Dorothy P's have nicematernity spring stuff. Loving the styles and colours just now.

Tutter · 15/01/2007 12:16

hi liesel - how are you doing? rather alarmingly i am already huge (in a fat, rather than a pg way) at only 13wks

OP posts:
lissielou · 15/01/2007 12:26

try ebay too, there are loads of fab stuff, and h&m

Tutter · 15/01/2007 12:41

yes, got lots of stuff from hennes last time lissie

but what surprises (and pleases) me this time is that you don't have to buy maternity tops atm - lots of fashionable tops right now are perfect if you're pg - these for example

hoxtonchick · 15/01/2007 12:51

LieselVentouse · 15/01/2007 13:41

LieselVentouse · 15/01/2007 13:57

27th - thank God youre on here,I feel like theyre ignoring me on the ante-natal bumps - they all seem to knoweach other and Im like the new girl. How was your scan? Do you have a pic? I go for my scan on Wednesday (cant wait) theyre doing nuchal fold aswell sothats why the wait. Can I ask how old you are? I hadto have blood tests last time (30) and they came back as high risk so I had an amnio tooand everything came back fine. I expect the same will happen this time but Im not too bothered this time.

Miaou · 15/01/2007 14:07

Liesel and Tutter, I'm due on 21st July and I won't ignore you!!!

Love those ebay dresses - aren't they fab?? So much maternity wear is so dowdy isn't it. My mum has offered to buy me a top from Vertbaudet but tbh I don't really like any of them (and it takes a lot for me to turn down a freebie )

breadandroses · 15/01/2007 14:10

Also, I wouldn't normally but Primark have those ToSho t-shirts for even less money.

Thank you God, for Primark...

breadandroses · 15/01/2007 14:14

Tutter, are you in July an club?

Just been lurking on best gig thread and Spike Island would also be on my list, but only cos it was my first one y'know. Sound was a bit poo, and too many drugs for my delicate pre-teen head (around me not in me)

Sorry for hijack!

Gemmasmummy · 15/01/2007 14:58

I've managed without any maternity tops so far (22 wks) and didn't buy any at all in my last pregnancy. But my experience of this season's smock tops has not been encouraging - they make me look 15 months pregnant! Either the neck is too low, requiring a camisole underneath (which defeats the object of buying a new top) or the "waistline" is too high so it doesn't fit under the bust as it's supposed to. Or they show my bra - and a heavy duty pregnancy bra should definitely NOT be on show. If they have the right fit around the tummy area, they are too tight across the shoulders, and I wonder if they will still fit in 4 months' time? I do like crinkly tops though, as they cling and expand in all the right places and don't need ironing! But they are hard to come by this year. I managed to snap one up in Primark a month or so ago but haven't seen any more since.

shortie1 · 15/01/2007 15:10

I didnt buy too many maternity clothes - mainly trousers (their so expensive!) I'm due in 2 days and have lasted in mostly big sized tops. If u can get over the fact that your wearing size 16-18 when your usually a 10 its so much cheaper! snapped up loads in sales and primark, just make sure their long enough to go over bump and you'll be stylish and still have money in your pocket!!

expatinscotland · 15/01/2007 15:12

when i was pregnant in 2003 i had such a hard time finding maternity clothes, i cried and my mother sent them all from the US.

glad things have changed.

LieselVentouse · 15/01/2007 15:22

Well I was last PG in 2001 and I had a trendy wardrobe so 2003 must just have been a bad year.

expatinscotland · 15/01/2007 15:24

i waddled from one end of prince's street to the next and the only stuff i could find was so dear, i'd not have bought it even as non-maternity wear i could use for years and years.

lizziemun · 15/01/2007 15:39

Yes the smock/empire line type tops are great, i hope it better then 2003 as when i was pg with dd and looking for maternity clothes was told that there was no call for them. We asked the sales assistant what was i supposed to wear then and she just looked confused.

Luckly this time as i a sahm i won't need anything to smart and get away with the more casual look.

Although i have to say having looked at few sites why is everything so dull, i don't wont black and white.

Tutter · 15/01/2007 17:00

liesel - i'm 36, so background down's risk was 1:300. after nuchal fold measurement it dropped to 1:1440, then after bloods to 1:10,000.

i've posted a couple of times on the antenatal thread but couldn't quite get the heart for it somehow - i get too flighty for long involved threads that mean i have to keep up with lots of detail about everybody - far too selfish for all that

i'll look out for pregnancy thread from you - and you miaou and breadandroses (bar - when are you due?). miaou - you should encourage your mum to buy you stuff from my friend's shop here - a bargain

Gor blimey Tutter would need a second mortgage to shop on that site - Baby would have to go without cot!!
Some lovely gear though.

Loving the jumpers on the warehouse site. Why is it the ones I don't want which are reduced, while the one I want isn't. Always the same...

Gingerbear · 15/01/2007 18:18

Crave Maternity have a sale on at the moment. Fab stuff on their website:
