35 +1 with PFB. Just packed labour bag for me and bag for baby.
What have I forgotten?

Labour Bag for Me:

Toiletries - hairbrush, bobbles, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush and paste, toilet wipes, dry shampoo, lip balm, moisturiser, lansinoh nipple cream, deodorant, flannel

Flip flops are handy for mooching about the hospital.

I'd probably take two nursing bras, just in case one gets soggy, sick on, etc.

Not sure you need three types of nappy cream. I'd also not bother with the top and tail sponges - cotton wools balls are fine.

Oh - you've already got flip flops!

I'd take more nappies. We ended up in for 24 hours as DS was cold and he pooped three times within an hour of his birth!

Couple of baby cardigans?

Placemarking as I'm 38+2 and obsessing about my bag right now...

OP - when you say "2 x newborn sets of clothes" what exactly do you mean? I have only packed sleepsuits and vests.

If you have a travel changing mat, it might be worth bringing it as you are likely to be changing the nappy either in the crib or on your bed. I needed the sheets changed several times due to unexpected piddling.

More nappies and more maternity pads. I would suggest two packs of maternity pads and a pack of nappies

More nappies and more baby clothes - maybe consider putting a couple of sets of "tiny baby" size (keeps tags on in case you have a big baby and can return to the shop!) - my son was 7lb 14oz but 'newborn' size was a bit big initially as he was still scrunched up for a few days!

A couple of jogging bottoms and lots of comfy knickers for you - you will leak!!

Another bra or two

I ended up having to stay in for two days so I would say maybe a few more sleep suits for baby?
I was advised not to take wet wipes in as the midwifes rather you use cotton wool balls and warm water for the first two weeks. I use water wipes now and my little one still gasps at how cold and wet they are :-)
I took really baggy knickers too lol. Then I happily threw them away after I came home. They were good for holding everything in place and no leaks etc.

You might want to take some things for your birthing partner. At our hospital baby dads were allowed to stay at all times. So he might need a change of clothes, underwear, toiletries etc. Also a good idea if in labour for a long time. My DP didn't stay after I had the baby but he was with me for 27 hour labour.

If you haven't bought it yet, I'd suggest a bikini or sports crop instead of a full swimsuit as you will probably be more comfortable in the water.

Def more maternity pads for you.

Kitchen sink?

I'd say cosy socks and maybe a cardigan (it was cooler on the post ward than the delivery suite).
Definitely more vests/sleepsuits/muslins maybe a few bibs incase baby is sickly (sometimes saws an entire change!) I'd skip any newborn clothes (there will be plenty of time to wear these but you want ease when baby is brand new).

I wouldn't take 'baby outfits' just take extra babygrows and vests

I split into labour bag (my stuff and 2 baby sleepsuits/vest/hat/scratchmitts/nappy)
Then afterwards bag (actually 2 - one for me and one for baby)
That way all my bags could be smaller and I flung all the washing and no longer needed stuff into the labour bag afterwards so I wasn't going thorough it when trying to find something.

More mat pads
More nappies
More baby clothes (ditch the mittens though, they don't stay on)
Maybe a cardi for baby
Don't need that many breast pads

Empty carrier bag for dirty clothes!

I also think more nappies and more maternity pads.
Maybe more muslins (I had a sicky baby!)

Wow! Hadn't expected so many replies!

Right to answer questions:

1. Music is already on my iPhone, so that's sorted.
2. Tens machine has just arrived from Boots today. I plan to use it first at home for the current hideous SPD I've got and see if it helps at all. I've been warned it only helps in the very early stages of labour, so not sure I'll bother with it at the hospital.
3. I won't be bullied by MW's, water wipes are perfectly acceptable ;)
4. A second nursing bras is a good idea.
5. As for more nappies/babyclothes etc. I've got a secondary bag packed with extras of all these along with maternity pads (HATE pads so hoping to use the giant incontinence TENA pants I've bought tons of - Pads are so uncomfortable) so if I have to stay in DH can come home and just collect the second bag.
6. I'm not a fan of baby cardigans - hence not bothering to put them in.
7. It's really warm here at the moment and baby is due middle of August - i've packed a nice blanket so hopefully warm enough.
8. Re clothes for me - I'm boiling all the time and the time I've spent in hospital so far this pregnancy I've been dying to strip down to my undies on all occasions, it's always so bloody warm, drives me mad (hence the mini fan!)
9. I've opted for a tankini (which is a bikini but with longer top) not a full swimsuit :) I've worked out that my foof needs to be open to the elements ;)

10. Re 2 sets of newborn clothes - as in I've rolled up a short sleeved vest, hat and mitts in a baby grow - 2 lots of these in newborn size and the same again in the next size up. 11. Definitely not doing 'outfits'. Baby will be in baby grows for as long as possible!) 12. Good shout for the empty carrier bag.

Car seat is in the car along with the cash for the parking.

DH can sort his own stuff out, I'm not babying him too. To be honest, we have lots of animals that will need to be checked upon so he won't be with me 24/7 and can come home for stuff if he needs it.

You need more babygrows then. A newborn will be freezing in just a short sleeve vest as they have been enclosed for months

You may not be a fan of a newborn Cardigan but they need bundling up loads when just born. I remember dc1 being in a long sleeved vest, sleepsuit hat and Cardigan and the mw still swaddled her in at least three hospital blankets.

Artandco - baby will be in a short sleeve vest and then in a long sleeved sleep suit with hat and then in a blanket.

I just haven't found any that aren't horrible material - I shall continue looking. It is very warm here, would rather baby was on the cooler side than too hot, but will be guided by the MWs on the day.

The reason I suggested bikini instead of tankini is if it has to be bunched up above your bump during labour it might be uncomfortable and irritate you. Less material = less irritation.

I wore one of those stretchy crop top style bras and it was perfect.

Agree on the wipes. Cotton wall + water is no match for those first tar poos! Wish I had known this for DC1....
