08

Just don't google purple, I did after my levels spiked & did no good. They went back down though & no damage to DS or I. I'm sure they know to test them though.

Ahhhhhh so that's how you do cervix testing, I never have.

I'm the same purple, not finding out but you don't know that you're one of the ones where symptoms only occur when levels rise. I really hoped it's not a missed one for you.

purpleviolet1 · 09/08/2016 04:28

Thanks. It's just that I did have really sore boobs/ tingling nipples but now they are just back to normal pretty much. Also the exhaustion, nausea, heightened sense of smell all seem to have lessened. Also had some cramping albeit not strong , but definitely period like/ almost light contractions. Also got bachache but that could be infection related. No bleeding yet but I'm expecting it any minute.

If I never had symptoms at all I wouldn't have been worried but it's more the change in symptoms. Even the bloatedness seems to have got less.

HopefulKate1980 · 09/08/2016 07:47

Praying for good news on your bloods today Purple.

Re: cervix testing. I was sticking my fingers up there like mad when I was TTC and found it a pretty accurate prediction method but now it's confusing me. If my doctor was worried that it is low he surely would have said something when I had my first scan as it was transvaginal? Is there EVER something to not worry about!!!

Lots of love ladies and special thoughts to purple and mrs xxx

Whatsername17 · 09/08/2016 08:52

Purple I've got my fingers crossed for good bloods for you. As you know, I had a missed miscarriage. I carried my baby for a month not knowing he had died. All I will say is that my symptoms were so strong all of the way through. Achy boobs and being sick 4 times a day even after my baby had died. With dd and this one I barely had any symptoms at all and my boobs and tummy were constantly up and down. Keeping everything crossed for you. Flowers

Mrs I think I got a 3+ pretty much spot on 6 weeks (I didn't a few days before) so you might just be a couple of days early. Plus obviously hormone numbers differ massively. Don't stress over it unless it's going backwards.

Whatsername17 · 09/08/2016 11:48

I got 3+ at exactly 6 weeks only to find out only to find out at the scan I was really 7 weeks when I took it. Therefore, at 6 weeks I would have got 2-3 too x

purpleviolet1 · 09/08/2016 12:44

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone. Still waiting on bloods. Will be phoning back at 3.

Whatsername17 · 09/08/2016 12:47

Yesterday was the first day that I've had in this entire pregnancy where I felt like I couldn't stop smiling. I felt confident and reassured and happy. Today I'm back to worrying and feeling anxious. It was lovely while it lasted.

purpleviolet1 · 09/08/2016 12:58

Do you feel it's got a little easier as time has progressed?

LadyLynsey · 09/08/2016 13:14

Hi all, just popping in to see how you all are.
Fingers crossed for you purple.

I see quite a few post mrs about how unreliable those tests are so please try not to base any worry on those. I know it's such a scary time for you but hang on in there!

Either there is a bad breath epidemic in my house or my sense of smell has gone nuts again! Not pleasant.

Do you all still get that horrid feeling when you get hungry? I start shaking and when I try to put anything at all in my mouth, it's like my brain is telling the rest of me to reject it. I haven't been sick through it as I eat slowly and small bits at a time but it feels like mealtimes are such hard work!! I can't wait for this part to bugger off.
Bad head has really cleared but still got the fogginess that makes me just want to close my eyes and sleep it away... then, morning seems to hit about 2 minutes after I close my eyes.
I want that healthy pregnant glow now please with extra energy and no more bloody spots!!

Whatsername17 · 09/08/2016 13:56

It is strange. I keep expecting the rug to be pulled from underneath me. So after the 8 week scan I didn't feel any better after the initial relief of a heartbeat. With the 11 week one the relief lasted a few hours. Same with the 12 week one. I have good days and bad days really. The worry changes too. First it was molar, then missed miscarriage, now it's baby loss, still birth, placenta previa after the low lying placenta was found yesterday. Also, she's now not just the baby, she's my little girl. I'm so grateful and pleased to have gotten to here though. Hope your blood results are positive x

doleritedinosaur · 09/08/2016 14:02

Mrs from what I've read the HCG levels of those tests range so greatly they can be unreliable so just disregard it.

Have you made any progress on the clinic or are they saying next week still? Probably is better in their eyes as before 8 weeks so much varies.

Good luck purple!

Waiting for my appointment for the miscarriage clinic, still no idea what they will do. Heard nothing about my cervix checks for in 6 weeks time either so may have to ring midwife soon.

Hope everyone is having a good day & those on holiday enjoying it!

I actually have energy today, I feel like running around.

HCG levels
4w+1 = 127
5w+2 = 2653
6w+1 = 17,487

I have a 30 day cycle but I've calculated 4+1 from lmp so at each stage I'm more likely to be a few days behind.

6+2 today. Absolutely petrified. Had lots of moderate cramping / aching pain. Yesterday I was at morrisons and had a sharp pain which took my breath away.

Not sure what to think...

When do you guys recommend an early scan?
