What do people recommend (in the UK)?

Oooops I meant NON alcoholic beer obviously. Freudian slip.

I'm guessing you mean non-alcoholic beer? I love Bavaria Weissbier. Ocado do it.

whifflesqueak · 30/06/2016 21:27

brewdog's nanny state.

BikeRunSki · 30/06/2016 21:27

Beck's Blue is quite nice.
I had low alcohol (0.5%) Erdinger last week (driving, not pregnant) which was delicious.

Suzietwo · 30/06/2016 21:29

The San Miguel one is good

SellFridges · 30/06/2016 21:30

Beck's Blue is the best. The Brewdog one is pretty good but I rarely see it in shops, only bars.

NashvilleQueen · 30/06/2016 21:31

Becks Blue Lemon is v nice. Like a Radlers.

ICanSeeForMiles · 30/06/2016 21:32

Becks blue is nice, you can't taste the difference between that and the real thing.
My ds is nearly 5 and I still drink it sometimes when I don't want a hangover, but fancy a beer.

Runningupthathill82 · 30/06/2016 21:34

Brewdog's Nanny State is the best - Tesco and Booths stock it round here. Veltins and Erdinger are the next best.

Becks Blue is barely drinkable, as is Bitburger Drive. Worst, though, are non alcoholic Koppaberg, and Cobra. Utterly, utterly foul.

anotherdayanothersquabble · 30/06/2016 21:35

Alcohol free Erdinger. I can still remember drinking this when pregnant with DD. DS was 20 months old and I was obviously pregnant. It looked and tasted like proper beer, served in a riverside pub in Richmond, sheer heaven!! The looks I got though..... you would have thought I was shooting up!!

n0ne · 30/06/2016 21:39

I second Bavaria, tastes 99% as good as normal beer. They do pilsner, wheat and Radler versions, not sure if they're all available in the UK, though.

dats · 30/06/2016 21:49

Erdinger all the way!

positivity123 · 30/06/2016 21:57

Brew dog nanny state is at nearly all Tesco. It's 0.5% and it is the best by a long shot.

RochelleGoyle · 30/06/2016 22:07

I like San Miguel 0%. They also do a nice lemony version, if you can find it. I don't like Nanny State but Brew Dog bars sell a lovely fruity non alcoholic drink by the Roots Soda Company, called Kaleidoscope.

Maisel's Weisse Alkoholfrei. It's a German white beer, a bit like Hoegaarden and totally the best one I've tried. Very difficult to find though, I ended up buying a crate when I was up in Manchester as there is an alcohol free shop there (www.alcoholfree.co.uk/ they do delivery as well). I like the Erdinger one too (Sainsburys and Waitrose sell it) but I think it's a bit fizzy. It does have extra folic acid in it though! The BrewDog Nanny State is good as well but very different - super hoppy.

I thought Cobra was revolting. Becks Blue fine if you make it into a shandy on a hot day, otherwise I don't really like it much.

Hope you find one that you like!

MrsStavrum · 01/07/2016 12:35

I really like Becks Blue as long as it is really cold!

KayTee87 · 01/07/2016 12:42

They're all rubbish compared to the real thing but a freezing cold becks blue isn't as bad as the others.

37 weeks pregnant and missing a real beer (or 6)

minijoeyjojo · 01/07/2016 14:02

Erdinger is really good - drank it all through pregnancy. It's by far the best of the lager type beers imo. I have some of the brew dog nanny state too, I was really excited to find an ale, but wasn't much of a fan in the end.

Bluebird126 · 01/07/2016 14:13

Endanger is the best I've tried, even DP likes it, whereas he poo-pooed all the others I've bought.

Bluebird126 · 01/07/2016 14:15

Lol NO! Erdinger not Endanger Grin

Bleats · 01/07/2016 16:20

Any thoughts on non alcoholic wine? As a non-beer drinker I have been having becks blue as a shandy (I know - what is the point). A decent bottle of wine would be a treat, so far they have been dire.

ohanami · 01/07/2016 16:32

Not the easiest to get hold of but on holiday recently I enjoyed Sages (0.5% though so still not perfect if you want more than a couple) and Estrella Galicia 0.0 - both were much less wheaty than anything I've bought in the supermarket at home, even dh approved. Both are available from online places.

Dangermouse1 · 01/07/2016 16:35

Bavaria for me too (loved the slightly alcoholic shandy they do when breastfeeding too), Cobra is disgusting and I found becks not much better.

MsFiremanSam · 01/07/2016 21:46

Erdinger - and it's full of vitamins!

LisaTheSimpson · 01/07/2016 22:25

Bleats - the wines I've tried have been dreadful.

I miss white wine but the substitutes are no better than sparkling grape juice or Schloer (in fact, they're worse; something like Schloer is better).

Only thing I think is worth drinking is Sainos sparkling white wine. It's a little too sweet, but it's not far off Prosecco actually, if it's really cold.
